Hey guys, I have a Rogers Razr HD LTE. I dropped the phone face down and cracked a good portion of the screen and now it won't even turn on.
I've tried holding down power + vol down button to reboot but nothing happens. Did I just bust it for good or is there anything I can try. I was gonna bring it to a cell phone repair shop and see if they can fix it, but I thought I'd check in here first.
Wish you lucky next time,

Yes. I am gonna bring it in to them to change the screen. I just hope nothing else is wrong. It does show signs of life though. The notification LED turned on once during charging and when I went through the boot up cycle a few times it did vibrate.
Let us know how much the screen cost plz

So the guy at the repair shop says the whole front panel needs to be replaced because its all one piece. The glass is not cracked but the LCD under it is. He says AMOLED screens will not turn on if there is even the slightest break in it where as regular LCD panels may still work if they are cracked. Because the phone is so new its gonna be minimum $200 to fix. I will have a more accurate figure tomorrow.
Wow.... ouch.
I kinda figured that. When I broke my RAZR LCD (not the glass either) the cheapest I found was 200 just for the LCD and digitizer. I should look if it got any cheaper because I still have the phone broken

Well, last night I had an uhoh, dropped my phone on gravel and near the search button cracked and made a nice crack on my screen. I am not eligible for insurance until october and was wondering if someone could help me find those parts or a reputible repair service. Nothing is wrong with the digitizer but it is one assembly. Thanks

Have same issue. I looked online and found this site to have the lowest price and will order from them today: www.wholesalegadgetparts.com/home.php?cat=939. The glass (the one the finger touches) and the lcd/digitizer, according to them, is all one unit.
EDIT: Anyone know of a good disassembly guide for the Charge?
I dont know about dissassembly instructions but the glass and samoled display are together because i helps make it stronger, thinner and it improves picture, improves outdoor readability and no dust can get under the screen
As a follow up...I installed and rocking the beautiful display on my Charge again!

Where did you get the display?! My Charge's digitizer somehow cracked (the exterior of the phone is perfect) and Verizon wouldn't do anything about it.
Ended up paying full price for a new Charge
See the previous posts above for the link.

Youtube has a great dis. For droid charge.. I uave used it and it is pretty good

It is pretty self explanatory anyways. 135 is outrageous though. Hopefully they will come down soon. I will say when I am looking at red text on a black background it almost seems to lift out of the display, like when looking at red system apps in TB. Especially while outside with brightness all the way up. The display is amazing, but still, should be cheaper at this point, especially at this resolution.
I had recently replaced my broken digitizer on my g2x with one with an LG logo on it. All I changed was the glass, keeping the original frame. What I noticed was in the light you could see little dots that were connected in the glass. The sensitivety of the screen was poor. Later I replaced it with a T-Mobile logo one. There were no dots and lines on it and it works like new like it should. Just passing that on. Not that the LG logo one did not work but maybe I received a dud.

I have a white one with lg on it and it works perfectly. Plus, I just bought another white one complete with the housing for $71, as soon as I get it and install it I'll report on it.
Where did you get that from? Does it come with the grey housing?
Sent from my A100 using xda premium
Well I probably got a bad one. They knocked off 1/2 the cost. And it works but it's just not as responsive.

The one in the picture I got back in November, digitizer only, $60. The new one I ordered comes with the Grey housing, $71, I will get it in 12 days or less, I'll keep everyone posted. I can't believe I found a complete white one this late in the game for so cheap! The link is up top.

Where did you find that for 71$
EDIT: I saw that you replied on the other thread, thanks
Any updates with the white digitizer + housing?

Would this come with the housing as well?
It says front housing I think maybe that would be the plastic frame with glass. You could write them to find out.

I got a replacement (digitizer only, no housing) from ebay for 35 dollars or so. Sellers name ended with "123"
The digitizer has LG logo and is claimed to be "OEM" by the item's title.
First thing I notice when I install it is that the linearity is off, and when grabbing the far left edge, the right edge grabs instead. When unlocking the phone via swipe starting from the left edge, the silence slider is grabbed and moves to where your finger is.
Second issue is THAT THE SCREEN SUPPORTS ONLY TWO POINTS OF TOUCH.
Apparently this is a common issue - none of these replacements, even those marked "OEM" support 10 points. This is very bad as no seller explicitly writes of this limitation.
Do I have grounds to complain to eBay that the item is not as described? Does listing it as OEM imply it has to be identical to the original?
I got one on eBay for $40 including housing. No problems. Easy replacing. OEM with T-Mobile Logo
Have you ever had the backing of the phone come loose? I dropped mine and the bottom where the capacitive buttons came apart. I didn't notice it until I went into a room that was dark... has this happened to anyone else? It went back into place so I guess its OK...

