Can someone explain this to me?? - HTC Sensation

Just bought a sensation for 150 at wallmart. A new line on a fam plan.
ETF is 200. Total cost if I cancelled is 350.
Why would I not sell this for the extra 200 - 300 dollars???
Not thinking about doing it, but think ABOUT it has me asking the question?

Read the fine print, 99% sure that walmart will tack on another fee on top of your etf if you cancel your contract or remove data before 6 months into it.

I don't think walmart does.....I have my paperwork here and will read it now.
Would not waste my time but reading all the "should I buy or contract out " has me wondering.
For me Ive had a mt4g since day one and will be.cancelling that contract and if I get bored will sell it

Nothing about wallmart cancellation fees , just tmobile.
Anyways... I was just curious is all.
Shoot I could go setup a new family plan and pickup 5 phones, then resell at a quick 150 each profit... As I understand it.

$550 plus tax for US sensation

When was the last time a phone was this high? It will probably be like 575 after taxes... after watching all of the videos.. it doesn't seem worth the price of a computer. This is like crime. I always buy my phones out right because I don't like to wait for contract renewals but another 75? I bet if they added more internal memory and a better video camera and screen it would be like 800 huh? Lol maybe I need to back off on being a phone fanatic lol

That was still Google branded but the majority of HTC US phones are like 500. I dunno.. I ain't flipping out but if the price is gonna continue to go up, they can be more solid with their product functionality

For whatever reason I had $499 on my mind...
$549 plus tax in LA @9.75% equals $602 and some change...
At this price point, I'm reconsidering purchasing this phone now as I'm pretty happy with the MyTouch 4G running Virtuous Fusion 1.1.2.

That's presently irrelevant in the US, because it hasn't been released in the US. I bet when it is released here, it's under $600.
I paid $650 for my GS2 with tax.
My Incredible was 550 six months after release. This doesn't seem outrageous.
Dunno why you're complaining, you guys have it cheap. In europe the average new phone, no contract costs $700-$800 usd. Currently the HTC sensation costs ~430pounds ($700usd) in the uk. The galaxy s ii also costs ~430pounds in europe and $800 aud in australia. The atrix is even more expensive, costing 500pounds ($850usd).

Well I'm thinking y'all probably get paid more over in the uk or something. Where is the logic of the phones being like 100 to 200 dollars more? That's crazy and yeah we complain if HTC isn't giving it their all and not producing a better than good product for almost 600 dollars.

I'd pay that kind of money for the phone if:
1) It comes with almost no flaws/bugs
2) Its a Pentaband GSM/HSDPA Phone
2) I have full control over it (rooting)
3) I get at least 5 years of guranteed timely updates
Last I bought a Asus laptop for this much

If you're in the USA, Target online has it for $99. And I believe Costco has it for a good price as well. There's some threads about it in the forum somewhere.
Got mine completely free thru the web only promotion that T-mo ran a couple of weeks ago.

T-Mobile price???

Sorry for the stupid question but how much does this device cost with a 2 yr contract with T-Mobile. The website says 149$ now but is that the final price or will the final price be 50$ after mail in rebate? And is the price gonna drop anytime soon(hopefully on September) I want this phone more than anything right now but 149 is just too damn much for me.

Yes with 2 year contract! There is one weird thing that happed. I had an older data plan which had unlimited fot $20. It was before the time when T-Mobile introduced 2G/5 and 10GB plans. On all other phones that I had including: Galaxy S and S 4G, Galaxy Nexus, Nokia Win 7 phone and so on, I was able to use Wifi HotSpot with that old data plan. Now when I got HTC One S, it stopped working and every time I wanted to activate hotspot on my phone, a page would open up, stating that I need to pay for $15 extra... So I called customer care and told them the above story. She told me that my plan is old and about 6 months ago the company started to monitor and charge users for hotspot service. She said I would have to pay $35 total. So at the end I made her do it for $20 for 2 year. So now I have new plan with 5GB+hotspot. I think phones with Android 4+ t-mobile started to block users without hotspot plan. So you know.

whats your best phone and contract combination?

so I have been looking for ways to keep my Verizon service and my data... this is my plan...Craigslist for a note II...then Verizon has an unlimited month to month for fifty dollars no contract...of course my contract is up... but from what I seen upgrades are about three months before contract expiration...even with my 20 percent discount through work there is nothing cheaper when comparing contracts to prepaid fifty a month

yeah... i was fishing to see if anyone had a better plan...i will look at swappa... thanks... we have a thing in Houston where you bring your phone and do unlimited for 40 dollars a month and you use att or Verizon towers depending on your phone...but I haven't met anyone that has tried it...also I was wondering about places to shop for the note II...or try waiting a couple of months for a better phone... i also read somewhere people were keeping their grandfathered contracts by going to the Verizon store and the sales person can do it with some slight of hand....

Okay so I'm 18 have a minimum wage job "yay my life is so great" blah. Minimum wage here is $7.25 btw. But I feel like taking on some responsibility and leaving my parents cellphone plan (AT&T) and going to T-Mobile. Good idea or no? Sprint is pointless in my area because it barely gets any service here. And Verizon. Just no. Any sort of input is gladly taken into consideration and thanks for all the help! ;*<3

THe only drawback is that they seem to have temporarily discontinued att sim cards thus its kind of hard to find them. You probably can find one in a phone or on ebay or something.

Check out Wal-Mart Family Mobile. I used them for a while. Was very happy. $45 a month for unlimited everything (throttle data after 2GB). Runs on the t-mobile network. Only concern was lack of short code and call forwarding support. Other than that, I just put my account on automatic payment and never had to contact them again after the initial setup. You pay at the end of the month (it's not prepay), there are no contracts, no credit checks, and you can even pay your bill in person at any Wal-Mart.
