Hi
I have rooted my note 10.1 n8000, but want to get ota again. Do i just have to flash stock recovery in mobile odin under the section recovery and then it will get ota and still be rooted?

The simplest way is probably to flash the stock rom again. Then by default with no other options checked you will be stock. Details of Mobile Odin here
But you will loose root....
If you download the Stock rom from sammobile then you can flash it through mobile ODIN. You need to download file (zip file), unzip it and put the .md5 file on your sd card or internal storage. Run Mobile ODIN, if you haven't run it before it will need to download some files, then pick OTA/update and select where you put it. Select the file, make sure everoot options are ticked and wipe cache and dalvik are ticked too... Click on flash firmware and it will ask if you want to check the md5 checksum, do this as it checks if the file isn't complete or is corrupted, it won't flash. If all is ok it will ask again giving the usual warnings. If you aren't scared off by the warnings it will flash the firmware. I tend to have a greater than 50% charge when doing this and usually have it plugged into power.
After flash completes and it loads into Android you will still have root but will be on stock recovery. You will need to either use PC ODIN or mobile ODIN to restore this...

If someone hasn't taken any updates prior to the new one, once it releases for their device, do they need to apply each update individually prior to the newest one?
Can anyone confirm that flash is still usable in JB?

Ok, i haven't been at this very long but i thought i would try to root my GT-P3110 tab.
So i did and tried everything here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722745&highlight=galaxy+tab+2+7+p3110
Resulting i bootloop, and i have searched everywhere for a solutionbut nothing helped, so i tried reinstall the
firmware (from SamMobile.com), but it failed too and now im in the state
where it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue...". I've tried redoing it with no result...
Is my tablet totally bricked or is i possible to fix?
I think it is soft brick as you could enter download mode and recovery mode try to download firmware from www.samfirmware.com and enter download mode and try flashing with pc odin
Make sure that samsung drivers are installed and that when you connect tab to pc a yellow line inside it a port with somenumber appear in odin before flashing
Sent from my GT-P5100 using xda app-developers app
done it!
Yeah, iv'e done that several times with different .md5 files and all i get is this:
View attachment 1282334
Some experiments
1-Make sure that samsung drivers are installed and reboot computer afterwards for them to be applied or even install kies and reboot afterwards
2-Connect device to different usb port and try again try those usb in rear case not the front may be reboot afterwards
3-Download file again may be corrupted download and make sure it is for you model number specifically for 3110 not any other
4-Download odin again and try version 1.85 works best for me
5- Make sure you are in download mode not recovery mode it says downloading now do not turn off target
6- Make sure extension of file is tar or tar.md5
7- See if you could enter recovery mode by volume up+power in boot and if it is cwm try to flash cm9 or 10 from site www.teamhacksung.com for your device 3110 not any device else if you entered old stock recovery then connect with kies and try option of recovery in it make sure computer connected to internet

As i know pit files ard somewhat dangerous if used incorrectly leave them as last resort as they format system completely and repartition it and do not try pit files individually try those which come with the stock rom only they are specifically for this rom if you download stock rom and find pit file so you could use it if you did not find pit file in the stock rom only a tar file so do not use a pit file from external source

Then this might be the problem? But if i reinstall the stock .pit file it should do the trick? Got to solve this man, thanks for all the help!

Same Problem, but I can't get the download mode
Ok so I have the same tab, with the same problem, but I can't get the dowload mode. When I try to... It just boots back to the "error screen".
I've tried to use Odin to restore it but no matter what I do I get "Fail".

Because kpe is came with full firmware that is (bootloader, pda, phone, csc)
And when you use pit file you need all these files

why KPE+PIT
OK, first for all, we have 2 type of firmware.
1. one package .tar file.
2. component type firmware .tar file.
for one package type, you only see one tar file which are flash using odin place in the PDA box. this is the incremental patch from you current working phone. you find all the data still in place.
for the component type firmware, you will have 3 or 4 tar file to flash using odin and place it in respective box. you will need to reset you phone, all the data will gone.
so, why must using component type, if need to flash to stock. Becuase you already corropted the firmware.
1. you have change the recovery partition and rooted and with custome kernel.
2. you have converted to EXT4, (stock is rfs)
3. you have bootloop because the above you have done.
others which having same thing done but not at bootloop, its becuase their done the home work (search and read). this i'm very sure about it.
so, if you have the boot loop, mean you done some step wrong.
so to save you, follow the instruction on the link above you should be fine.
legend:
pit file - this is partition information table, to tell the odin and phone how to prepare the partition for flashing.
example: I9003_latona_20110114.pit
PDA tar: contant all the system partition.
example: I9003DXKF1-REV08-ALL-low-CL1020446.tar
CSC tar: contant of regional specified setting
example: GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OLBKB2.tar
Modem: contant the hardware setting.
example:MODEM_I9003DXKB2_REV_00_CL863799.tar
bootloader, do not use this, if you are not upgrading from Froyo to GB. as this is a very important portion of you phone. ( the name already tell you that, "boot" "loader") do not mass with it.
same as PC, when you infected by virus or you have done someting corrupted the file of windows, you will need a reformat or reinstall OS.
hence, for the phone, flash the KPE+PIT
same as PC, when you wanted to update the windows update, you will just click the update and the windows patch file will install, same as you flash the 1 package firmware.
that all, hope you can understant

