wifi problems on tweaked 3.0 - Verizon Droid Charge

I installed tweaked 3.0 on my wife's droid charge and thought everything was fine cause she had not compained about it. After four months of being on this rom she comes up to me and says her wifi is not working. She cant remember if it ever worked or if it was just after I installed tweaked on it. I tried to enable wifi and it turns on and starts searching for a wifi connection, after a while it comes back saying "unable to scan for networks" and then disables wifi. Any tips will be appreciated, thanks.

Have you checked to see if there is anything in the proxy settings? There seems to be something adding some proxy server info into some peoples phones. Go to advanced under wifi then proxy and clear it if there is anything in there. The fact that it is being disabled is odd though. Maybe an app? :what:
. :: TSM Tweaked 3.0 . FP5 Kernel . Pirated Theme :: .

We'll thanks for the quick reply, but there was nothing on the proxy to clear.

Yeah I'm stumped on this. It could be a app like Antoneus said. Maybe Dwith has some input?

FP5 kernel?
Still Charged Up

sounds like the kernel. what kernel are you using? tweaked 3.0 only works with stock FP5. some other custom kernels have been known to break wifi.

I have been running FP1 PBJ custom kernel over Tweaked 3 FP5 for a couple months now with no issues. A couple weeks after Tweaked 3 was officially released I tried it, and I am loving it still.
(~: Tweaked out on Peace :~)

There have been some reports with wifi and general network connectivity issues, but it seems somewhat hit-or-miss. That being said, it prompted me to dig around a bit and I noticed some things were not quite right in the updater-script I was using. These things have been corrected in what will be 3.1, and from what has been reported to me it seems this resolved the situation.
That being said - if you are using an EP4 kernel on tweaked 3 wifi will not work. As tmanschuette said though, when using fp1 wifi will work fine.

Ok here's my info, build number:sch-I510.fp1
Kernel:2.6.35.7-ep4
I can't find which tweaked I'm running..
Thanks for the info

OK - if you are running tweaked then its a 2.x version, and that ep4 kernel is what's making your WiFi not work. Try flashing the fp1 pbj kernel - its a good one

ah, thanks. thought that might be the case - did not know if a custom FP5 was in testing mode...
which PBJ are you using, 0524, 0502? Tonist?

[Kernel][KG2]Bali Tweaks + OC! 1.28Ghz

I added kernel tweaks from raspdeep's I9000 OC and got our bali kernel to OC, I'm running at 1.2 Ghz right now. I haven't tested this in terms of battery life, but there's a good chance your battery life may be less. So use with caution.
This 1.2 Ghz OC feels smoother and faster than stock, and better and more stable than 1.28Ghz. If you tried the 1.28 and gave up, try this 1.2, it's much better. I removed the link to the 1.28Ghz kernel because it was causing too many problems for everyone, and actually being slower due to freezing and overheating.
Battery life and stability not guaranteed
Use setcpu to control your cpu speed.
Credits to Dr. Honk for bali original, and raspdeep for OC source.
THIS IS FOR KG2 ONLY!
I have flashed this both on stock and on a custom KG2 rom, they both worked.
link removed because it was unstable - 1.28Ghz
Updated 1.2 KERNEL: http://www.multiupload.com/3QPMQY476F

I provide no guarantees that this will work, make a backup before you try this!
This was really only made for all the kids who kept asking for an OC kernel.
It has been suggested that the 1.2Ghz kernel may be more stable, so I would suggest trying that one instead of the 1.28Ghz kernel
Flashing right now . You beat me too it ;p

I'll try adding in UV mods later, but I have to go home from work for now.
Remember once you add UV to check the voltage . Just a reminder & The kernel flash's but it auto-reboot's & then stay's stuck on SK4G splash screen .

Well it works on mine, so it's not broken entirely, so something has to be different here. pulling the link until its more tested.
Now that I think about it, the issue might have been that you were all on rfs, rather than ext4
if you can get back to CWM you can just flash the old kernel
Ok reflashed old kernel. All is well.

