Hi,
Is there anyone who bought one of those aftermarket LG 3D dock's such as this one on ebay:
www.ebay.nl/itm/Dockingstation-Lade...gstationen&hash=item27c0562090#ht_1089wt_1139
www.ebay.nl/itm/Dockingstation-Lade...gstationen&hash=item35b632025e#ht_2326wt_1139
I'm wondering if they thought about the little piece of plastic covering the USB connector, a part from that it seems a pretty nice way to store the phone next to say you bed or on you desk.
Any thoughts?

Even though im a member since 2006, im not allowed to post links yet.
Update: nevermind, fixed
Bought it a couple of days ago.
- Yes, they thought about the USB covering.
- Unfortunately they forgot about the headphone jack. It's not accessible. To make it accessible you have to use a dremel or similar tool to cut away a bit of the rail which helps the phone slip into it's place.
- Two of my batteries sometimes lose contact when in the charger. Most times they charge well.
- The blue power indicator is very bright.
- Due to the phone's angle of 55° when in the stand the stand is best used on a desk when looking down on it from an angle.
Cool. Thanks, i connect my p920 to the stereo via bluetooth anyway, but thanks for the info!

Why don´t you just buy genuine LG dock?
LG Optimus SDT-190
In picture it looks like u are able to use headphone?

the SDT-190 has no additional battery charger
it's more expensive
was hoping for the other dock to allow the phone wearing a gel case (it doesn't)
Ordering SDT-190 from LG Shop @ 16 Euro
PS. I just hope they will have it in stock.
And it has arrived - directly from LG Poland - took only 1 working day for the order to be processed and delivered by UPS.
Three pics as attached below.
Feels solid, heavy and of excellent build quality.
As you can see, it has two connectors: micro USB and micro HDMI
The phone's ports have those covers, which once you turn them 180 degrees hide into cavities which are located on both sides of connectors (on the dock).
Sliding into ports is easy and comfortable - no extra force or pressure is needed to place the phone into the dock - as well as no extra effort is needed to navigate the ports onto the connectors.
The cut you see on the left hand side is provided for the mini jack port (audio output), so that headphones or external speakers can be plugged in - yes we would prefer the audio port to be at the back at the dock, but this is good enough.
The USB port at the back enables us to charge the phone via USB cable (also works for connecting the phone to a PC as a USB mass storage) or the mains charger.
The docking station is ideal for everyday charging as well as watching movies, or YT
I believe it may also work as a stand when using a Bluetooth keyboard - one that I am waiting to arrive - excellent set up for typing vant numbers of emails and messages while away from our computer/away from home.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and I do think I would buy any other dock imitating the genuine original LG accessory.

Did your bluetooth keyboard work and what model did you use?
no it didnt work. only CM7 has L2CAP Bluetooth Protocol open/supported, and that's needed to connect the keyboard properly.
So I've sold it...
will this work?
any way to add bluetooth support?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/clearance/on-sale/e0e7/
you need to read the product description to see which OS it supports, or ask the seller.
you can't just turn the L2CAP protocol on just like that.
hello all..
can anyone give me a recommended dock with adjustable angle position?
thx btw..
You would be better of looking on ebay to see of there are any. I don't recall them.

I just bought LG O3D Dock, but I'm suprised that it not switch to LANDSCAPE mode when docked?! I sometimes get stucked in landscape when exiting camera so I know it's possible. Anyone can help with this problem, that means> switch to landscape when in dock?
I think there isn't a landscape mode on the original launcher...

I use launcher pro. It has the best landscape as far as i can tell. I tried some more complete alterntives but i always switched back. Get the free one and be happy.

Hi Guys
I found that making one is easier. Just take your headset, open the mic housing with a knife, remove the headphones and solder a 3.5 jackplug in. In the pics here I used a Touch Dual headset...It has a volume control.

Hi Driskol
This one you are looking at will not work. There are of these adaptors availible for the HTC, But the one in the link you sent has a mini usb plug and not the HTC type...However that is exactly the ones I use to convert the standard headsets.
The standard MiniUSB has all its conections on the wide side of the connector, where the HTC connector has all the audio connections on the narrow side. see pic

he he..I´m very familiar with this procedure since I used Motorola phones for years It was the best way how to make own adapter ´cause I tried 4 stock motorola adapters and no of them worked properly so I did it my way
btw: mini usb from motorola doesn´t work on HTC for audio - it works only for data connection
I just received my order from http://cnn.cn/shop/audio-adapter-ext...ap-p-4118.html
...they are cheaper & quicker... it fits and works well on my HTC Diamaond...

