Car holder and charger - Nexus 4 Accessories

Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a decent car windscreen holder and charger for a Nexus 4? Obviously won't be an official one or anything just something you've used for a similar device that works well. I've gone through two car holders recently because they were cheap rubbish. And my charger didn't actually charge properly it just slowed down the rate the battery drained!

May want to change the title from CARD holder.
I will be using the generic holder that Samsung sells for their S3.

I have been using ProClips for years now with every phone I have had. I emailed they last week and they will have mount for my new N4 in Jan 2013. I will surly be getting one. They are very good.

I've used this arkon mount with the GNex, so it will work with the N4. I have it mounted to the dash in this vid (it has a sticky suction cup similar to clingo material) but it can also be mounted on the windshield. I plan on getting an N4 soon and this is my mount of choice for when I'm in a car (usually ride a motorcycle).

Here is my nexus 4 with the cheap and cheerful Spider holder, I like it because its light and easy to move from car to car,and can be used as stand, I dislike it because it goes on the vent and if heating is on it can heat up the phone.

I also use ProClip and will wait for them to have it for the N4.

I will just be mounting one of the wireless orbs to my dash. This is what I used when I rocked the Palm Pre and loved it! Obviously I was using the touchstone charger at the time.

Going by previous history, hopefully Brodit will have one out in within a month.
Personally I think I'm going to try and mod a GNex Brodit holder to fit, if that's at all possible.

does anyone of you know, if there will be a car holder, which supports the wireless charging function?
if there will be one, i'll wait to buy a car holder, but if there won't be such a thing i'll buy an other one...

We here at iBOLT.co will bring out a new and very sleek car-dock compatible with the Nexus 4 in the 2nd half of December. It will work with all cases too and have an integrated charger. The challenge is that it appears that Google completely removed the support for "car-dock" mode in the 4.1.2 Jellybean for the Nexus 4. This means that even if we incorporate an NFC tag to start "car-dock" applications like "CarHome Ultra" the home button will not go back to the car-dock app screen, but revert back to the default Nexus 4 screen so you can't really toggle between apps without starting from zero...

For Brodit fans I'm using a passive iPhone 3GS holder that is designed to be used with a case on the phone. Works well with my naked N4 and should cope with whatever case / bumper I wind up using too.
It's adjustable and worked for my Galaxy Nexus as well.
They are quite keenly priced as well.

I personally don't like car mode. Add long add it has an nfc tag and wireless charging I'm sold.

Seconded. Wireless charging is top priority in a car dock at this point.

Having a charger that activates car mode somehow is a must for me. Driving on the road without having easily accessible applications is too dangerous.
With my current phone (S2 Skyrocket) I tried the Infuse dock that was said to work with it. However it wasn't snug enough so it never activated car mode defeating the purpose of it. This is why I'm hesitant to buy other phone car docks...
Or are there other methods of activating car mode (without tasker)?

I know back in the days of my nexus one you could just launch the car mode app and it would activate car mode. No tasker required. Although tasker makes everything so much simpler

Well I didn't use the default car mode app, I used Car Dashboard.
And how would you use Tasker for it? The only thing that would work is if you set a Tasker profile to start any time a USB charger would be plugged in right?

You can trigger car mode from within Tasker - I'm using Tasker to make a home grown Zoom "car mode" widget visible when paired to my bluetooth

The Proclip holder for the Infuse 4G and the Optimus G may work. I'm gonna pick one, not sure which yet, now while there's a 25% Black Friday sale.
Infuse 4G: 71 mm wide x 9 mm thick
Optimus G: 68.9 mm wide x 8.5 mm thick
Nexus 4: 68.7 mm wide x 9.1 mm thick
So if I go with the Infuse holder, it will have 1 mm space to each side but the thickness is about perfect.
If I go with the Optimus, the phone will be 0.6 mm too thick and I may have to sand down the holder.
I think the Infuse holder may be the best bet and least hassle.

I'm using the Samsung universal dock and it is working pretty well for my nexus 4.

Car Dock?

Would really like to get a nice car dock/clip to use, hopefully one that allows the keyboard to be opened while it's in the dock, and be charging/3.5mm plugged in.

Hey,
First post.
I just got the G2 and a Satachi SCR-31. The universal mount (plus a iPhone mount) works perfect with the G2. It has a clever button on the back that adjusts the width of the holder. Plus cushy sides.

