Hello All,
I have upgrade my HTC explorer to ICS build#2 . Now i cannot connect my phone with usb to my PC.
According to installation steps of ICS, its says USB sometimes does not work . But in my case it is completely not working.
Please guide me to fix this issue. Or tell some shortcut to access my phone through usb.

I have HTC touch HD and I have problem with

I have windows 7 and my pc detect the htc like mass storage but it cant install driver for it or find one for htc
and I cant use my htc on pc .....
I saw that many people have the same problem with driver
do you have some driver or solution for this problem.
I have installed windows mobile device centar but nothing...
it cant just install driver for my HD
I flashed my phone with another rom but after that is a same problem....

I don't have my PocketPC anymore, but It looks like you set your Touch HD to be automatically recognized as a USB Storage Device... just change it to Activesync inside Control Panel in your Touch HD and Win7 Mobile Device will detect it with no problem.

Like mentioned in some threads in dev section i have problem in some ROMs with connecting my phone to my PC in USB/Harddisk mode (but only in some).
When i get connected i see the window where i can choose the mode but when i use USB/Harddisk mode the sdcard is going to be unmounted and nothing happens.
I can see drive letter in my PC but i can't get access.
USB-Debugging is on in every Rom.
The Roms i get no problem:
- All Virtuous Unity Roms
- Shipped Pre-rooted Desire S stock by Adidas108
- RCMix3d 3.5 S v1.2 [Stock & OC Kernel] by proxuser
The Roms where i have the problem:
- VoidU
- All OTA Roms by proxuser, michaelm007
- Hyperion/Endymion
So cause it works sometimes i don't think its a hardware defect.
Maybe it is driver related?
I have installed various HTC Sync versions, AlpharevX fastboot drivers, uninstalled, reinstalled... no changes.
So what drivers do you use?
Other ideas?
Interesting for example michaelm007's Untouched Saga don't work and Pre-rooted stock by Adidas108 works.
I think i have the same problem. Windows 7 just saying unrecognized device. With some roms my phone only charge and with some roms it pop up that is connected to PC and what type of connection i want.
I have no problems with usb connecions
Try to download the lastest htc drivers,
And anyway,there is a program,named Android commando(or something like this,i don t remenber very well)where you can open your phone on the pc also in charging mode,like adb.
With this you can open the android system,so system,data etc.. and the sd card

I have a nexus s , i9023 . i have never tried to connect it to my pc, last week i updated it to 4.0.4 (OTA). now i want to connect my phone to my computer but wenn i connect it , nothing happens!!! really nothing!! and i cant find any related setting on my phone!
I have a lots of thing to transfer to my PC but i cant connect it!

Have you install USB Driver?

using nexusshacks.com to download your adb interface.
Just scan around it is there.
After that, when you plug in your phone. It should say do you want to turn on USB storage. Just click on the big green tab and your SD card should be mounted and connected to the computer
I've been facing this weird issue for past one week.
Whenever I connect my phone to PC, nothing happens(except charging).
The dialog box with options such as disk drive, HTC sync, Internet pass through doesn't appear. I tried different cables and different USB ports but problem is there.
What should I do?
I use Sense4 modded by bulletproof.
PS:Mounted as USB from TWRP and it works. What could be wrong then?
USB isn't fully supported in sense 4 roms. Instead of creating a new thread, yu could find the same in the rom dev thread .

i have a htc Sensation 4G running Viper ROM 3.0 aka Jelly bean and it wont connect to my PC my PC says that it doesn't recognize the device.....my phone just doesn't even show the connect notification and when it does it goes strait to tethering via usb and not transferring
can someone please help it would be very appreciated and if you want more info just ask

Hi,
Several things you can try:
Re-install the drivers/HTC Synch
Check my signature for windows 7 & 8 drivers.
Try a different wire.
Try different usb slots ( front and back,and not usb hub)

I've played around with the ROM, and this is a bit of a bug. Tethering is the main problem, as the device won't use MTP while tethering is enabled. Whenever it does manage to connect, it will only attempt to tether a connection.
Disable that first by connecting the phone to a PC, when connected click the notification and disable tethering.
You can then use the SD Manager application to connect as mass storage, or you can attempt to use the ROMs in-built MTP transfer.
Also try out Malybru suggestions and see if you can get a more stable connection.

thanks i will see what works right now im using wifi file transfer as a quick fix but i need the cable to work so i can watch my movies on my tv