The HTC Desire released not long ago but the cradle for this model also released.
http://www.emobile-accessories.com/products_cradle_htc_desire.html
I don't think they were made for Desire.
I've been reading about these two cradles and they are originally for Nexus one. Nevertheless, they do fit for Desire without problem.
They put a video on youtube showing the HTC Desire cradle. I think it's real product for HTC Desire.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj2M-fSl6U8
yes but where can you purchase - is this website trying to sell them? If so they are not doing a very good job!
You can buy them ate mobilefun.
Here the links to two different cradles:

Thanks for posting this: Just to help, here's the picture from site, plus a screen I grabbed and enlarged from youtube video to try to show the USB connector. But the video below shows it connecting solidly, so it would be hard to believe it is not the correct microUSB connector.

*EDIT: I just noticed a slight discrepancy between the youtube demo and the "for sale" pictured item.
In the first picture, you see the front edge of the cradle protrudes a little bit differently than what we see in the video-still. The video-still shows a fully open, smooth edge, without the protrusion. I am not familiar with the Nexus One, but since someone said these are adapted from what was being sold for the Nexus One, which picture is correct? The picture on the left suggests more stabilization and snugger fit preventing phone tip-over... so was it designed for the Desire's button's? I don't know. Someone here would know the differences between the N1 exactly
.
Well it looks like the original picture posted above is the incorrect one, a prototype, and that the video is correct --- because it more closely matches the images seen on the actual order pages for buying the product. However, there is still a difference:
The 2 above photos show a silver trim to the unit; the photo below has no trim. (personally, I would prefer the black-only because I am always a bit skeptical of inexpensive plastic products with silver trim. In my experience, the silver almost always cracks off or scratches off very quickly, and then looks even cheaper...)

should be Yes, from the google.com/phone technical specifications, it says "[10] Micro USB port"
so yes, newer android phones are equipped with micro usb ports, because they made it a standard..
correct me if i am wrong..i remember i saw it somewhere..
Right, MicroUSB becomes European standard in 2010.

I recieved one of these, its not flush at all mate, the unit wobbles like crazy in that dock, sent it back. AVOID.
I bought one and it is really only suitable for charging, would not use the phone while docked.
Plus Desire charges at a full rate only when using the attached USB cable and not through the mini USB socket. I have modded mine by replacing one wrong component inside and adding a dummy plug with data pins shorted to the attached USB cable so it charges fine using the mini USB too now.
I got one of these:
Item 199195 at expansys (can't post links on here yet)
Not too bad for the price. Phone fits in it well and charges/syncs fine.

Pic is straight. USB connection for charging is at the top of the phone..
for HTC Touch HD was really good.
Probably I`ll buy for SGS as well
Hope the charger is 1mA
even at 1mA it's not powerful enough to charge the battery when using the GPS
i'm looking for a 2mA car charger

Now I do like Brodit, but I may have to get my hacksaw out according to these pics.
Unless Im reading it wrong, there's a big flap of plastic obscuring the camera lens.
I like to record my car journeys you see - for the times I get into an accident with a less than honest person who invents witnesses.

that's a great idea!
i've always used a separate camera for that purpose, because i bike and drive, it's extremely important when you are on a bicycle as most car vs. bicycle goes either unreported, or car always win the debate even though it's the car's driver fault.
Off topic (but discussed in topic) I've just purchased this 2A charger http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2A-car-charge...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item45f367d712 cheap and cheerful no holder but provide the correct power for maximum use of the device
Isn't a 2 amp charger way overkill? I have a 0.7 amp samsung charger and that charges my phone just fine while running mobile maps.
i ordered a 2 Amp charger from another source, i already have a generic phone holder that works for all phones and PDA
no, anything less than 1 Amp will not charge your phone, if you keep the screen ON, and using GPS + using Bluetooth
1 Amp will keep your battery from falling down drastically, but it is still not enough to charge the battery meanwhile all the features are ON
2 Amp is only enough to keep all those features running, and charger the battery.
that comes from experience using the HTC Athena, which is just as much of a power hog as the SGS i9000

So, I just got off the phone with Asus. I accidentally broke the charging port in my infinity. It was charging and my son knocked it into the wall breaking the piece of plastic inside the charging port.I'll attach a picture to show the extent of the damage. They want roughly $240 to repair this. Maybe a little more or less. I obviously dont want (and really dont have) the money to fix it right now. And I feel like paying half the cost of the tablet to fix a small piece of plastic is insane.
Has anyone here ever broken their charging port and if so how did you fix it? If you have any suggestions at all id appreciate it. Im pretty good with electronics and was hoping that I may be able to fix it myself.

I had a similar issue on my tf101. smashed the center pins on the port on the tablet. bad deal. I havent done this on the tf700 but thought I would point you in the direction i took on the tf101. I found a rplacement port at asusparts. eu and ordered it. took about 6 weeks to get it. Everything on their site is very cryptic and hard to follow. I would suggest opening it up and removing the port/board to see if there is a part number on it, then search their site for that part number. plus you can visually match it up better this way.
Hope this helps. my tf101 is in great shape now, gave it to the kids
Any luck?
So i have a TF700, one of the charger port pins are bent due to a drop. It will not charge and need to replace the port. so far i have not found the part number anywere on ASUS parts website. as anyone opened a tf700 to see if there is part number and or a way to get one. Have not had the guts to open the tablet until i can replace the part. thanks
Well fixed this, opened the tf700 and bought the ribbon cable. Works great.

