Anyone having issue with volume buttons on side of tablet? - Microsoft Surface

When I try to lower my volume a bit it will go all the way down to zero. Then when I try to go back up a little to say 50. It shoots up to 100.
Has anyone noticed this behavior?

I've noticed that the displayed volume bar doesn't always update to what the system volume is.

I do. I think this is by design maybe. If so, it is poorly implemented.

Seems to be a hardware issue affecting a good number of Surface tablets:

Screen color problem Tf101

turned on the tablet and the screen appeared red color on the place of black. what can be reason for this? or is there any way to make it as it was before?

Not only is some places red instead of black, a number are also blue instead of white.
Perhaps the GPU/SOC is overheating or going bad? I really doubt a cable to the LCD is put in properly or loose, simply because it would be a consistent color (either red/blue/green) that would be off. Try playing an intensive game and seeing what happens. I'd be willing to bet it will either crash or something similar. Probably time to do an RMA.....

reset to factory settings, and after some time turned it on. everything was ok.
that often happens on computors anyways when you overclock the gpu/cpu too much so maby if you keep the voltages low it wont happen again

Boot on recovery (CWM) hold Power + Volume(-)... etc. And do a "factory reset/wipe".
But if the problem comes from an OC heat, I think you will have to install also a rom/kernel without OC. Then wait some hours to start it up.
hope it helps.

display washed out?

Anybody else getting a washed out display at times? Almost like the contrast is too low and the whites are too bright? Seems to happen more on power save mode.
We already have a few threads on this. Switch to balanced or reboot.
Same thing here

Pretty old thread this, but yes, happened to my Tf700 a couple of times lately after watching a couple of iView programs. Seems OK in the morning. Rebooting straight away doesn't seem to make much difference. Good to hear if there's a fix.
Thanks
Grant

Asus designed it that way. Don't use power save mode and turn off the auto dimming in the asus settings.
Doesn't go dim

I use it that way all the time. Doesn't go dim - as jrkart99 says - it goes too white and there's no contrast.

Home button problem

Hello,
I've noticed that pressing the left side of the home button doesn't activate it, is this normal, or should I use my warranty to get it repaired?
Edit: It does work if you click the left side of it, though I need to press harder, and it feels a bit wiggly.
Thanks.

i have the same issue, if i press the left or right side it wont work, i have to press it harder or press in the middle...its not that big of a deal....but its annoying...
Anyone else with this issue? Wondering how common is it, and what color is your galaxy? I've heard it's common mostly on black devices.
mine is black....but...my brother got one too and its in black but he doesn't have this issue...his home button is solid...

I had it on my first one and returned it and my new one doesn't but has a dodgy screen.

that's the reason i didn't return my s6, because the home button issue is a small one, i don't wanna change it for another one which maybe have a worse issues....so its not bad, its a bit annoying....
I purchased a gold variant and the first device had a wobbly home button, got it exchanged on the weekend, the 2nd device is not wobbly but the left side is raised more than the right side, however it seems to respond to presses without problems.
Samsung quality control has always been a little shady.. I've returned 2 already... First one no signal... 2nd went back because the home button was very loose and made loud noise when I gently tapped it(not pressed)... 3rd phone has been perfect so far, but I've now noticed after deep sleep sometimes I press the home button and nothing happens... Want wake up until I try pressing again....? Anybody noticed this.... Also the home button went from sturdy to wobbly in about 2 weeks

This sounds bad, I guess there's really no point in getting a replacement in my case.

Ya im just gonna live with it too... Id rather have a questionable home button than a pink screen or something worse... Every year since the Galaxy S3 I have returned a phone for one reason or another... Samsung makes great phones.... But there are always a few faulty ones
My home button works every time no matter where I press on it. It does make a rattling noise if tapped on (without pressing it) and I think it's for the fingerprint scanner...other than the annoying rattling, my home button is fine. Might wanna get that checked out.

that rattling noise kills me, its so annoying, my brother S6 doesn't have this issue...his home button is solid...i am thinking of replacing mine....
Mine doesn't work very well at all. Maybe 40% of the time when pressed. Fingerprint detection isn't that good either.
Thing is, I'm left handed so the fact that it's not clicking well on the left side sometimes requires me to click again and it's a little bit annoying. Oh well.
Mine is too. I have the international variant f.y.i. but i don't want to replace it yet because that's the only problem I've seen in my phone for now.

If it doesn't click well then that's a problem. My issue is that it just sounds annoying.

I really want to replace mine too for that reason but it would be my fourth S6 and I don't wanna go through all the app reloading and all that again...though I think the camera shutter is different on this one. It pisses me off.
I'm going to see my T-mo rep on Monday so I'll let you guys know if I exchange for a new one and if it doesn't rattle.

yeah its annoying that all S6 are infected with something....sometimes you tell your self that if you replace it you might get one with even worse issues....its really annoying that samsung can't do it right the only time they tried....

Yeah I know it's a problem, however it doesn't bother me that much as long as it won't get any worse.
I probably wouldn't even notice it if it wasn't for the complains about it I've seen online.
I am kinda upset about that, but I can live with that.
Also considering I might get a worse replacement I guess this one is fine.

Screen Burn in

I'm not sure when this started happening, or if it has always been this way, but I have the 567, USA variant of the mate 9, updated to 367 security patch. Anyway whenever the screen is on and there is no movement, scrolling or otherwise, when I go to another screen, I can see a sort of ghosting, like items from the previous screen, like they have been burned in. Anyone else have this issue???

Experienced it too. I think it is a common issue with LCD panels. It will go back to normal state after a while.

HI, I tried lowering resolution to 720x1520 but notch and borders get messed up, any fix for this? I just need to try it for some days I need more battery.

I don't have the answer, however lowering res only helps battery when gaming in my testing.. And I did test a whole lot... The difference there wasn't significant either.
