ROM Update & CWM = No WIFI, SD card or dock - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Mistake.....
Have a ASUS TF101, running Android Revolution HD 3.5.1 with Raymanfx kernel 2.6.39.4ASUS (appeared to be updated after flashing ROM)
Installed a ROM (Team EOS) on the weekend, everything went fine until I was installing GAPPS as I used clockwork-mod app to boot into recovery then I got a CWM loop which I managed to correct with some terminal work (as per other XDA post) - then ran a restore and got back to 'normal' but with limited connectivity and accessibility as per below.
The problem is:
*can't read SD card - every time I access storage from setting it crashes
*WIFI and Bluetooth won't turn - wifi just states 'turning on' and bluetooth appears to be working but does not connect to devices
*Can't connect TF101 to PC, does not initiate connection and/or no changes in Device Manager even after scanning for changes
*Every time I connect the docking station it beeps and screen goes blank.
The above issues means I cannot load any external programs but can only use the data I currently have on SD Card which are:
*cwm_recovery-5504_roach-tf101
*Energy ROM
*Andriod Revolution HD ROM
*Rayman ROM v6
Troubleshooting so far:
I have used terminal window to fix the CWM looping issue
Tried to use terminal window to get SD Card to mount - did not work
Tried to connect TF101 to PC to use other tools and transfer data - did not work
Tried loading another ROM - able to load ROM but same connectivity issues
Loaded restore from CWM - worked but same connectivity issues
Can't seem to get anything working that would allow me to connect, any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Kind regards,
Kenny 'rethink' Oldenskov

UPDATE - loaded the Energy ROM, this has somehow enabled the storage and dock
BUT no connectivity through USB, WIFI or Bluetooth

Do not use ROM manager... use twrp or rogue recovery which recognises external recovery, now do a clean and fresh install
Sent from my Transformer using xda app-developers app

Thanks to udupa82 - with lots of wiping and loading/reloading of ROM's I'm now back to a fully functioning TF101 again-->NO MORE CWM ROM Manager

To install TWRP go to Google Play and install GooManager. Open it and select the 'three dot' option at the top right, then select 'Install OpenRecoveryScript'. As long as you have root access it'll install, reboot, and give you TWRP as your recovery option. I had to do this twice to get out of CWM, but it worked just fine.

I managed to get out of the cwm loop as well with some terminal commands... I then use blue tooth w pdanet from my gs3 to get Internet on the tf101 and got goo manager to re flash TWRP and it worked... After that I wiped and restored an old nandroid and bam tablet is good with wifi amd I'm having issue with it connecting to computer w usb tho..... Wondering if u had smae issue as well..... Here's a link to another thread I started to try and get a fix

i hd this problem, unfortunately there is no twrp for my xperia mini pro, what did i do? .
I found that it was sd card related. I tried a new sd card and flashed a new kernel and rom using it and it worked.
Really would appreciate if twrp supported mango too.

Tiamat Xoom v1.4.1 Installing Problem

After alot of fiddling to get the UK Xoom rooted. I have root, I have ClockWork Mod Recovery working.
However I used a root thread that had Tiamat 1.3.0 installed, and I want to upgrade to 1.4.1, however no matter what I try, it doesnt want to do it.
So far done:
Installed ROM Manager Latest
Installed Kernel Manager Latest
Tried to Install Tiamat 1.3.2, 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 from 3 different links in the KManager. None of the 'Download + Flash Kernel' buttons did anything, but seem to reload the list.
I am still on : 2.6.36.3Tiamat_Xoom_v1.3.0-gc02ada7
IF I try and do it via SDCard, the mounting of the SD Card makes me have to format it into a 3 MB thing which cant even fit the Kernel file on. (I am using an 8 GB MicroSD Kingston.
What else should I try?
Okay I have managed to get to v1.4.1 however I put my SD Card in it and made the script using Scripter, however the little animation on the Xoom spinning thing (like the Windows 7 loading thing) just spins around and around and I cannot see it on my PC

I've had nothing but problems with KM. Thought I was the only one... KM goes through the motions-- downloads kernel, says it is flashing it, but after rebooting I am stuck with the same kernel and broken wifi modules. I haven't been able to get CWMR to work, either, so I extracted the meat from the "flashable" zip and pushed everything that way. I am in Europe, but have a Verizon 3G Xoom.

