[Q] Battery with circle. Can't do anything... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I've searched but I can't find anything.
Earlier today I got my SIII and so of course the first thing I did was root it and installed AOKP. Everything was fine up to about 30 minutes ago. My phone vibrated as if it were powering on / off and now whenever I press the power button I am greeted by the following:
http colon slash slash i dot imgur dot com slash Agme9 dot jpg (sorry, I don't have the privilege to post pictures yet... the screen shows a battery with a small circle on it...)
As long as the phone is plugged in I can boot into recovery and then restart the phone from there, but I can't boot up normally and I can't get past the AOKP boot screen. I restored my stock backup through recovery and restarted the phone and was able to get to the lock screen but as soon as I tried to unlock the phone it turned off again and displayed that battery screen.
The phone was plugged in when this all happened. I can't do anything unless the phone is plugged in, and if I unplug it while it is booting it just turns off and shows the battery screen. My suspicions are that the battery is faulty. Can anybody confirm that this is actually the case?
If I need to take this into Verizon what steps should I take? If I can get into recovery I figure I can at least use ADB to get around. The SIII has a flash counter from what I understand... is there a way to reset that from within ADB?
Edit: Sometimes the battery changes to a full green battery, but the overall condition remains the same.
Edit 2: It appears as though I cannot get it to go into ClockworkMod while plugged into a computer -- only while plugged into the wall. The same goes for yellow triangle recovery.
Edit 3: I rooted manually through ADB and flashed everything with ClockworkMod. Does that mean that I did not trip the flash counter? The only time I see I yellow triangle is when booting into download mode (which, again, I never used).
Edit 4: I just booted into download mode and it says "custom binary download: no." Very good! I have done a factory reset. Now all I have to worry about is the unlocked bootloader. Does somebody have a link to a stock rom that will relock the bootloader?

Phone will not boot into recovery but does boot into download mode

My phone is rooted with stock rom. The only changes are listed below
Froze bloat that was safe
changed bootanimation to stock samsung
replaced some apps with inverted versions of themselves (ex. google +, stock messaging)
Here goes:
I was using navigation and I noticed that my phone was off after I had finished. Nothing worked at all, I could not boot into recovery or download. I connected the phone to a charger and red led flashes and an empty battery appears. The battery was full. I could reboot the phone while on the charger, but it would shut off as soon as it got to the homescreen. While off, If I pressed the home button, the green battery would appear as if it were charging. From here I could boot into recovery and download mode. The phone will only boot into these modes while connected to the charger. Here is where it went bad. I attempted to restore a backup while the phone was on the car charger and my car charger got pulled out in the middle of a restore. No charger meant that the phone shut off mid restore. Now, when I plug in the phone, the red led appears and the empty battery with a circle inside appears and then goes away. This repeats itself over and over and the phone buzzes when the empty battery reappears. I can still boot into download mode but not recovery. If I try to flash the stock samsung rom via odin, it says that it passes, however upon automatic reboot the samsung appears and nothing else. After the samsung appears the phone just continues to buzz every 5 seconds or so as if it is trying to do something. Could it be a bootloop? I have done a ton of searching here and now I am resorting to help! Your time is appreciated and beers on me if you can help me get my phone back to normal.
try:
Section 6: Using Odin to flash back to Stock from any rom/ recover from a soft brick
*Move everything you dont want to lose from internal sdcard to external sdcard as this will reformat your internal sdcard!!
Step 1: Download and install these files to pc:
Odin- http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip
Samsung Driver- http://tinyw.in/Fdoz
Step 2: Download one of these Factory STOCK Bloated 4.0.4 roms and the stock kernel to your pc:
*You will need to unzip these files with a .zip program such as 7zip to extract the .tar files!
VRALG1- http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/C...w_ship.tar.zip(Yes this works with the stock VRALF2 kernel!)
VRALF2- http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/H...w_ship.tar.md5
Rooted Stock VRALF2 by MrRobinson(aka root66)- Here is the Torrent link
Stock VRALF2 Kernel- http://samsung-updates.com/kernel/Sa...LF2_Kernel.zip
Step 3: Power device off, then hold the volume down/home/power keys until you see a yellow triangle, then press the volume up key to access "download mode"
Step 4: Open Odin and connect the oem usb cable to pc & device, you should see a "comport #" in upper left hand corner of odin
Step 5: Uncheck auto reboot
Step 6: Click on the PDA function of odin and select the Stock Kernel you downloaded in step 2. Should take roughly 1 min, then odin will say pass/reset
Step 7: Click on the PDA function of odin and select the Stock Rom you downloaded in step 2. Should take less than 8 minutes, then odin will say pass/reset
Step 7: Disconnect usb cable, then pull and reinsert the battery
Step 8: Press and hold the volume up/home/power keys until you see a green android, you should boot into stock recovery
Step 9: Wipe data/factory reset
Step 10: Reboot! (You should now be booted into factory stock, locked, and bloated ICS 4.0.4)
*If your internal memory(EMMC) has corrupted data partitions and my method above wont recovery your device, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4#post30477064
And thank DroidStyle for providing this ^^
I will try your method. I believe I have completed these steps but I will try again. The link you supplied is not found.
Should the stock rom file be a .tar or .tar.md5? The kernel was a .tar and I have an official samsung vralf2 that is a .tar.md5
I tried your method and the empty battery is gone , but it doesnt get past the samsung on booting into recovery and continues to buzz every few seconds with a blank screen.
For some reason the phone will not recognize the battery. I tried a new one at verizon and the same thing. I can now boot into both recovery and download mode when connected to the charger , but the phone shuts off as soon as it boots and shows an empty battery with a circle in the middle. Sometimes it does not make it through the verizon boot animation and sometimes it makes it all the way to the homescreen and I can make a few selections before it turns off. After flashing the stock kernel and rom in odin I believe i am completely stock, however I do not want to chance sending the phone into Verizon. I believe that I saw a thread before this happened to me talking about having to calibrate the battery in some way and it had an item to flash in order to fix the problem. I can not find it now. Any ideas? Now that I can access recovery is there anything else that can be done? Why won't the phone recognize that it has a battery? As soon as I pull it off the charger it shuts off. When it is on the charger it appears to be charging and the green in the battery appears to be at about 80% but the level does not move up or down at all. Thank you for your help ahead of time.
I replied to your other thread seems to have been deleted.----- Boot into download mode and let it sit on the charger for 30 minutes, remove from charger pull and reinsert battery. Boot your phone regularly. Charge/profit

