[Q] Are There Any Sense 4 Keyboards Ported For Jellybean? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I've seen a few on here strictly for Sense 4 based devices. I hate Sense but love the keyboard it uses & was wondering if I could get it while on CM10 Jellybean.
Also if not, where could I go to request such keyboard be ported? I've got cash

JB 4.2 keyboard is pretty good IMO. What sense feature(s) do you like?

The buttons are bigger. The haptic feedback is nice & light. The auto correct is pretty good too. I like the keys the most. With Swiftkey's I'm not nearly as accurate as I am with Sense 4's...

I think rohan has a request page somewhere on here, or a link to it. I'd look in the themes and apps to see if he has a thread for requests and request it be ported over.
If I knew how to do it, I would.

I checked rohan's profile to no avail so I'll just check that area for a request thread. Thanks for your help...

swiftkey works great on both sense roms and aosp, bigger buttons and lots of options.

Like I said in another post in here I prefer the Sense's keyboard to swiftkey...

Is it possible to get the sense 4+ keyboard apk and install it on my One S? I really hate to have arrow keys on my keyboard because it's completely useless for me. And the sense 4+ keyboard has an option to disable the arrow keys, while the sense 4.1 doesn't. Anyone? TIA!

I ask because I was reading this article and it was talking about how much better the ICS keyboard was...so I decided to search good ol' XDA and this was the first result.

Really? That Galaxy thread says it's different from the theme'd GB one.
Update: Yeah, that method worked in the other threads...I made a new thread detailing the process. I don't want you to think I'm stepping on your shoes, just wanted a legit ICS version. Thanks!!
What's the keyboard version number?
I was about to update the op too...
EDIT: Found the info
The keyboard i posted was from android 2.3.7 and the one that people clam to be porting is also 2.3.7.

Possible port ICS sense from Sensation

i found this link in sensation thread. is it possible to port it on MT4G? and how hard?
Porting overall is pretty hard. I don't know the first thing about it, except that it would probably take a lot of time.

the easiest to port from is the desire hd. Its fairly simple for that device (most of the time) so if the dhd gets one id take a crack at it but till then..not so sure
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
The hardest part would be the kernel. I think we would need the htc kernel source for it on our device.. I'll give it a try tho and see

I really didn't like the look of it. I'll take stock ics but we'll see what HTC added to it.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
You're gonna have to modify a load of m10 files or you're going to have a lot of things falling off the screen. A kernel is gonna be even worse since you need a Sense compatible ICS kernel, and that won't be fun to conjure up.
Is it possible to see how the camera is configured in that ROM. An take another aosp ics ROM, remove the camera in it, then try to put it in Feb's ROM? Just a thought.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Thats what i was thinking,to see if we can get the camera working i posted earlier,i think ppl r striping it down once its on there senstaion and using ics laucher, getting rid of alot of sense features, this is just frm my observations of the thread on sensations boards!!!

Being that it is sense, I'm figuring it has sense framework, that won't work with aosp. But sering how it works well be helpful. Another thought would be to take a gnex ROM, rip it apart, find the camera files. Keep in mind where they go, then try to duplicate it in our ROM.

Many core apps don't really work, but at least we get the real launcher. Most of the things can be ripped out easily or by deleting the apk from /system/app.

(Q) What is the Sense launcher called?

I have been looking and I just can't figure out what I should freeze to disable the Sense home launcher. Any help is appreciated!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Actual apk should be called Rosie but in tibu it should just be listed as HTC Sense.
Unless you have a couple of launchers to choose from I wouldn't recommend it.
There is no benefit to doing so.

Agreed. Disabling your only launcher is just asking for really odd behavior from your device.
Instead of disabling or freezing (bad idea) the native launcher why not just dl go launcher or one of the other launchers in market? That's what I did on my amaze. Go launcher was just perfect for me.
Haven't done so yet on the hoxxl I don't mind sense 4.
Hope that helps
Sent from my HTC One X
Correct me if I'm wrong but, if you leave default launcher (no uninstall/freeze) and use different one instead, it won't improve on memory usage, will it?
It seems this phone, as much beast as it might be, uses over 60% of memory after factory reset, leaving only maybe 200mb for running additional software...I'd say Sense is to blame for most of it...
Obviously I have another launcher. I have always installed my launcher of choice and frozen the stock one on any Rom I've had. I don't see an entry called HTC sense, I'll keep looking.

I must disagree with you on that .
I like the new look with simpler icons and widgets more than the current one.
I especially like the looks of new lockscreen. Hope the usability has also been improved. I might be clumsy or something, but i find the current ring shortcuts too difficult to use. I'm currently running stock JB and have replaced the lock screen with Holo Locker.
As long as its faster, I'll take it
OMG sense is getting worse with every update, sense 3.6 pisses all over sense 4 and up, what are HTC doing ? every update just cuts it down a bit more, i HATE stock android its the main reason i buy HTC ffs but they are becoming bland like stock

I'm with him... I really like Sense 4 - 4.5. =/
So it's basically your usual Sense update. Some like it, some don't, none can grasp that.
Cool.
It's cool for a slimmed down Sense look that is. What would be really cool is if there was an option in Settings for plain vanilla Android or the Sense version.