Can you open and use the keyboard with that mount? It doesn't look like you can, but maybe that's just from the pictures I'm looking at.
It may be possible... I'll give it a try tomorrow. I worried that it will be precarious, but we shall see.
it works!
I tested it this afternoon and it works with the keyboard open or closed! I will add photos in the following post.

Nice toyota (scion?) but thanks for the pictures!
wow that's pretty neat. i wouldn't mind getting one.
My head unit has A2DP so I stream music to my car over bluetooth. I would also like to use the navigation feature of the G2 so I would like a car mount, and one with a car charger built in to it would be amazing so I could run the cable so it's not in the way and just leave it plugged in and set my phone down in it and it would charge automatically (I'm lazy, so sue me.)
I kind of doubt that anyone will make one of these for the G2 because those types of car mounts are kind of rare, so I was looking at ones that might be compatible. Motorola makes one for the Droid X that looks like it actually might work. Check out the size comparison:
http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/T-Mobile-G2-phone-size-compare-pc_4839.html (pick Droid X from the drop down)
and if you click on the side view and line up the phones, you can tell that the USB port is in pretty much exactly the same spot. The G2 is smaller, but wider. I don't think the extra width will be a problem since A. the mount has some extra room to accomidate a case, and B. the front lip is purely cosmetic and could easily be filed down.
It might be kind of ugly, only because the G2 is a little bit shorter than the Droid X.
As you see from this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaxqSDkcmP0
The Droid X mount has a removable sleeve so in my mind that pretty much guarentees that it will fit the G2. I'm thinking about buying one to see.
What do you guys think?
What about like this one being used for the Desire? The HTC Desire and the G2 have very similar specs...minus that pesky thickness!
G2- 4.69 in (119mm) x 2.38 in (60.4mm) x .56 in (14.1mm)
Desire- 4.69 in (119mm) x 2.36 in (60mm) x .47 in (11.9mm)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgtEDCWpLgY
I like that one too but is it clipped on to the air vent ... I want to say slits? Or is it clipped somewhere else?
Also, I think the tob clip would have to be filed somewhere cause the 3.5mm jack is almost in the middle of the device so the poses to be a problem.

Im not quite sure, honestly I hope its the air vent. My phone gets sooooo hot when in my car in GPS mode. Being near and in shot of the air vent would surely help, no?
Hmm, come to think of it, Im pretty sure that Desire I posted was in an Iphone 3GS car dock. You think the G2 would fit into Iphone 3GS ****? Id imagine no but like ive said, G2 very similar in size to Desire besides the extra heft in thickness.
It's worth a shot but someone has to guinea pig it for us. I would but I don't get paid till next week and that's a little long to wait for an answer.
I really wouldn't mind trying one of them out though. The droid x dock looks a tad bit more promising imho...

The desire dock in that video doesn't appear to have any charging capibilities, which I would like. I think I'm going to shell out the 35 for this droid x dock. Worst case, I just resell it

Wait bud, we have another thread opened about a bluetooth option for the car. Charging the device became a concern there as well but a few ideas came out.
Now these 2 threads can mingle, you should refer to it to see if there is a better alternative...

Well if you're concerned about having space to plug in an aux cord, then maybe the droid x car mount is right for you. There is going to be a bit of extra space at the top of the phone since the droid x is taller than the g2. Personally, I have a head unit with bluetooth and a2dp so I don't need an aux cable.

That couldn't work, the N1 charge port is on the bottom of the phone instead of the side, and I think it may be MiniUSB instead of Micro.. (not sure though)
My Droid X car dock will get here tomorrow, and I'm going on a little road trip this weekend right after I get off work so I'll probably post an update, and if the dock works I'll put up a youtube video of it too.

Yeah, that'd be great if you could. Also you would have to run this without a case right?
Not necessarily, the droid X dock has a removable insert to accomidate cases. You might have to do some slight modifications to get one to fit. I don't have a case to test it with but I'll definitely see if it looks like there will be extra room.

LG optimus 3D Dock

Hi,
Is there anyone who bought one of those aftermarket LG 3D dock's such as this one on ebay:
www.ebay.nl/itm/Dockingstation-Lade...gstationen&hash=item27c0562090#ht_1089wt_1139
www.ebay.nl/itm/Dockingstation-Lade...gstationen&hash=item35b632025e#ht_2326wt_1139
I'm wondering if they thought about the little piece of plastic covering the USB connector, a part from that it seems a pretty nice way to store the phone next to say you bed or on you desk.
Any thoughts?