Ok i am in the process right now. Thank you, and I hope this works. If it does not and If i try to download bootchains , kernel, modem , and stock rom once again, is there any particular order that this should be done in? Also, is there any way that I can get cwm recovery on my phone? I can not get my computer to recognize the phone in download mode or recovery mode to push it with adb. If I could get cwm on the phone would wiping battery stats and fixing permissions do anything?

[Q] Possible Soft-Bricked VZW Galaxy SIII

Wife was running CleanRom 2.1 for a week or so. Yesterday she goes to wake the screen and the phone wouldn't wake by pushing any buttons. She pulled the battery and tried to boot the phone with no success. At this point we are stuck with the attached (IMG_01.jpg) image when plugging the phone into a USB port. Plug it into the wall charger and you get the same image however leaving it on this charge for a while brings IMG_02.jpg. Unplugging the phone from the cable results in no power at all to the device. This means no Download/Recovery Mode from battery only.
On to plugging into the computer. By quickly inserting the cable and pressing the keys to enter Download mode i can successfully enter Odin mode and flash files. From here i have flashed full stock images and still no full boot success.
So, next I can boot into recovery (sometimes, again only plugged in) I was able to wipe following stock odin flash. After rebooting from recovery i can see the samsung and galaxy sIII boot logos then the stock VZW 4GLTE boot animation(with sound). once i get to the language select screen and move to activation the phone shuts off and goes back to the empty battery with a circle in the center (IMG_01.jpg).
So far I have tried:
1. Different USB ports/cables - Incl. OEM (connection appears to be fine to the system either way though)
2. Flashing full stock images in odin with PASS results.
3. Ive tried to unbrick using the methods found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
Im looking for any help or suggestions on moving forward here. Overall there is no power to the device without plugging in the cable. I have tried another battery still with no power. I have thought about flashing the insecure bootloader however i have not found a way to do this in Odin if it is possible at all.
ODIN MODE (Reads as follows)
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLED
Thanks in advance for any help at all. If you share a similar problem please post as well, may help narrow down the cause and eventual fix.
With my ability to access ODIN MODE and boot to the setup screen, does this mean i have a good chance at recovery?
Looks like you might have a bad battery.
I tried another battery and that's not working.
This morning I had a green LED (charged) light. I woke the screen to the lock screen and it seemed to stay on. I couldnt get past the activation since the sim is no good. ( I had to deactivate it with vzw to activate a temp phone.) I eventually pulled the plug to see if it would hold charge but it just shut off and I wasn't able to boot up again.
The same thing happened to my first s3. You will need to get a replacement.

[Q] So I'm pretty sure my phone is now bricked, can anyone assist?