[KERNEL] AT&T Stock-ish 0.3 BLN/USB-OTG/NFS/FUSE/init.d/adb root/boot animation

This is a mostly stock AT&T kernel I've packaged up. Its features include the BLN patch, USB-OTG support and in-kernel NFS and FUSE modules. The ramdisk has been tweaked to support init.d scripts, adb as root and boot animations (on those ROMs that support it - such as my Alien ROM).
I've tried to keep any other changes to a minimum. There is no UV/OC patching, etc as this kernel along with Alien ROM already perform outstanding.
You can grab it here.
Version 0.2 with NLS UTF-8 support is here.
Version 0.3 based on the UCLA3 kernel is here. I recommend you use the UCLA3 modem from here.
If you want to revert to stock AT&T 2.3.6 UCKK1, you can get it here. Thanks to pookieguy for the stock files!
Source is here.

Even though I am accustom to zImage kernels and these are forign to me....I am no stranger to source. I have to say good job.
I am currently in the process of repacking a stock kernel, and am having a tremndous amount of trouble. I believe its my repacking scripts and methods....never the less, I am working on a rom release (without a device no less)
And with your permission I would be very pleased to include this kernel with the distrubtion.
May I?
Thanks

How its battery life...will it work on skyrocketeer?
Sent via rooted SkyRocket
Battery life is the best I've seen. I'm running this on Skyrocketeer with the conservative governor set and the screen off frequency set at 192. Unlike Da_G's higher performance kernel, this one keeps the 2nd core offline until there is a heavy load, greatly increasing my battery life. I still get a 6400 score on CF-bench, while overclocked to 1.78 on Da_G's I get around 7800.
NM i got it.

Will the boot animation support in this kernel allow me to flash a new animation to the rooted stock 2.3.6?

Just put a boot animation named sanim.zip in the system/media folder and it will work with this kernel.

Is it bad to run the new FP1 modem with the pbj kernel? I thought I read using a kernel that's made for a different modem can cause problems.

Sky-ics v7.4 ROM with faux 10m

I have skyics 7.4 running great. I just flashed faux 10m kernel and bam my auto rotation is reversed. I meant when I hold phone in portrair, it display landscape and vice versa.
Anyone know how to fix this issue? I tried to search but couldn't find a definitive answer. BTW, I have ATT skyrocket phone.
Many thanks
It sounds like you don't have the correct kernel for the Skyrocket. Is this the Kernel you are using?

Now I'm doubtful. I might have downloaded a wrong version. I re-downloaded from link above and now works like butter.

Tweaked 2.0 kernel options?

Ok all...I know about the wifi issues and all but here's my dilemma. I want ext4 on my phone but to have wifi I need to have the stock fp1 kernel which in turn makes me have rfs. Is there anyway any of you know of I could have wifi and ext4?

Go back to an EP4D based ROM, like Tweaked 1.5. Otherwise, someone will have to either modify the stock kernel or we'll need to wait until the source is released for it. Is RFS that much of a problem for you? I don't really have any performance issues with it on FP1.

I've been running rfs since FP1 came out and haven't had any issues with it. I probably would run ext4 if it were available, but I don't have any lag or any problems with rfs. They've gotten it pretty solid in recent builds.
Yeah I havent noticed any real problems with it but its just the reputation rfs has for being laggy

I believe most of that reputation is earned by misinterpreting Quandrant scores. Yes ext4 is much faster in raw read/write speeds, but raw speeds don't matter that much in the grand scheme of things unless you're streaming large amounts of data off of I/O. You will almost never being doing that on a smartphone.
Yeah I didn't notice any difference after using it for a day now

Check your wifi proxy settings. It should be blank.
FP1 source is out now, so we'll hopefully have a source compiled kernel in the next week or two.