I noticed a couple of times I'll look down at my phone and see the capacitive light shining through on the bottom gap between the screen and plastic. Usually just clicks back in.

They have some really nice thin shell cases out there that don't add much weight or take away from the beauty. I've used the clear one and white/purple one both from HTC.
I actually noticed this happen when I was taking off my case (Otterbox Commuter). Some cases are just so tight that you need to be careful taking them off.
Moral of the story, this has happened to me too

Yeah, AT&T will not replace a phone with a cracked or shattered screen. On the other hand if you pay for 7 bux a month insurance, you can get a replacement (most likely will not be an A2 though, and whatever they have in stock for replacements).
Your best bet is to do what others have done and buy a broken phone on ebay that is bricked and will not power on and use it's screen and digitizer and follow these directions to replace the screen and digitizer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746094
On ebay I have seen broken A2's for anywhere from 50-150 USD, depending on the damage and if the screen is intact or not. You really want one that has a good screen but will not power on, and that will probably be just under or close to 100.00 USD. There is also a link for buying a screen and digitizer in the link I gave, but you will have to glue or affix those to together, and these tend to not look quite as good as just doing what I mention and get a non booting phone off ebay or craigslist.
I reupped my wife's line and got a Sony TL. Damn you AT&T every time I get a foot out you pull me back in.

You can also buy a replacement screen here . I replaced my screen in March of this year and it worked flawlessly.
First off, I love my note 3. This phone is so close to perfect I can't bear the fact that I broke it somehow.
After having no case/screen protector since I got this phone.. sometime end of summer.. I bought my first case off of amazon. I received it YESTERDAY.. today.. while it was in the case, in my back pack (in a nice "protective" pouch that is lined with soft cloth) somehow it cracked the lcd screen (or digitizer) but the GLASS IS NOT CRACKED. Infact there's no physical damage to the phone at all, no dents or scratches anywhere on the phone at all, even looking at the screen under a light. Nothing on the glass.
SO I'm heart broken. It's my secondary phone so I have no insurance on it.
What would you do ? It's a sprint phone.. black.
You have to replace your complete screen.
It's called a full assembly.
You can't just replace you lcd alone.
They cost around $200.
Try parts4repair.com
I repair alot of phones and this site always has the best quality.

There's no damage at all, not even a slight scratch. I'm actually a little curious how it happened.
So it can really be some fault in phone that'll go under warranty have you tried resetting phone if it's some software fault / bug?

Yes.. you can see the top third of the screen for a minute or two, then it goes black/digital looking (8 bit graphics) and then eventually joins the bottom of the screen - being broken.

Actually - I looked at it under the light, if you hold it up to your eye level you can see a cracked digitizer

if there is no obvious damage such as a mark where is bounced on the ground or a crushed screen, i'd warranty it.
Isn't the Note a bit large to place in your back pocket?

I had the same thing happen, although it happened after someone else dropped the phone.
I ended up buying a new front assembly for the phone for about $237. It was the only seller that affirmatively listed the display as AMOLED. The repair was pretty straightforward and it works well now

I decided to go the honest route.
Handed her the phone saying that I dropped it, don't have insurance, can't get it anymore because it's been too long and asked if there was anything that could be done.
She smiled, said "Finally someone is honest, let me see what I can do"
Turns out they had a broken Note3 in the back with a good digitizer and screen.
Charged me 75 bucks, signed me up for insurance (I'm months outside the 30 day window) and sent me on my way.
Sure it's not free, but for 75 bucks and I don't have to mess with it and I kept my integrity, I'm happy!

The parts for the repair cost $237, i think, and was totally doable.

you actually can replace just the screen - there is a youtube video of a guy doing it.
However, when I did it, it was actually cheaper to buy the entire assembly...not to mention much easier.
