[Q] Root Galaxy Blaze after 4.0.4. update using Mac - General Questions and Answers

I apologize if my question has been already responded (although I've searched the forum) but I would like to know the steps to root my Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4g. Currently, I have updated its OS version to 4.0.4 via Kies.
I only have a macbook air (not PC) and I heard about heimdall software.
Does anybody have steps how to root my phone using heimdall (or any other mac software for the rooting purpose)?
Is there any thread on this forum explaining it?
I consider myself as a beginner in rooting phones so any tip would be appreciated.
Thank you.

[Q] Galaxy S

I have and unlocked Galaxy S that was previously on Orange.I now an o2 sim installed but Kies will not let me update to Froyo?
Any suggestions?
wrong section possibly?
try putting this under the captivate forum or device specific. it will bring a crowd that will be better apt to answer you,
update without kies
I think you should update without kies. There are so many custom rom here in this forum and tutorial on how to update/upgrade using Odin.

[VZW] Root Methof for Mac

Does anyone know of a working root method that works on a Mac for a Verizon SGS3?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3
Omg SEARCH!!! there are at least 5-7 open threads about this bro. Short answer: it doesn't work on any s3 U.S. variant until heimdall releases update to support it
Tried!

Hey i was going to ask that! lol I tried using VBox but no good even on multiple versions of windows and as both VMs/Harddisk ways.
Connecting android and apple devices together should be outlawed!!
I have all Apple & Hackintosh computers and I just used my Parallels VM with Win7 and Odin with no problems to root, flash and recover. I know it's not the answer your looking for but it does indeed work with no problems.
Help Please

EDIT;

rootzwiki.com/index.php?/topic/30148-Definitely-canNOT-root-verzion-s3-with-virtual-box#entry845614
But this is just a root method so it does not give you a stock .img/.iso tho flash like Odin does...

[Q] Root for Skyrocket with Jelly Bean and Mac

Hello,
This is my very first post so sorry if this is creating a new thread that shouldn't exist. I have a Macbook Pro and I recently got the official Jelly Bean from Rogers (it's like AT&T in Canada) for my Galaxy S II LTE. I want to root my phone but would also like to have the option to unroot it in case I need to turn my phone in for the warranty.
Can someone give me a simple (n00b) step-by-step explanation on how to root my phone?
Thanks
Questions belong in q&a just for future notice and always read read the stickies and use search to avoid being flamed

like hechoen says in the other thread, use Heimdall, or borrow a pc, just takes a few minutes.
im uploading a flashable deodexed rooted w/mohans kernelk, will be done soon.
to return to stock ics via cwm/twrp(no odin needed) read my howto restore to stock guide, good for warranty repair when having a dead usb port, driver issues and for mac users
Best way to root with Mac is throwing it off a bridge then get a pc.

[Q] Question about rooting Galaxy Note II (AT&T SGH-I317)

Downloaded the toolkit from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052779
I have the AT&T SGH-I317... unfortunately, the toolkit lists the Android version of my phone as 4.1.1, but my phone automatically downloaded and installed 4.1.2 the first time I used it the other day. My question is, do I need to wait for the toolkit to be updated with 4.1.2 for my specific phone, or alternatively, would it be safe to use the 4.1.1 version in the toolkit, or use one of the other ones listed as version 4.1.2.
I'm perfectly happy to wait if necessary. Don't want to take any chances of messing up my new phone. This will be my first rooting or unlocking of any kind. I'm an adept PC user but phones are new territory for me.
So, if someone knows how I should proceed, I'd be very grateful for the assistance. I'm asking this here because I'm a new member and can't yet post in the developer forums.
Thanks!
I haven't tried the toolkit since the latest update. I know the Sprint version has CF-Auto root. Check your thread for that one. It worked for me after the 4.1.2 update with no issues.

[Completed] Need Correct Instructions on Rooting Galxy S5 5.0 Sprint GM900p

hello. I need the exact instructions that actually work to root my galaxy s5 5.0. the root methods on forums never work and I know exactly how to root the phone. but no one gives all the information on exactly how to do it. this is a replacement phone. I had the last version of Android rooted but the instructions on rooting that didn't work also and I had to use an app. I see where people have said you need Android bootloader but bootloader doesn't work through Odin. So can't actually put a custom recovery like TWRP on the phone using Odin. Is there another method that people aren't telling us that actually work or is there an app that can root. Had to use towelroot on my last phone because the rooting method never works. And I have been flashing ROMs for years on multiple phones so i know what needs to be downloaded. Just method can't work for everyone ununfortunately. If anyone has any information on how I can root my phone now that I'm on Android 5.0 would be much appreciated. Or if it's impossible to root the phone now that I'm on Android 5.0. If anyone can tell me that I would appreciate that too. Thnx
