To include the S3, probably only on a new line or upgrade and probably free with rebate but it's still free for those ready to upgrade.

Yeah, but think about it, you have to pay 20 extra bucks per month, ill just get the nexus 4 for full price with Google, and that way my phone bill stays at $50.

True the 50 dollar unlimited prepaid everything is a good deal if you only have one line, I have four smart phones under a family plan so it's technically cheaper for me in a family plan.
The article I read says you'll still pay the full $299.99 up front for the S3 and you have to sign up for one of their "Classic" plans. After you sign up they will mail you a Visa gift card for the value of the phone ($299.99). Not really a great deal considering their classic plans are some of the worst values they have. They also will sell you the S3 for $199.99 to get on one of the "Value" plans, and then send you a card for that amount.

Untrue. I have 4 lines on value plan and I am paying 90$
50$ 1000 mins (unllimited with wifi calling)
20$ (10$ * 2 lines of 2 gb)
20$ (5$ * 4 lines unlimited text)
And 2 dumb phones
U can add 20 $ since u have all smartphones.
So 110 total.
I guess on classic u would pay
60$ for 1000 mins
+ 80$ (20 * 4 lines for 2 gb data)
+ 40$ (10 * 4 lines texting)
= 160$
50$ difference = 50*24 =1200
1200/4 lines = 300 per phone
You can technically get 4 nexus 4's for free and not paying 279 or any money down to get the phones like u would for note 2 or s3.

I'm going to flip over to a 500 minutes Value Unlimited Data plan and take up their $200 off the unsubsidized Note II this weekend. For the math challenged the Value plans are hands down better than a like Classic plan even without discounts like this.

Same applies to Value. I get 15% on 90$.
I'm due for an upgrade months ago but when I log into my account, the S3 still showing $299. If I added to cart as a new customer + 2yrs contract then it is $200 - $200 MIR

Why would I not sell this for the extra 200 - 300 dollars???
Not thinking about doing it, but think ABOUT it has me asking the question?

Read the fine print, 99% sure that walmart will tack on another fee on top of your etf if you cancel your contract or remove data before 6 months into it.
I don't think walmart does.....I have my paperwork here and will read it now.
Would not waste my time but reading all the "should I buy or contract out " has me wondering.
For me Ive had a mt4g since day one and will be.cancelling that contract and if I get bored will sell it

Nothing about wallmart cancellation fees , just tmobile.
Anyways... I was just curious is all.
Shoot I could go setup a new family plan and pickup 5 phones, then resell at a quick 150 each profit... As I understand it.

I'm on a family plan for 3 phones, I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out a new plan that can use data usage with out worrying. Here is my current plan:
1000 Talk - $59.99
Unlimited Messaging - $20
3 Phones with 200mb - $10/each ($30)
3rd phone added to line - $10
Total = $120
Do you guys know of a better plan or way to get data on the phone that is unlimited but throttles it if needed?
Well when my wife had T-Mobile the only thing they would offer her when she needed to upgrade was a 2GB/5GB/10GB options. Since they wouldn't let her keep her unlimited, that's the only options I'm seeing via their website still. Either or would be better than 2/300MB.
You could've got unlimited talk, text 4gb 4g a couple months ago. About 70 total.

Yeaah I know, its kinda dumb especially its all T-Mobile plans they want to charge a migration fee just so you can lower your bill. Smh, so I might just transfer to my brothers account and just split the bill. I'll get add a line - $5, android web - $20, and insurance, $8 or $4. One of those. And once split between me and him it will be about $70 exact a month

Yeah T-Mobile is great when it comes to prices but getting a good plan is hard, you really have to capitalize on offers and stuff.
I have been searching forums for ways to save money on my phone bill. With the lowest amount of minutes, unlimited text, and a grandfathered in unlimited data (hope that lasts) I was paying 110 a month for Verizon. I like Verizon, and I've used them since I first had a cell phone, so I didn't want to switch. In one of the forums I came across a link for a website called Studentrate.com that offered an 8 - 10% discount on your monthly bill. I figured it couldn't hurt so I joined Studentrate to get the discount. Shortly after joining I received a text from Verizon saying that the discount has been applied to my monthly bill. I'm now saving 11 dollars a month which actually ads up to $132 dollars a year. That gives me a free month. Anyways it worked for me so I figured I would pass it on. Here is the link to the discount

From reading the site linked it says it will only be applied to new accounts or new lines and not current customers. Not sure how the OP got a discount on his current account.
Anyway, I already get a great discount from my employer. If it wasn't for the discount I would no way be on Verizon. Man, their prices suck! lol

I had no idea there were so many discounts. All I know is that I didn't get one through my work. So, if your like me the student rate discount is pretty good.
My family has an 11% discount since my father worked at a real estate office like 6 years ago. Never bothered to let them know he quit... who would?
Thanks for refreshing this idea in my head again... My work said they were setting up a discount. I have to remind them, I could use it i pay some where around $240 for two phones only one on unlimited.... I also have a republic wireless phone that's may be worth checking into if you're trying to save money. If it catches on i think it could change the phone game. They just don't have the phones yet to fill my rom flashing need. My republic phone is $19 a month unlimited talk text web. Runs on wifi and backs up on sprint network. Definitely worth checking into if you can give up the phone hacking passion to save a few bucks or in this case a lot of money

Unlimited text.
Unlimited data each line.
I might just be lucky but I get 20 dollars off each line that has a data plan (promotion). As well as 25% off the main line and 50% off accessories thru work.
I'm paying less than $180. For 4 lines. And unlimited 4g.

yeah... i was fishing to see if anyone had a better plan...i will look at swappa... thanks... we have a thing in Houston where you bring your phone and do unlimited for 40 dollars a month and you use att or Verizon towers depending on your phone...but I haven't met anyone that has tried it...also I was wondering about places to shop for the note II...or try waiting a couple of months for a better phone... i also read somewhere people were keeping their grandfathered contracts by going to the Verizon store and the sales person can do it with some slight of hand....

Ok if you havent heard att has a new deal that allows you to get a new device on your plan every 12 months. The catch is your billed 39 dollars on every bill. At least that's what I think....
Can someone explain to me if I'm missing something. Now when I tried to do this I still had to pay a large amount, 2yr, 1yr, and full retail, even though I wanted to do the Next deal. I'm almost due for an upgrade in 2 months any how. Is that the reason?

Also, with this "deal" you end up paying at least a 3rd more than the price of the phone for a normal upgrade. I think, if I remember correctly, that the s4 was going to be around $270 over the life of the contract as opposed to the $200 you'd pay for a normal upgrade.
Seems like it's a rip off to me, but to each their own.

I think going to use this next program for the note 3. According to my upgrade page it will $35 a month for 20 months but I will be able to upgrade in a year. So instead of $300 upfront and a $36 upgrade fee, it will be around $420 for the year plus the fact that not gonna get insurance on it cause I'm gonna "lease" it for a year.
I'm still going to keep my skyrocket though on my work line.

To me the thing to know is the trade in value at the end of the year. In other words will you recieve any money back or not when you return the phone. The note 3 retails for 799. 299 if you get the two year contract. It's 37 a month with the next program. If you keep it for the whole 20 months thats 740 bucks. So your getting a little over 7% off the full retail value. If you keep it for the 12 months then trade it in you'll pay 444. Will you get any of that back when you trade in the phone for next years model? That seems to be the unknown here. As far as not getting insurance goes that is a really bad idea. You break or lose it and you'll not be able to trade it in hence will have to pay the full term of the next contract I would think.