[Q] USB Not recognized by computer after flashing ICS

HI Guys
so here is the thing , everything was working fine, until i flashed ICS the stock rom with CWM, right after flashing my pc was unable to recognize my Transformer as a USB device.
Every time i connect it my transformer freezes for a few seconds and then nothing happens, and on my computer screen it doesn't even recognize a new USB drive.
I tried to connect it to two different computers and the same thing happens which means the problem is with my transformer
Afterwards i Flashed Revolver rom but i still have the same issue
Any one had the same problem? any possible fix for this problem
Edit: Charging Works fine
Thanks
Update: Strangely when i tried to connect the USB when i am on the recovery menu the computer was able to recognize my transformer, ADB was installed but not the MTP so the problem is not a cable or computer problem something much be wrong
I used ViprerMod to root my transformer and i am using Rogue CWM
Thanks
Just flash this update on top of your ROM

Slight hi-jack but I have a question about this.
I updated OTA from scratch (meaning a full and complete wipe). I plugged my tablet into my PC and it downloaded all the drivers. Great!.
I have my Titanium backup folder on the Internal (for some unknown reason why I did that) and I want to put it on my External. I plug the tablet into my PC and the media device icon pulls up. I click on it and both drives pull up and I can open them. Now I want to take my Titanium folder from the internal and put it on the external with just drag and drop. So I drag and drop, only when I click on the folder in the external (tried it to a temp folder on my PC desktop too) it shows as empty. I have USB debugging on and MTP is checked. I have also been able to transfer pix, .zips and other misc files over while inside the tablet with Root Explorer, it is just that the Titanium folder will not cross over for some reason.
Ideas? I did the OTA so not sure that flashable bootloader.zip will work. I am just missing something and I can't figure out what it is. I know they did away with Mass Storage mode with HC and not ICS. How can I get it over there?

Back then I use to use Root Explorer and copy the whole folder over to external sd card. Now TB have the option to backup directly to external sd card.
Ya, but my dumba$$ pulled a copy of my TB from my phone with all my backups (PowerAmp, Jango Music, At-Bat,...) and installed it on the external when I first got the tablet and then copied it over to the internal (because I didn't know there was such a threat of losing internal on this tablet) once I got a new external I wanted to move it back.
I know that in TB you can set the backup destination to wherever you want it to be, but this is an existing backup folder that I am wanting to move. Wonder if I can put it in my dropbox (900mb- but can be trimmed down for some apps that I know don't work and general cleaning house) and pick it back up to my PC and then transfer it over to external?
Edit:: I used Root Explorer to try and copy it over and let it run all night and when I woke up it was still cycling the icon in the center of the screen, 6hrs later.

Thank you very much for your advise , But Doesn't that mean that i will go back to stock rom and i won't be able to use the benifits of the revolver rom?
One other thing i should mention is that i already tried flashing this stock rom once before i flashed revolver rom and i had the exact same problem
i mean first flashed ICS CWM flashable >> USB not recognized
Then i tried with the ICS revolver rom >> Same thing USB not recognized by the computer
All what happens is that my Transformer freezes for a few seconds and nothing shows up on my computer
It sucks not being able to connect your device to the computer i mean it is kind of a deal breaker
Any ideas?

Solved:
After Updating to the Latest revolver Rom 1.3.1
Everything Went Back to normal , USB is recognized by the computer

According to Gnufabio's Latest Changelog:
Added bootloader to solve usb problems for some people
Dont really know what the Bootloader is but Probably this is what was missing

Can anyone give me Adb commands?

Basically this was my problem
Here is my problem today I put the CM9 (march 28th version) rom onto the transformer all was fine until I tried installing Gapps.
Basically I installed Gapps within recovery rebooted and boot loops occurred. However as I deleted the rom off of the internal memory (using roachs recover with internal ) I cannot access the internal memory anymore to put the ROM back on.
I have tired connecting the transformer via USB to 4 computers and the drivers do not install, have downloaded them off the asus website fine but they do not install on windows. The recovery has system mounted so it cant be that ....
Seems like im stuck between a rock and a hard place atm not really sure what to do..

