Because to have official support it has to be out of Alpha/Beta stage. In other words it has to be completely stable on hardware level (kernel and proprietary binaries) before it can be included in the main repo and build with only CM not device changes. CM devs will not bother to fix device stuff, only OS related. So if you are reading the CM10 threads you will know that we are far from that still. It may be working but not for all (example the hitachi panel users). Until this is fixed - no official support.

[Q] CM9 RC0 VS CM9 RC1 - on Nexus S

hello guys
i have been running CM9 RC0 (cm-9.0.0-RC0-crespo-signed.no.v5) on my GSM Nexus S OCed to 1.2GHz (ondemand governor)
and now i found out that they have released RC1 and so i downloaded it to give it a try.
but before doing so i have some questions in mind regarding RC1
that if it is worth flashing instead of CM9 RC0?
what are the possible added features of settings that are of more benefit than the previous version ?
please help me as i am just a rookie in these rom flashing and Overclocking
Just thinking that new version always worth to flash otherwise why do they release it? Working on ROM is not something easy
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
It's newer cm code compiled into a Nightly release. Some nightlies are more stable than others, read the changelogs and bug for nightlies and you'll have an idea of what is fixed in a release and what is broken by an update.

ok great so does it mean that it should be more faster than the Rc0 or the nightly builds ? because CyanogenMod is MEANT to be a PERFORMANCE ROM so there must be some more speedy update to it in simple words right ?
Let me try this again, Nightlies are just the latest code compiled into a Rom, there's no guarantee you'll see any difference between one nightly or another so you have to read the changelog to see what code was changed.

What's the status of evita CM 10.1 nightlies/M3 release since the DMCA take down?

I'm referring of course to:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...repositories-some-cyanogenmod-repos-affected/
Anyone know if there is any kind of work around or when builds will start coming out again??
I was pretty happy with the latest CM 10.1 with the exception of some of the remaining vsync issues.
My bad. I found the unofficial nightly thread. Thought it was some old thread for pre-CM 10.1 work but it is actually newer.
From what i understand cyanogenmod figured out a way to build without the dmca'ed files and should be back to building official nightlies soon

[Q] Which ROMs will work with OpenPDroid?

Which HTC Desire S Custom ROMs will work with OpenPDroid?
What do I need to do to get both working on my device?

Your best bet is to look at using CyanogenMod and search for ApG (Autopatcher) to patch it with openPDroid yourself.
Is CyanogenMod 7.2.0 the latest stable Custom ROM version that is available for the HTC Desire S?
There seems to be no patch for CM 7.2 but only CM 10 and CM 10.1
If I understand it correctly than I could only use OpenPDroid via mateor's auto-patcher with the following ROMs: CM10, CM10.1, AOKP Jellybean 4.1.2, AOKP Jellybean 4.2.1, AOSP 4.1.2, and AOSP 4.2.1
Is any of these ROMs available for the HTC Desire S?

I'd be tempted to try patching the ROM listed below and see where it gets you - nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain.
[ROM][10 JUL 13][4.2.2][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1
Doesn't reaper have the pdroid patch already?

Of course it does - how could I have forgotten that on my old favourite ROM? Thanks mate :good:
I think there is a difference between pdroid and openpdroid, but it may well do what the OP needs.

Take a look at dev section. There are several of these Jellybean roms available there
If you wish to stick with CM7.2, you can use the original Pdroid which was designed for gingerbread

Good to know. I'm glad a developer bothered to integrate it into their ROM.

Why would I want to stick with an old version? I am quite happy with current ROMs if they are stable.
I even don't know the difference between Jellybean and CM. Shame on me.

There's no harm in trying to use ApG. If it fails to patch then it will tell you quite clearly - it won't generate an incomplete patch.

Jellybean simply refers to Android v4.1 / v4.2 (currently) which is CM10.1
ICS refers to Android v4.0 which is CM10
i used ApG on 4.2.2 before and i never had any issues.it is pretty easy to use

I believe that OpenPDroid won't work on [ROM][10 JUL 13][4.2.2][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1 because it is 4.2.2 instead of the OpenPDroid-supported 4.1.2 or 4.2.1?
Could the following HTC Desire S ROMs technically function with OpenPDroid?
[ROM][15 FEB 13][CodeFireX][BR11\SR12]4.2.1\4.2.2 builds | Finally
[ROM][08 FEB 13] [JB4.2.1] JellyTime CM10.1 R6.1 - SAGA Edition | AROMA
Which of those two would you recommend? Why?
Probably not [ROM][28 FEB 13] MIUIzero v9 (JB 4.1.2) (MIUI 3.2.22) as MIUI is not supported by OpenPDroid.

Autopatcher supports v4.2.2 absolutely fine - I've used it on my LG 4X HD without any issues at all, and the official thread even states;-

I have problems to get ApG 2.6.0.1 on Win7 working. I ran it as administrator in a non-Windows folder as advised here. It does not download Java and Cygwin though. I've downloaded it manually. How can I add it?

As an alternative to using pdroid, you could use the 'xposed framework' and xposed privacy. It's a very good system and would fit your needs.
Here's the link for the framework apk.

[FRAMEWORK ONLY!] Xposed - ROM modding without modifying APKs (2.1.4)(12.05.2013)
A quick search will give the the privacy mod for it.

I eventually managed to get ApG working and ran it on cm-10.1-20130719-UNOFFICIAL-saga.
As a result I know have three files instead of one:
cm-10.1-20130719-UNOFFICIAL-saga
cm-10.1-20130719-UNOFFICIAL-saga-20130721-restore
cm-10.1-20130719-UNOFFICIAL-saga-openpdroid-20130721-update
How do I proceed from here?

It should be fairly obvious really. Flash the main ROM, then flash the 'update' to 'update' with openpdroid. You will need to install PDroid Manager to make use of openpdroid.
The 'restore' file is to flash to remove the changes - an exact reversal of the 'update' zip.

I assumed that it would be all in one file. Which method do you recommend for flashing? I know they are a couple around and I haven't done it for a long time. So I currently don't know which one is to be recommend.

Sorry, I'm confused now. There is only one method I'm aware of for flashing ROMs - boot to recovery and flash the .zip file.

Is there an official CM10 release for the Sensation?

I see a few ROMS based on CM10 from the likes of Albinoman etc, but is there an official CM10 release?

There is CM10 available through the official website. But 10.1 and 10.2 are not officialy supported (these are different versions, not just updates to CM10).

As far as I know, cm 10 official is available, but all builds are nightly.

Now with CM dead, all CM ROMs die...what ROM now?

It seems a lot like my other thread, but I wanted to give a POV for others using CM (or CM based) ROMs alternative choices.
So where do CM users go for their OnePlus One?
LineageOS
Too beta for now.
Lineage is for all intents and purposes IS CyanogenMod. Stick with a stable CM build until the builds start coming back online.

It just picks up from where CM14.1 left off, so if you were using a CM14.1 nightly chances are the new nightlies will be the same. I'd say they're pretty stable for what it's worth, they're definitely the most concrete ROMs for this device.