Update: nevermind, fixed
Bought it a couple of days ago.
- Yes, they thought about the USB covering.
- Unfortunately they forgot about the headphone jack. It's not accessible. To make it accessible you have to use a dremel or similar tool to cut away a bit of the rail which helps the phone slip into it's place.
- Two of my batteries sometimes lose contact when in the charger. Most times they charge well.
- The blue power indicator is very bright.
- Due to the phone's angle of 55° when in the stand the stand is best used on a desk when looking down on it from an angle.
Cool. Thanks, i connect my p920 to the stereo via bluetooth anyway, but thanks for the info!

the SDT-190 has no additional battery charger
it's more expensive
was hoping for the other dock to allow the phone wearing a gel case (it doesn't)
Ordering SDT-190 from LG Shop @ 16 Euro
PS. I just hope they will have it in stock.
And it has arrived - directly from LG Poland - took only 1 working day for the order to be processed and delivered by UPS.
Three pics as attached below.
Feels solid, heavy and of excellent build quality.
As you can see, it has two connectors: micro USB and micro HDMI
The phone's ports have those covers, which once you turn them 180 degrees hide into cavities which are located on both sides of connectors (on the dock).
Sliding into ports is easy and comfortable - no extra force or pressure is needed to place the phone into the dock - as well as no extra effort is needed to navigate the ports onto the connectors.
The cut you see on the left hand side is provided for the mini jack port (audio output), so that headphones or external speakers can be plugged in - yes we would prefer the audio port to be at the back at the dock, but this is good enough.
The USB port at the back enables us to charge the phone via USB cable (also works for connecting the phone to a PC as a USB mass storage) or the mains charger.
The docking station is ideal for everyday charging as well as watching movies, or YT
I believe it may also work as a stand when using a Bluetooth keyboard - one that I am waiting to arrive - excellent set up for typing vant numbers of emails and messages while away from our computer/away from home.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and I do think I would buy any other dock imitating the genuine original LG accessory.

Did your bluetooth keyboard work and what model did you use?
no it didnt work. only CM7 has L2CAP Bluetooth Protocol open/supported, and that's needed to connect the keyboard properly.
So I've sold it...
will this work?
any way to add bluetooth support?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/clearance/on-sale/e0e7/
you need to read the product description to see which OS it supports, or ask the seller.
you can't just turn the L2CAP protocol on just like that.

Simple but amazing Orb Car Mount (Too Many Pics)

I would like to first like to state that I am amazed by the stability of the orb as a car mount. I have been searching high and low, thinking about settling on the Owl car mount, waiting on the Nokia car mount (going as far as purchasing the Nokia Wireless Charging Plate, for testing purposes only to return it due to it sucking) or just giving up and getting the old faithful ProClip / Brodit charging dock specifically for our phone( didn't want to spend 70 buck on the one specifically for the bumper only later to decide to run naked).
I knew that I would be ordering a couple of orbs (office and nightstand) but the thought crossed my mind," Hey what if I build( or have built) a mount around the orb?" SO I sat down with a friend of mine who does metal work and did some explaining of my idea. Basically I would mount the orb to the back of a piece of 3/32 or thinner aluminum folded on three sides, with a three inch whole cut into the center of the mount and then fasten it to the den under my car stereo. Simple enough for him to pull off, but not like it would happen overnight.
So, I received my Orb Wednesday, drove home and started brainstorming, I present to you that brain storm.

Used a disk from one of the millions of car mount I have had in the past
I double stacked some 3M double side sticky tape, in order to level out the cars change compartment. The double side tape sticks to the console in order to keep the tray door from opening while leveling the disk out..
I then cut ( read tore) more double side sticky tape, doubled it up an d placed it within the cut out on the bottom of the Orb. Make sure you leave the tape's paper on it and get a good feel of the rotation you want. I rode with it for a day, angled toward my drivers seat. During my re-install, I chose to have it straight forward
I simply lined the Orb up parallel, but some may find it more comfortable or ergonomic to slant it toward the drivers seat.
So there is no question of the stability of the phone on the orb, I drive a V6 Honda Accord W/ manual transmission. It is ridiculously fast and has 2 Diamond Audio 10's on 1100 watt amp along with 600 watts on Focal mids and highs. I only mention this to give you an understanding that I put the Orb to the test, hitting S-curve entry ramp at 70+mph while accelerating onto the highway, banging 2-mello's latest Chrono The car was vibrating, mirrors shaking and moving at pretty decent acceleration and deceleration rates. I took hard rights and lefts, went over horrible railroad tracks, and NOTHiNG moved the phone at ALL.
If you have any questions, ask away.
Ride around with GPS on while charging on it. Let me know if you have issues.
I'll check it out tomorrow, on my easy to work.