Where did you get the part? and were there any tricks to fixing it yourself?
I'm in the same boat. The way the port and cable are (badly) designed it looks too easy to break with just a little downward pressure. I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this. I tried going through Asus ($241/non warranty repair... screw that) and local shops say they can't get the part. I have an email out to asusparts.eu to see if the fpc cable they carry is compatible and whether they can ship to CA.
There have to be more people having the same issue.
TF700 Charging Port Broken
Well , I am in the same boat.. My son tripped on the wire while charging . I am able to charge but Dock is not connecting ( When i connect the dock , nothing happens ) ... guess something is broken in the charging port.
Any pointers where can we source the port replacement ( part numbers ? ) and any instructions ?
I live in Dublin,CA are there any local repair shops i can goto (within 50 miles) ? i dont want to go to Asus ( already unlocked) and they will definitly ask for a fortune .

OK so yes I will send you a picture of what it looks like when I get off work. The nomenclature is stamped on the ribbon its-self. I bought the "correct" one from Asus and it was not at all for the 700t. I purchased another from a online seller company and it was correct. As far taking it apart not for the faint of heart, you get to test the gorilla glass out to see how strong it is. Look up ifixit, there you will find the needed teardown instruction. So far tablet is fine.

Thanks all for your pointers and Help .
I have ordered a new Charging Port from www.asusparts.eu and somehow gathered courage to open up and replace the docking port with the help of the tutorial from www.ifixit.com
When I put the tablet together , touch screen was not working . Again took it apart , tried reconnecting the ribbons . When i put it together again , I am able to charge and touch screen also working :good::good::good:.
Then tried connecting the tablet to the keyboard dock, To my horror , tablet is not recognize the dock. But when i connect the charging cable to dock , both dock and tablet are charging ( atleast the lights are on) . :crying::crying::crying:

sorry for upping this old thread...
I had the same problem and after substituiting the charging port with a new one, now the tablet takes forever tho charge the battery.
I'm using a usb cable plugged to the amazon basic charger (output 5V, 2.1A), but neither the os nor the recovery tells wether the tablet is charging. Nevertheless, if I leave it plugged for some hours it reaches 100%. Battery drains at usual speed, just takes forever to charge. Sometimes the touchscreen is unresponsive too, regardless of the ROM I'm using.
Is there something to do?
I have been searching for a good dock for the Nexus 9, and I haven't found anything yet. Figured we could start a thread for docks and impressions of docks. All the docks that I've seen appear to have the USB connection facing the wrong way for our Nexus 9s.
First up, micro usb docks that will work with the Nexus 9.

I personally just ordered the EverDock, will report back once I receive it.
Submit your docks and impressions if you have any.

Subscribing. Since I use this tablet as my alarm clock I am definitely interested in a dock!

Why not? This is the best device for that!
It's not a dock, but I actually use a Twelve South Compass stand. My current one is rigged with a small Qi charger in the middle for the Nexus 7, and while Nexus 9 can't charge that way, it sits on the stand just fine. I tend to store it in landscape when I do use it.

This is the only thing that I've found, but the reviews are lumped with the lightning version, so its hard to get a good idea on overall consensus. I can't decide if I should order it to find out for myself or not.

Looking at the connector, it appears to be oriented the wrong way. As in to make the tablet plug in, the display will face the dock and not you. I could be wrong on that.
How does the tablet know it's docked rather than connected to a charger? I ask as I'm curious how it will know when to daydream.

Good catch. I hadn't noticed that. Now I'm back to square one.
What about this?
Well the original purpose of a dock is to put the device on the stand for charging and/or syncing instead of having to fiddle around and manually connect a cable. This works fine for that i suppose.
Having it act like a alarm clock or whatever is not what makes it a dock. That's just a feature that some docks have but is not a prerequisite.

I would avoid this. It looks nice but it's a pain in the ass to plug in. Here's the bottom of my Nexus 7

To be fair, you probably just jammed it in without regard for your tablet.
Others here don't treat them so badly.
If you're careful, any dock can work.
Just a word of advice for those looking for a dock.
The Nexus 7 and 9 are the only ones I've owned that have the microusb socket the OTHER way around than my other ones.
Any update on the ever dock with the n9? Curious to see if it fits. Thanks.

I hope HTC will release an official dock. The offical dock from ASUS for the Nexus 7 was the best.

I received mine, and I can confirm that it does work. I plan to do a deeper review, but a very quick one. It works, I like it, but you may want to modify it slightly and easily. I'll get some pictures up and a review soon.
Thanks
Dan
Updated first post with new dock that should work, on sale currently as well if anyone wants to give it a shot.
Thanks

Could you please post pictures with the N9 on the dock? I would like to see how it fits there. Thanks.