Well, I am quite certain i have bricked my phone. I was trying to flash CM9 from openrecovery and everything was normal. When the phone rebooted out of OR it stayed on the M logo for quite some time. I figured usually it takes awhile so I let it go. Needless to say, it didn't boot up or do anything, it was stuck. I pulled the battery and tried to put it into recovery mode. at first it looked as if it was going to go into recovery, had the progress bar at the bottom, but then it quickly went blank and the phone rebooted. I tried again. This time it gave me the triangle with the exclamation mark. I tried accessing the recovery option to hard reset and wipe the phone both with and without the SD card by pressing Volume up + Gallery key down + camera shutter. It did nothing. I have tried to access the bootloader, but to my horror, the phone will not go into bootloader mode for me to flash with RSD! No matter what button combination I try the phone just stays on the M logo, it will not go into bootloader mode. This is both with and without the SD card inserted. Battery is/should be 90-100%.
Any suggestions on what I can do at this point? Or is all hope lost? It is a Motorola XT720 (not Motoroi) Singapore model.
I forgot to also mention, when the M logo is on screen, pressing the gallery button turns on and off the flashlight (red light)

Help, please! Bricked Tab solutions?

Greetings!
The tab is DANY GENIUS TAB G4.
The tab was rooted with KingRoot android app and bootloader was accessed. But it got stuck in bootloader. My assumption is that I may have selected fastboot mode by mistake. But nothing happened after it, just stuck on the same bootloader screen. The battery died and tab didn't boot again in any way, nor did it showed to be charging.
One of the solutions related to charging it for a while worked to some extent as it finally showed charging screen. But upon booting up, only the LCD turned on with nothing but dark screen (no logo, nothing) - and that too only till the power button was held down. However, the bootloader was accessible. But in bootloader, nothing seemed to work. There are three options in the bootloader:
- System Recovery
- Fastboot mode
- Reboot
I tried entering system recovery but when I selected it, the tab would turn off immediately. I then tried selecting "Reboot", the tab again turned off immediately with no screen/logo or whatsoever. I did not try connecting it to PC at this point.
Could it be that ROM has been damaged? I already found and downloaded its drivers and ROM on PC. The tab hasn't booted since last time nor gets detected by PC, so I'm once again leaving its battery to be depleted for hours and try charging again. I plan to reinstall the ROM on it, if it does gets detected by PC.
My question is,
1. Is there anything else I should try first?
2. Any way to make PC detect it if it doesn't gets detected next time I boot into bootloader/flash mode?
3. Why isn't bootloader working?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here's the list of things that I tried before charging it worked:
1. Hold power button for 1 minute while on charging, as well as without charging.
2. Hold power + volume up (bootloadder combination) for 60 seconds. While on charging + without charging.
3. Connected to computer. Repeated step 2 and 1 along with it.
4. Flash a bright light on its light sensor while holding power button. Also try volume down or up button along with it. As well as on charging + without charging.
5. The charging one was actually tried before, but it only worked when I left it for about 10+ hours without charging and then to charge till the charging screen showed up on its own.
More Information:
The tab was first Factory Reset from the settings, then rooted with the KingRoot 'android app' (not PC). But since there was no SuperSU or related app automatically installed, SuperSU was installed separately. Upon installing SuperSU, a messsage appeared saying something like,"Binary not updated".
The bootloader was accessed to wipe cache partition. It took sometime so it was left alone. It rebooted normally, so assuming it was successful, it was booted into bootloader again.
It was at this point that bootloader got stuck, and I assume that it may have to do with selecting fastboot mode.
Resolved!
It's the third day, and the tab was once again left for its battery to be depleted for around 15 hours and then plugged in to charge for about an hour. It once again finally showed charging screen, but screen would turn on with no logo or anything else (same as before). Thou, before charging screen showed up, tab was removed from charging for a little while this time.
The tab was left to charge for about half an hour before charging screen showed up and then booted again. This time it booted normally and was working fine!
For those who may encounter the same problem, keep trying for at least a week before finally giving up. Here's a few suggestion that some people gave me to try:

3. Play dumb. If it's on warranty, do a warranty claim. They won't be able to tell it's rooted since it doesn't boot up and nothing works.

Attempted to restore pixel 2 - now bricked? Help request.

I was trying to restore by custom rom Pixel 2 to stock to give to my father, I downloaded the latest restore pack from google and flash it with flashall.bat, it seemed to be flashing OK but then showed an error at the end, so i tired to reboot and try again but after rebooting it now won't show anything on the screen.
Now the phone screen is black, if I told the power button for approx 30seconds it vibrates and quickly flashes something on the screen, but I can't get into the bootloader and my laptop doesn't see it as a fastboot device.
I let it power down overnight and could get into the charging screen, but after leaving it to charge for a while it still won't go to bootloader mode when i turn it on with power down held down.
Did I brick it? any help much appreciated!