I loaded Google Navigation, connected to Bluetooth, launched Player Pro and started my 18 minute commute to work this morning. I have a clear view of the sky (no skyscrapers) all of the way to work. I never lost GPS signal, kept screen on in navigation, music playing and I gained 1% for battery status. I'd say it works perfectly for my needs. I may still have a riser built to bring it up higher but I see no reason to shield the phone from rocking or falling off of the orb

Is it weird to have to look down while driving to do stuff on your phone?

Yeah I refuse to use windshield ones too, and unfortunately the proclip mount for my car is too far to the right for me to reach with ease, not to mention having to look right every time I need to touch it.
I have a place like yours that I could put the Orb too.. but does that location ever get in the way of your shifter?
Not at all. I can actually place it landscape or portrait. Only downfall is, which isn't a big deal, I now prefer to be in 2nd, 4th, 6th for a better line of site. Honestly though, I may have a friend build a short platform for it out of some nice expanded stainless steel... maybe 4 inches. I'll update with pics when I do
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
A little update, I did some driving today and had the phone in portrait. Accelerated fairly fast from a stand still in order to hit a very big bump that I knew was in the road and the phone shifted a little. Enough that Tasker noticed a change in state and turned off Bluetooth, and then right back on. So basically the phone is more stable in horizontal state when accelerating. It didn't fall off of the orb, but did shift enough to stop charging for a micro second.

I am planning the same sort of setup, if only I can get hold of an Orb in Australia!
Do you actually need to use the plastic disc from your old car kit? As it happens I have one lying around too, but thought I could simply double sided tape the orb directly to the console on my Golf. Looks like you could have done this too. Why not? To date I have been propping my N4 in much the same location as you have in my Golf and I find the maps easy enought to use there. Not so good for hands free though, unless car has BT which mine does not.
Does the charger end of the micro USB cable that comes with the unit terminate in a regular USB connector?

I chose to use the disc in order to solidify my placement, my car has a change compartment and a cigarette lighter compartment, which have doors that open when pushed. I took the disc to "nail" the change door to my console to keep it from opening. I dont see why you couldn't double side it directly to your console, keep in mind, it has a small divot in the bottom, that will require you to double up on common sticky tape. I do in fact have BT in my car, so it is very convenient. The orb has a female end of a usb, so you can use any charger you choose. I had previously ran a micro-usb to my car mount for my S3(infuse), so I just plugged it in. I have an iLuv cigarette adapter and it seems to work great as far as charging time.
I have been brainstorming on how to modify a case as a sort of life jacket, while giving people some reassurance for their device. I actually have a second bumper that I have been giving some thought to, but honestly I feel completely safe where its at. Of course if someone wanted to mount it higher, I could see it would be a little scary.

UPDATE (6/6): Photos on this post
Hey guys,
So if anyone you follow me closely, you guys will know that I'm a big fan of wireless charging accessories (especially when it comes to making things universal). Being the big supporter that I am, I have wireless charging pads in multiple locations employed as I am trying to go completely cable-less. However, there has always been one thing missing that would be able to truly make this wireless charging experience complete; and that is a Wireless Charging Car Dock.
Well luckily ladies and gentleman, after hours of searching, I have found us a great solution to that problem!
This is a combination of a product that is brought to you by one of our own members here at XDA: Original Thread Here
This is called the Owl Carpad Qi Wireless Charging Car Mount - Sale Link for Galaxy S III

In addition with another product:
This is called the Samsung S4 Wireless Receiver (confirmed with NFC working) - Sale Link (Video Review)
Or another listing of Samsung S4 Wireless Receiver (thinnest with NFC working) - Sale Link (Video Review)
Or official Samsung Galaxy S4 Wireless Charging Back Cover - Black or White
The great thing about this wireless charging receiver/insert is that you can use ANY battery cover with it (stock, flip cover, S-View cover, etc...) and the Galaxy S III OWL Carpad should be compatible with the Galaxy S4.
If anyone wants this solution, I have currently purchased the Galaxy S III OWL Carpad and preordered the Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit and will be testing as soon as I receive it and will be sure to let you guys know but I am quite confident that these will be compatible.

