Currently I am on a family plan through Sprint, with my ex, and we were planning on going in soon to separate them, but I was wondering if they would allow me to switch to my friend's family plan instead since I'll be living with him.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with this and maybe any tips!

I just received a letter in the mail from AT&T stateing that they would be adding "mobile to any mobile calling" to my messaging plan at no additional cost. Now, my question is, since they are changing my plan without my consent, am I able to get out of my two year contract without playing the ETF? I apologize if this has already been discussed, just provide the link.

No they are giving you an additional service for free.

I figured I was wishful thinking...
Though if the Nexus Prime is everything is "supposed" to be, I might have to break contract for it...

Hi guys, I've been searching for this answer a lot recently and were hoping all of you fine users could resolve it for me.
You see right now I'm on Verizon and I want to switch to Sprint for a cheaper line (and for the new Evo,) but my mom wants to stay on Verizon. Today we tried getting the 2 yr. Contract Evo on Amazon and it told her it would have to cancel out her whole Verizon contract, which we don't want. So is it possible for her to have the Verizon and Sprint lines both under her name with out canceling the Verizon one?
Bumpity bump

I think you can
I'm starting to get tired of ATT, and I would like to switch providers. I only need unlimited data, and the ability to tether. I would also like to have the ability to keep my GSM phones active, but that's not a requirement. Does anybody have an idea who I could switch to?
No such provider exists. The closest thing you could get is the new Tmobile plan but it still has a soft limit (they throttle you) at 5GB.
I'm grandfathered in on AT&T's unlimited plan...when they threaten to take it away I threaten to go elsewhere.... 3 phones on my plan (Family Plan) and all 3 unlimited...not bragging, but only bring it up hoping you can tell them you want unlimited or you are going to another company that offers it. Won't hurt to try...good luck!

AT&T throttles the "unlimited" users at 3GB. I know because this happens to me almost every month.
OP... I believe sprint is still unlimited . Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm thinking about going to straight talk

With the APN settings I use, I don't get throttled. Do a search, pretty simple settings. So many on here using it, surprised you're not. Great 4G towers in this area for AT&T, not so much for Sprint. But if Sprint is good in your area then I say make the switch! Seems like you already made up your mind anyways.

I've tried the single APN settings. Still get throttled. The thread I read, everyone was saying there was no work around getting throttled... :-/

This company and their phones are totally f'd. On my 5th refurb cause of this damn service, stupid idiot customer service f'd my plan up and now Im getting charged everything international and no1 in my family knows any1 out of this country. This service totally blows, I feel bad for leaving T-Mobile and regret it BIG TIME! I would try T-Mobile, as their plans are a lot better.

I personally switched to Straight Talk.....I'm on YouTube, Netflix, and droidtv all the time. Haven't noticed any significant throttling as of yet. Of course they are paying to "rent" att towers so i wouldn't be shocked to see throttling happen.

I've seen some threads that are close, but I wanted to know if I can flash my GS3 from Sprint for use on the Verizon network? I'm not trying anything shady, it's just that Sprint's network has me about at my end, and I was given a demo S3, and man, it's not even close.
So, I have an S3, with no outstanding contract from Sprint, can I use it with a new account on Verizon? Just trying to avoid ending up with a Sprint GS3...
Thanks

Don't worry about it. Sell the sprint one and use that money to buy you a brand new s3 or better. S3 will be free for black Friday. If you want to sell the s3 its going for about 300-400 in perfect shape. 200+ used.

One thing I will tell you is that moving to verizon is the best decision you will ever make. Whatever money you lose by selling the sprint gs3 and getting the verizon one is sooooooo worth it. Words cannot describe. I was a Sprint customer for 10 yrs...

+1 I hated Sprint. Cancelled within months. Went to Verizon and couldn't be happier.

I just recently opened a Verizon account and got 2 GS3s and waiting until my wife's contract to be up on 11/25 to finally get off this garbage Sprint network. My line is down to a $50 ETF, I'm paying it because I am not willing to stay on any longer on this snail pace 3G and non existent 4G Wimax/4G LTE in my area. Now I'm on Verizon and they have 4G LTE everywhere!
I had Verizon. Hated them. Ive had all 4 major carriers and sprint is still my favorite.

Agreed.
Hey I come from the land of crap data plans a.k.a. Canada. Its known for,$10 a gb and 2ยข a MB overage fees.
I have a nexus 7 without 3g connection. Is it possible to take a old smart phone and set it up with a tablet data plan? The idea here is to have a tablet plan on my phone to tether my nexus bypassing the upcharge for the 3g model.

That's going to be carrier dependant. I have ATT and I know they don't allow that. Pretty sure sprint and verizon don't either.

Yep. Im currently in Canada using a bell tablet data plan on my s3. Works perfectly, tethering to my laptop and all. I got it with the first 2 months unlimited data, but i think that promo is over.
Telus is supposed to have a similar deal going on, just make sure they add the unlimited data. I had a problem because they forgot to do it at the store, otherwise its been working fine.
