[Q] Reason For Bootloop? - HTC One S

What is the reason for bootloop? I tried every possible solution and nothing is working. Does anyone have a problem with bootloop and still haven't fixed it. Every Rom I try to install either gets stuck on the loading screen on keeps on restarting. I locked and unlocked the bootloader and did all that. Still nothing. I tried installing the RUU and get the error 155 :[

I believe so...is it required for each Rom installation ?

Have u factory reset after that?
u need to factory reset ur phone manually because the data u have wont work with different version of android roms

Different ROMs will use different boot.img files for optimisations with said ROM. Just try flashing the boot.img for the ROM you're using and you should be good to go.

Thats strange, the old driver is working then but not the new one. Normally that would have something to do with the module not getting loaded or something, but on a fresh, unmodified fallout 5.0 installation it should work. How are you doing the full wipe?

WiFi and Hotspot not working
I got the same issue.
However, the problem occurs when i restart the handset. Each time I restart the kernel changes to Kernel: 3.0.16-g62a67df [email protected]#PREEMPT.
lowveld also thinks this might be the problem.
Can any one help? i do not have the PG88 thing on my SD card. why is the kernel changing automatically when i restart?
Figured out my problem. I used fastboot boot boot.IMG which is wrong the correct command is fastboot flash boot boot.IMG. WiFi and hotspot is working like a charm with fallout ver 5
Hope this might help someone else
I would like to appriciate lowveld for his awesome Rom and his support

Which kernel are you using?
Based on some searching and lowveld this issue might be caused by old ones.
I used this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845039
It worked for me

Don't forget to flash the boot.img again after you install the kernel. Some boot.img can be found in the kernel folder of the zip

Shut down the phone. Remove your SIM. Power it on and try WiFi. If works that you will be one the unfortunate users with country code issues (more info here)
If it is not the case I suggest to to da full wipe using 4EXT Recovery and install everything again.

I'm still s on and htcdev unlocked but able use 4ext recovery without any problem. Try to download the 4ext recovery again and flash it using fastboot. Download recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377745.
After flashing the recovery do the whole full wipe, boot.img flash etc all over again.
Best of luck!

Flashing factory images?Which type of images(I'm bad at this sorry >.<)
Okay, problem solved.Using the "ADB push" method will do.By following this guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929 Just simply push the ROM into the SD card through fastboot mod,and flash the ROM,then everythings work fine. The ROM I used is Nexus S original ROM download from net.

Google says error 6 means an error in the updater script. Since other people have used it with no problems, I would guess a bad download.
Try redownloading the ROM. Then push it to sdcard using adb while booted into recovery. Then try again.

OTA help with root

I have a stock Rom rooted One S. Can I install the newest OTA update? It tried to install the update and failed. Then failed again through recovery.

Have you flashed a custom recovery? I believe OTAs only install if phone has stock recovery.
If you are running a custom recovery, flash the stock one and try again .
Rooting has no affect on OTAs as long as the ROM is stock (or stock enough). Someome else could confirm this ?

Ok, this didn't work. The OTA update gets halfway and then gets a red triangle and then restarts the phone.
Searched for a couple hours and not getting anywhere. Can someone give me some tips?
RUU back to stock, then apply the OTA if you really want it.
