[Q] Always bootloop when flash using custom recovery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Dear all
I`ve got this problem, everytime I flash the rom using custom recovery I always got bootlop.
I`ve tried flashing this rom : Clean Rom 4.5 and Stock JB Rom (nowipe) odex using custom recovery : CWM 6.0.1.2 and TWRP 2.2.0
When flash using custom recovery I always follow the sequence : wipe data/factory reset-wipe cache-Install-reboot system
The last time I succeed flash rom is using Odin (flash from stock JB to stock ICS)
For information :
The data of my phone

Really appreciate it if someone can give a clue to fix this problem
thanks

What recovery are you using? I would flash the one that you are not using and try that. Sounds like a bad download to me.

Im using custom recovery : CWM 6.0.1.2 and TWRP 2.2.0
Both of them I flash from EZ-recovery application

Solved finally...., I pushed the cwm touch bootchain recovery using odin n bootloop is gone, I think the error because of the ez recovery apps and ez unlock didn't unlock the bootloader clearly...

[Q] Completely awkward behaving Nexus S

I just bought this phone yesterday and it is the i9020t (AWS version). The phone function works fine but every so often every application fails and gives an error asking to report it. I cannot manage to change the screen lock, it just comes back after reset. I only managed to remove it once. Also I cannot reset it no matter what I do, whether it is from settings or from the recovery menu. All data seems impossible to remove. How is this happening?
So Far:
-I got the boot loader unlocked (does this mean it is rooted yet?), failed to install superboot.zip
-Got the adb setup with using only part of the sdk files
(http://esausilva.com/2010/10/02/how-to-set-up-adb-android-debug-bridge-in-mac-osx/)
Now I have tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
I can't get clockworkmod on here, I don't even know what it is exactly.
I believe I need to flash the phone onto stock firmware, the current seems corrupt as I can't do any changes such as password or wipe data.
More info on phone:
Android version: 2.3.4; Baseband version: I9020XXKD1; Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-ge382d80 [email protected]#1; Build number: GRJ22;
BTW I am on Mac OS X but can access a PC if I really have to.
Anything else I need to provide?
Doesn't sound like an odd behaving phone, just that you weren't very prepared for the rooting process.
If your bootloader is unlocked you need to flash a custom recovery such as clockworkmod or twrp. To do this you will use the fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img after you have flashed the recovery you can either flash a new rom or flash the superuser.zip to achieve root on the stock rom.

It was a messed up phone. Returned it. Nothing would write onto sdcard. Which explains why it would not allow many functions that require data retention.

Yeah ics update, wait.
very good job:good:
I hate to be a moron, but I am new to this. I just got the GT-P6200L a couple of days ago. I updated to ICS and it works perfectly, but I cannot root it. Unless I can find a way to root ICS, I am going to go back to honeycomb.
I downloaded the two zip files from the top of this thread:
http://www.4shared.com/rar/ShRHf_QA/Odin3v185.html
http://www.4shared.com/rar/8F0WIp9H/P6200L_STOCK_VJKL4_REV_04_FIRM.html
I noticed that the Odin also included a .pit file (as indicated in the original post). I do understand how to load the .pit file with Odin.
The other file (P6200L_STOCK_VJKL4_REV_04_FIRMWARE.rar) contained several files. I am not sure what to do with these files. The files are:
MODEM_P6200LVJKL4_REV_04_CL1089917.tar.md5
P6200L_APBOOT_P6200LVJLA3_CL616007_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
P6200L_CODE_P6200LVJLA3_CL616007_REV02_user_low_ship_16G.tar.md5
P6200L-CSC-MULTI-ZTOLA2.tar.md5
Am I supposed to load the .RAR file into Odin? Or, am I supposed to load one or more of the .md5 files into Odin?
If someone could give me a better idea about what to do with these files, it would be much appreciated.
My current config is:
Model number: GT-P6200

Thank you. Tried that one already, too. No joy.
I'm ready to go back to honeycomb. I've tried so many different root methods that I've lost count. I get the same error every time, regardless of the root.zip file I attempt to use.
The error message is: E: signature verification failed
Thank you for trying to help.
Dude, almost everyone had the same problem after ics upgrade, there r posts everywhere... You can use heimall, but most ppl r too stupid too install correct drivers, so i recommend mobile odin and aorth's cwm 6.0.1.0. (Rename his file to recovery.img and u r ready to go) when thats done, flash that root file with flashed cwm. Done!!!
Couple of other ways with temporary cwm but the best ways anyways is to flash aorth's cm9 after cwm. Root, is of course included.

I understand exactly what you are telling me. Thank you for your reply. From what I am reading, my GT-P6200L has to be rooted already in order to use Mobile Odin. The entire problem I am having is not being rooted. I am trying to accomplish root. Did I misunderstand something in regard to being rooted before using Mobile Odin?
Oh yeah, i forgot, ur right ^^ hear ya go: if unable to use heimdall, use temp. cwm to flash root
But why you dont just flash cm9? Ever tried it? Not many ppl here do like samsungs touchwiz bloatware, do you? Just install permanent cwm from aorth with heimdall or mobile odin after root and you r good to flash cm9. Just follow instructions in aoths thread.
ROOT AFTER ICS UPDATE
Flash with heimdall. Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508703
Code: heimdall flash --recovery recovery.img
Use aorth's img version from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29077817
And rename to recovery or type full file name instead of recovery.img
Than flash root+supersu from recovery. flashable zips here:
http://goo.im/superuser and that root.zip what u already have
Or use this method here with temporary cwm touch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28689474
Confirmed working but only temporary cwm with that way.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can do a backup of your current state, or you can flash a new rom from via zip file
If you have recovery your good to go. I do recommend doing a backup before you flash anything though just in case something goes wrong.