Looking forward to the review! Make sure you include a long drive in it running GPS and see if it charges up the phone or loses battery - I really want to love wireless charging, but it seems like it's just limited to home use right now because it will only do 1A and this phone really does need 2A to get it charged!

Cant wait! If it actually charges while screen is on and GPS and Mobile Data is being used I will definitely do this in my car!
Found a new link for a Samsung Galaxy S4 Receiver that is currently available! - Link (Added to OP)
The pad insert on ebay says its 500mA. Is that normal for qi pads?
Do u think that higher ones would be available later?

500mA is a little bit on the low side but I think they put that there as a general estimate. I see another sale put one of the same but rated in description 500mA to 700mA. See Here
There's also this one but can't tell what they rate it for.
How thick of case?

How thick of a case could you get away with? I am shopping for a good rugged case, I am really hard on phones.
did it work
was wondering if you had a chance to try this out an if the charge is enough to keep your phone going?

Appreciate you posting this- this is my BIG quandry- replacing my car and Desktop dock. I plan to use a Otterbox commuter case. Some you tube's are out there on HTC DNA showing wireless works even with a Defender.
Wondering if you plan to use a case and if there is a recommendation for a desk dock - or should I just use the car dock on my desk?

This is what I'm wondering too.
I've read about chargers that could work up to one and a half inches while others say "any" added case will prevent charging.

There is a 26 minute video of the guy trying this charger out. It appears that with GPS and Screen on you will hold charge and maybe charge at 100mA. The connector is also coax, not USB so i will need to redo my wiring job i did so I do not have to use a cigarette lighter. Also much was made about it getting hot with GPS on and to stick it by the AC vent.
My Droid X (replacing) got smoking hot anytime GPS was on anyway and with a wired charger- maybe charged at 1% per 20 minutes.
It comes form Korea by a couple fo guys it appears. So it looks like you need to order the dock and the S4Qi kit for the phone. I am still looking for what the best desk dock is because I need to use it for work phone (speaker mode required)
Received my Qi receiver, NFC antenna extender, and wireless charging pad yesterday.
The actual wireless charging car dock should be coming in tonight! Will get more pics for you guys.
Also added more receivers to OP.

the design of the receiver on the phone looks better than previous- wider at base and looks like adhesive for it as well?
What is the rating of the charger?- 1500mA?- will be interesting to see if GPS+Screen still allows a slight charge.
also any ideas for a deck dock would be appreciated- iI have a otterbox commuter case
Have some photos for you guys on next post
EDIT: Didn't get a chance to test it today because the receiver I have doesn't align properly with the dock so it doesn't charge. Confirmed with the seller which receiver works and purchased that one. Should be coming next week.

You need to use a specific receiver?
Which one is recommended?

Looks like it's 1A output which is below the 1.5 amp on other wireless chargers. I ma not expert by any stretch but from what i researched that means ~700mA to the phone. Another version put 1A actually to the phone and with GPS on and screen it made 1%/10min charge,
Here is the 1A reciever which usually goes with a 1.5A charger http://www.ecrater.com/p/18004506/qi-standard-wireless-charger-charging?gps=1&id=52211034499
Seems like this will hold but not actually charge with GPS and screen- will be interesting to see.
I have found a desk charger I may get - but it's 1A which may be ok since i won't have GPS on at the house

Impossible to find good car mount for Pixel?

I've never had a car mount before and finally decided to get one for my Pixel. I searched tons of websites and all over Amazon trying to find ones that would not block the Pixel's power or volume buttons at all. I ordered and received two from Amazon to try them out and then realized both of them block the finger print sensor in the back. I like the smaller mount and the way it holds the pixel diagonally by the corners but with the bigger mount I would be able to mark the mount where the finger print sensor will be and drill a hole which would let me unlock with my fingerprint.
Are there no mounts out there that would not interfere with the power/volume buttons or finger print sensor??
Or is there some kind of "car mode" feature or app that would allow the pixel to be unlocked without needed fingerprint or PIN? So if the screen goes off while in the mount I can just press the power button to wake it.
I also just remembered I have samsung NFC stickers that I never used from when I had my GS3. Couldn't I stick one of them in my car and set the app so that my phone stays unlocked when around it?? I have no clue I never used them before so not exactly sure how they work.

