XPERIA MIRO RECOVERY DEVELOPMENT
HEY GUYS
all the updates on recovery development for xperia miro would be here so plz follow the thread any suggestions and help would be appreciated.
first of all i need stock recovery.img so plz any one do one of these steps and give me the recovery.img
Extract this file and put it into your android /system/bin and give 755 permision for recovery, run in by command "/system/bin/recovery"
here is the file- recovery.rar here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1480937&d=1352889359
Basically u need adb/android SDK before proceed.
[WITH ROOT ACCESS]
[+] Dump/copy recovery.img
Code:
Command prompt :
> adb shell
> su
> dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 of=/sdcard/recovery.img
[WITHOUT ROOT ACCESS]
Currently only /system is usable
Code:
1) Android SDK (just need adb)
2) Download busybox
3) Command prompt :
> adb push busybox /data/local/busybox
> adb shell
> cd /sdcard/
> chmod 755 /data/local/busybox
> /data/local/busybox tar cvf sysdump.tar /system
4) Ignore tar: error exit delayed from previous errors'. Is done correctly.
i could have done more work but i don't have the device you could also help me by donating me to buy a miro here

But you do not have root on your smartphone?

I'm afraid miro don't have recovery partition. newer android device store the recovery stuff inside the kernel ramdisk. thus, if we want a cwm on newer android device, we should build a custom kernel. there's a trick used in sola to install custom recovery without installing custom kernel but I doubt that trick will work on miro/tipo since our init.rc is a lil different with sola.

err..this is bad news..to build a custom kernel i dont know if we have someone..i wish nobodyatall buys this phone..oe of the best x8 developer i ever seen..

well...we don't have to build the entire kernel. I mean, we still can use the zImage taken from stock kernel but we should build our own ramdisk with cwm inside it. I know that kernel development isn't easy. my old sgy need more than 6 months till it get it's first custom kernel.

Need help on how to root xperia miro (st23i) with 11.0.A.5.5

Hello, I need help rooting my xperia miro (st23i) with 11.0.A.5.5 firmware, but I need it explained with details. I know that there's already open theme for it, but in it it says that I should have my device rooted previosly on firmware 11.0.A.1.0 and my device is already updated to 11.0.A.5.5. I commented in that theme but it seems that the audience doesn't see the "little" comments, so I opened a new theme.

If you have had root in 11.0.A.2.10 firmware, follow these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014188

Did you fastboot the fxp 151 kernel first? Also did you replace it in the .zip folder of the fxp 152 before flashing rom?

Hello . Thanks for all your work. I have installed TWRP , taken backup and now I am at peasce.
As a sidenote I was looking forward to improved touch response in ST8. But after installing TWRP I am finding that the touch response in the recovery is also similar. This tells me that touch performance may not be a issue with the ROM. Maybe the hardware can do only so much

Ozadroid thanks for the awesome work. But are you working on porting the latest version of TWRP ?
As the thread title say we are currently using TWRP 2.4.1.0 and i the latest version is TWRP 2.4.3.0.
Or is there some issue with the latest version on our ST8 or ST10?
Just asking out of curiosity buddy. I am satisfied with this one too.

Any luck getting this bootable from a uImage_recovery on the SD card instead of only being able to replace the partition? If you can get it bootable by placing it on the SD card then I can probably put together a package for people to unbrick their tablets by ADB.

Not sure if this will work, but you can try this:
Flash the flashable stock ROM, when it's done, turn your phone of, connect it to the pc, and flash the stock kernel.sin.
It's in the FTF files, you can extract it from there. That's the only way I think you could fix your phone as fast as possible. Also, when flashing this stock ROM you must format system and do a wipe data/factory reset, like usual.
If you feel less internal memory;
If you feel that your internal memory is LOW after clean installation,
install a root browser and navigate to the /Data folder and delete ALL of the Lost+Found folder !

In fact, it would be the best to do.
I tried several time the vengeance kernel and it don't work on my device.
You could customize this flashable ROM by adding CWM...and removing bloatware.

Install process CWM on 0.31
Matej Dude,
Thanks for providing such great ROM and that too on latest Firmware..
I am downloading this and will also test AVD ROM soon ..
Will try to let you know the outcome.
Just wanted to tell you that in the original post you have only written "step 2. Install CWM"
that step itself needs a lot .. I found this thread for the same http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333078
or is there a CWM for LBL on JB that I may have missed ?

Yes , I found this link working and was able to get CWM recovery on 0.31
though I have to flash in and out .75 and .31 kernels
Ok If I leave this link aside . and full flash 0.31 ROM and then Root with Doomlord kit.
how do I get CWM for flashing your ROM
really want to try this awesome Deodexed ROM.

thanks man.. there's a lot of struggle if you have a locked bootloader.
I am really thinking of unlocking it.. have used my XJ ( and android OS ) for a good 6 months now. just taken TA backup of my device.
now really in a mood to push this device to its limits.
many thanks for keeping the XJ dev scene alive . FXP declared this a legacy set. I guess only high end devices attract developers now a days.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Someone reported that issue too. I'm going to ask Sony developers what's wrong with their source.
I will do my best to fix it.

Can you provide a link of your GitHub repo?
It looks like a problem with modules

I didn't upload source to github yet, my Internet connection is too slow.
Source is available on Sony Developers site.
http://developer.sonymobile.com/dow...es/open-source-archive-for-build-18-0-c-1-13/
I can upload modules, will you test them? I have KitKat installed so I can't test every part of the kernel.
@Garcia98 I uploaded all kernel modules. Link in the first post.
And found this, possible fix for our WiFi (Z1 has identical problem I guess)

First of all sorry for not having answered yesterday, I forgot it xD
As I suspected, in kernel modules there's no WiFi module (wlan.ko), I think that that's the reason why WiFi is not working.
wlan.ko is a link to pronto/pronto_wlan.ko btw
Kitkat kernel with CWM is ready. Confirmed working, I tested on my own device.
But WiFi doesn't work again.
I will try to somehow compile pronto_wlan.ko module.

I didn't take any logs because I run out battery, now my xperia is charging. Tomorrow morning I'm moving to another city so it will take me a while to investigate this issue.
It would be different if someone could just take a logcat for me :<

OK, don't worry.
I keep thinking that this problem is related to modules, Tianchi kernel source code doesn't have any change regarding Pronto nor WiFi modules, however I asked to Abhinav if they have had any kind of problems with WiFi.
BTW, did you compile kernel with toolchain and then packing zImage with ramdisk into boot.img or did you run make bootimg command in Android source code?
Works on D2302 also!

I compiled zImage with linaro toolchain, then I generated dt.img and used Ramdisk from stock and put everything together using mkbooting binary.
When you download sony source it doesn't have option make bootimage because it doesn't have device tree and so on. Just pure kernel source and externals.