OK..you are rooted and now have recovery CMW 6.0.1.0 which you flashed with ez recovery (all you need to do with that app, you are done with it). At this point just pick a rom that you want...example SynergyROM. All you would do is download the rom and place it on your SD card...I would recommend the extSDCard.
Boot your device into recovery by holding the buttons to do it or just open EZ recovery and hit button 'boot recovery' option only. Find the zip on ext card and that is it...
Always do a backup first which you can do in recovery before flashing the new rom and save that to your ext sdcard also which is an option in 6.0.1.0 after backup then flash new rom
Thank you all for the info

Do we even use Rom Mgr? I think this where I'm making mistakes.
You don't need to use Rom Manager. You have the EZ recovery that flashes a recovery. Rom manager does the exact same thing but EZ recovery makes it simple. Just do what post 3 says and you'll be fine. I just started using EZ recovery 3 days ago and I've already flashed a recovery and a custom kernel. The EZ recovery is only foe flashing recoveries...don't ever try to flash a custom Kernel through it. You can flash custom kernels through CWM Recovery the same way you flash custom rooms, but you need a recovery that supports kexec which would be CWM 6..which is what you have.
Current~Samsung Galaxy S3 SynergyRom 1.3 & Imo's Lean Kernel v12 Oc'd @ 1.9ghz
~Acer Iconia A500 Stock
Past~Droid X Gummy ICS 1.2

[FIX] Flashing Stock Rom/Custom ROM over Angeeks ROM

I'm facing a weird problem. I can't flash stock rom via Odin. The phone is always stuck on the Samsung screen. Tried xxlq7/xxlq9. I'm on angeeks rom. Wanted to try the blueberry sensation rom.
So for that I tried flashing xxlq9 again as recommended and faced this issue.
EDIT [FIX]
As suggested by Kartik pat i was able to successfully flash stock rom over angeeks rom
I followed the following steps:
1. Take tb for all apps [angeeks rom]
2. Restore any gingerbread backup you might have from CWM. Boot your device.
3. Flash xxlq9 via Odinv3. Boot device
4. Flash cwm4. Boot device.
5. Flash ardatdat kernel v4.0 [ensures the erase bug issue is resolved]
6. Boot System
7. Reboot into recovery. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache.
8. Boot system and tada
If you want to flash bb rom over this then:
1. Flash the bb rom v1. Reboot.
2. Flash the bug fix zip. Reboot.
3. Flash sensation mod
P.s. this method worked for me using the gb backup and cwmv4.
Hope this helps.
EDIT 2:
As posted by vikesh....
Hey Buddies,
I did few R&D over Angeek ROM. As we are facing problem after Flashing NORDIC ROM over this One.
Here is the procedure:
If you Have any Back of ICS / GB then only apply these changes. Coz I have already did this.
Caution: Please take your Backup before then Try to Do below mentioned steps.
1) Requirements:
1.1) Must b having Ardatdat's eMMC erased Kernel i.e. V4.0 & higher.
1.2) ODIN V 3.07
1.3) Latest Kies Installed (for USB drivers)
1.4) Latest XXQL9 NORDIC ROM
1.5) CMW 6.0.1.1 for CMW flashing & CMW 6.0.1.1.tar for ODIN.
1.6) A PC..(of course):silly:
2) Flashing:
As per Suggestion by chandanbs, NORDIC ROM is almost come with Full in System Rom Partition.
So, here is few suggestion which was already suggested by our Great Mj.vikram buddy over this Thread & see Post no #8 there.
Hope, your ROM Partition is 619/620MB.
After Flashing above procedure, If you have flashed Ardatdat's Kernel first & have installed any ROM Specially ANGEEK ROM(coz having problem in that rom particularly as per users) Then Follow the Process:
2.1) Go to CMW Recovery MOD & Install Latest CMW 6.0.1.1
2.2) Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
2.3) Go to CMW recovery again & Just Restore you previous backup of any ROM.
2.4) Open ODIN 3.07(Right Click over Exe & select "Run As Administrator") & Follow the steps for flashing Stock ROM using this tutorial
2.5) After Booting just Flash CMW V6 using ODIN 3.07.
2.6) Don't Wipe Data / Factory Reset or Wipe cache / dalvik Cache. Just let it boot.
Now you have Successfully Flashed Nordic ROM over Angeek / Any other ROM.

It gets stuck for like 10-15 secs but later it flashes ROM properly,
@mj whats wrong to do it with V1.85?
@pulley I also faced same problem yesterday, but I think that time i did not mount/unmout system so I reflashed BB again by pressing two times mount>unmount (final would be unmount/system), so just press two times, still not booting then again wipe all 3 (cache, dalvik and data)
I think there is few points we should consider while flashing BB or MAZEL2 rom if u are on ANGEEK ROM.
If anybody who sucessfully flashed Stock rom & then BB or Mazel 2 after Angeek, must come in front and give us the solution.

CM11 by m4jonez
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/cm11-samsung-galaxy-s-duos-kitkat-4-4-4-t3024762
CM11 by m4jonez needed TWRP 2.7 to flash. However using the CWM attatched in this thread, you can flash CM11 on s7562. TWRP was not loading on some phones so this is an alternative. Leave a thanks if this helped
and thanks to @ m4jonez for developing CM11 for our device :good::good:
Instructions
1 flash the stock ROM given in the cm11 thread
2 wipe data, cache and dalvik cache

4 reboot to CWM recovery and flash CM11
Screenshots are attatched