You don't like magnetic mounts? Those do not block the sides. Also, there are auto apps that let you navigate big huge buttons for SMS, calls, maps, etc. Then there are apps that offer driving mode that speak aloud for incoming messages, calls. Or, you can also use OK Google to wake up the phone if you want to go that route.
RAM X-Mount is a little pricey but 100% worth it! I can position my phone (6P with unicorn beetle rugged case) in it so that the top left support lands right in-between the power button and volume up button this way I can also reach around behind with my index and unlock it via biometrics. Your phone will never fall out and RAM has tons of mounting accessories so you can get extensions or articulating arms for going around things or whatever.

I've never tried them I hear mixed things about having magnets against a phone. I would try but the vents in my car can't close (2000 Dodge Durango) so I don't want hot air blowing against it all the time. :/
Wait I just realized my head unit has Bluetooth. I've never used it before. Can't I set up smart unlock so its always unlocked when in my car? If that works then I can just use the one from the first picture.
Here's my Scosche magnetic mount for one of my spare phones. It's clipped to the vent. I also have the telescope magnetic mount. It's super stable.
Right about the hit air. I closed that vent off.
There is an app in the play store called Screen On that keeps the screen on. I use it on my motorcycle all the time.
Yes you can use Smart Lock with Bluetooth.
Or buy the app "Tasker" and set up a car profile that keeps your screen on when in your car. Best app on the Play Store. Automates your life, basically.

I read some stuff about doing it this way. It will basically do the same thing right? Stay unlocked while connected to Bluetooth?
I'm not interested in keeping the screen on while in the car I would rather have it just stay unlocked and not need a pin or fingerprint to unlock when the screen goes off.

If screen on isn't needed and you are Bluetoothed to the car what you need is built in.

Been very happy with ProClip
I've been using the same ProClip mount for my last three phones a GS3, GS5, and Pixel. The holder was designed to work with a GS3 in a case and has worked well for all three phones in a case. They sell universal mounts that fit almost any phone, just take some measurements of the phone (or the phone and case if you're using one) and they can get you a mounting solution that works well. The design doesn't block the bottom at all or the entire upper half of the phone so all buttons and the fingerprint reader are free to be used in the mount.

This feature works great. I use it for my car & motorcycle helmet Bluetooth, home location, etc.
I have gone through a lot of car holders recently trying to find one that I love. They all seemed to have various issues such as obstructing buttons, not holding on vent, etc.
The best one that I have found is more expensive but works great.

That thing is "cute" but probably doesn't work with any case that's worth a damn, and isn't even close to holding your phone as securely as the RAM X-Mount... And being a vent mount severely limits the position you're phone will face...

I personally love the magnetic mounts but the suction cups always wear out on the windshield mount ones. I hate blocking my vents so those vent hanging mounts are out. I just started using the ones that mount to your in-dash CD player since I never use CD's anymore, just Bluetooth.

I have used it on several phones including my huge Nexus 6 with case., and it holds up very well. It has a swivel head, so you can position it for any position.
I used a magnetic mount that I added an NFC tag to on my old GS6. When I put it in the mount the NFC would run a tasker profile to adjust my volume, unlock the phone, keep screen on, and turn off NFC. Then since I always charged when docked, I set up another profile that when power was removed, change all settings back to normal, lock the phone, and turn NFC back on. Then bought a new car with Bluetooth so tasker triggered off Bluetooth and I did away with the NFC and power removal.
Proclip is the best mount for just about any phone. They need to be purchased in two parts though. First the part that attaches to your car. Next is the part that your phone sits in. Give it a look but it's a little pricey.
I found the iOttie 3 which looks amazing but there is no way I'm using a stock mount on my dash.
Sucks I can't close my heat vents. I'd have a lot more choices.
I might keep the $15 dollar one from my first post which holds the corners diagonally and just attempt to cut out a section of the back so I can reach my finger print scanner. If only in had Bluetooth in my car. I have an older alpine head until which I would need to purchase the $30 bluetooth adapter for. Not really worth it to hope it works

Does your head unit have an aux in jack in the front? If so you could use this.

I currently use it with my 4Runner and it's perfect.