no that "must" use KPE, it depend on your choose, as long as it is component type firmware, i use DXKF1, so far so good. and most importantly you can use it with pit file. note: 1 package tar file can not use with pit file.
if you want to solve the bootloop, either you do trouble shoot the rootcause, or close you eyes, and once and for all "reformat" your phone.
that why we need the pit.
hope you "already" know that.
BTW, i see no different on KPE on battery life. i use DXKP9 it is a GB, and flash Bam Kernel. battery life is good 1.5day per charge.
I tried doing some research but with no luck. I wanted to ask if there is a way to flash a completely stock ROM I download straight from the Samsung site using maybe CWM or Odin. And how would I go on to have it rooted? I've just been having issues even with the stock debloated ROM available so I want to give this a try. Thanks in advance for any feedback and help

So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ics to root it simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery and once the recovery is flashed using Odin reboot into recovery and flash the superuser.zip then you'll have Rooted Stock ICS Firmware
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock or custom recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot and you're good to go.

The only thing I will add here is that you don't need the .pit file (it also eliminates the chance of accidental re-partition). Just use the .tar.md5 file as the pda and flash. Also, there isn't any chance of boot looping when flashing the file from the samfirmware site. First boot will take up to 10 minutes.

I think installing clockworkmod for wiping isn't an option. The op flashed stock Rom probably because he wants his warranty back
Installing clockworkmod again would void it again. If the stock Rom you downloaded is the one you had before rooting, then try flashing it again. If it's not, then download your originally out of box stock Rom and flash it with Odin.
Like...the same baseband version as the one you had before any modification of your system

There are no my contry ROM. I stucked with bootloops and debug options OFF. What to do???! It's driving me crazy...
After almost two weeks of seeking for solutions all over internet, the problem was solved. First of all there are no way to root without debuging off via odin o any other tool. All what you have, is just to look for your original firmware of the phone, and it supposed to be four file package.
Looks like:
FULL_CSC_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_MODEM_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_PDA_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
s2ve.pit
In this case it was german phone so files end with DBT.
CSC - as CSC
MODEM - as CP or PHONE
PDA - as AP or PDA
and pit file for re-partition.
The name of whole package is GT-I9105P-DBT-I9105PXXAMC2_Service-Firmware.zip
For those asking for delete dalvik/cache/factory reset, the solution is - RE-PARTITION!
I used also option Nand Erase All, just to be sure I delete everything.
All other operations goes as usual in Odin.
I can't post links here, bat me mercy on those looking for solution for days and weeks long.
So here is link that I found on some forum that leading to (thanx Goshhhh!!!) to Google docs, so download was just 5 min. long.

After almost two weeks of seeking for solutions all over internet, the problem was solved. First of all there are no way to root without debuging off via odin o any other tool. All what you have, is just to look for your original firmware of the phone, and it supposed to be four file package.
Looks like:
FULL_CSC_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_MODEM_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_PDA_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
s2ve.pit
In this case it was german phone so files end with DBT.
CSC - as CSC
MODEM - as CP or PHONE
PDA - as AP or PDA
and pit file for re-partition.
The name of whole package is GT-I9105P-DBT-I9105PXXAMC2_Service-Firmware.zip
For those asking for delete dalvik/cache/factory reset, the solution is - RE-PARTITION!
I used also option Nand Erase All, just to be sure I delete everything.
All other operations goes as usual in Odin.
I can't post links here, bat me mercy on those looking for solution for days and weeks long.
So here is link that I found on some forum that leading to (thanx Goshhhh!!!) to Google docs, so download was just 5 min. long.
Here is German (DBT) package, and some other usefull links. Use G. translator to understand.

Hey. I tried using the search feature but perhaps my keywords are wrong or just to broad. I'm running stock, rotted using zedomax's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152). I want to get the latest OTA, but when using the software update, of course I get the error for the tablet being modified. There seems to be a process in order to get the OTA, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

As you know when you are rooted you can not get OTA updates, you need to install the update manually.
You will have to goto http://samfirmware.com/ register and then look for the firmware that is for your device and region in the tab "Check Your Firmware".
After downloading the firmware follow the directions by Zedomax on "How to Unroot/Unbrick Galaxy Note 10.1! [Factory Firmware]"
it is the same process and you will lose root.
You could also install via Mobile Odin and choose to inject root, su, and mobile odin on installation. I am also stock rooted and use this method to stay up to date and maintian root.

Or simply use Kies and root again .

So with this option I'll be able to unroot, update, then re-root at the same time?

There is no need to unroot. This method roots the firmware as it is installed.
Download the firmware from sammobile to your SD
Open mobile Odin
Use mobile Odin to locate firmware on SD
Check options you want- root, inject su, inject mobile Odin, etc
Push flash firmware.

Open Mobile ODIN
Select OTA/Update ZIP
Choose your file
Choose everroot options, if you wish
Select Flash