[Q] Having issues with my Nexus S please help :(

Hey Guys,
I have a Nexus S GT-i9023. I was running KangyU 2.2.1 and it was working just fine till last night. This morning when I woke up suddenly everything was in landscape mode. I checked the auto rotate was off I turned it on but it wasn't rotating back to portrait. So at the advice of a friend I switched(did a factory reset, wiped dalvik, cache etc) over to Cyanogenmod and that issue is fixed but now my PC won't detect my phone. It says charging but the "Turn on USB storage doesn't come up" Please help
Thanks in Advance
P.S. I also scanned my device with AVG free from the market and there is no virus either :'(
It was working brilliantly till last night!
Turn off fastcharge? Have a look around as I'm unsure where it is on cm9. Nstools may be useful.
There is no fastcharge in NSTools or in the Settings.
And one more thing my phone said charging from USB sometime back when I connected it to my charger
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Odd. Don't know what it could be but it's probably just a ROM issue of some sort.
No that can't be it. I used CM9 for around a month before switching to Kangy. Thanks anyhow
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Best way to find out is to do a full wipe (data/factory reset, format /system, format /boot) and flash a stock ROM. Might even be a corrupted flash.
Oh, and one more thing. Try going into settings -> storage --> menu --> USB Computer Connection. This might have your answer, though unsure if CM9 even has this.
To flash a stock rom I need to put it on my phone which doesn't seem possible at this time! Or should I try mounting via CWM?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Mount via CWM, of course. Or you can do what i do and setup file shares on your computer and access it through ES File Explorer or similar apps.
Sounds interesting. Can you explain it in detail ?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Depends on operating system. In windows i've made several user and admin accounts with varying permissions, one of which i use only to login via my phone. I've setup all folders i wish to share (or entire drives with the right user account) through windows sharing (not wizard sharing or whatever it's called).
After this is all setup how i like it, ES File Explorer has a window to access network shares. I put in the IP address of my desktop (which is internally static), username and password for the account i want permissions for (for safety saved passwords have minimal access) and then i can open, modify and transfer files both ways as i please, based on the permissions the user account has, all from my phone. Works incredibly well and saves me plugging it in 30 times a day, plus i have general access to the main PC remotely around my house.
Oh so something like TeamViewer? Or dropbox. I can flash the Stock ICS ROM available on xda right?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Stranger issue has come up now. Whenever I plug in my USB , my fone automatically starts Car-Home and goes into Car mode
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Here is what you want. Grab the Recovery Flashable ROM of your choice. Keep in mind that when you reboot into android it will flash stock recovery - delete /system/etc/install-recovery.sh on boot to stop this (you'll need root for this).
It's not like teamviewer or dropbox. It also does not use the internet - only the internal network. Search around for SMB or CIFS, as well as Windows File Sharing (for windows) and Samba (for linux). It's the same system that lets you share printers to multiple computers and setup a school/university/work network with all user data stored on a mostly remote server rather than on each workstation so it's accessable from any workstation connected to the local network.
I have a stock Gingerbread backup I had taken while rooting my phone. Will that work?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
It will work, but there's nothing quite like pure, unadulterated stock android to troubleshoot with.
Okay I'll try it and let you know.
So what all do I have to wipe to ensure perfect installation?

Even mounting via CWM doesn't work :'(
I'm kind of scared right now. I'm scared to even flash stock fearing it won't boot :/
no bro it's still not working. Flashed stock GB it's still not working the USB mount. So it looks like a hardware problem doesn't it? Sadly it was working this morning when I transferred Kangy's 3.1 Update.

[Q] Help: No software installed and can't boot

Hi guys
It has been a long time since my phone has been this bad.
So last night I go to charge my phone because I had ZERO battery. So I turned it on and then plugged it in. The phone booted fine but then I noticed that the screen was not shutting off. I even tried hitting the "Go to sleep" button from the pull down menu and nothing happened. I also realized the phone was not loading my calendar. When I went into the file manager it didn't show SDCARD 1 or 2.
I decided to clear the memory (dalvik + cache) = SAME PROBLEM
I did a factory restore = same problem
Finally I cleared the system = now i have no OPERATING SYSTEM ON THE PHONE
I went to the external sd card and tried to install the latest version of OMNI....IT SAYS IT CANT READ FROM THE SD CARD.
I also tried to copy the file from external sd to internal sd card and it says FAILED
I don't' know what to do...
I am using Team Win Recovery Project 2.6.3.0
I have the latest omni rom on my external sd card. I can see it but install fails.
Please help :crying:

Calm down dear. Same happened with me. I formatted /system and find that I don't have any operating system in my mobile.
Just pluggin your mobile in recovery mode to your PC. transfer the file-> Flash the ROM-> Gapps -> BINGO..
BTW, wrong area for creating a thread.
Don't worry. Do what D™ said.
Alternatively you can use "adb sideload" method. I used it once with Philz recovery. In sideload method, you won't need to copy the file in Sdcard. File existing on pc can be directly flashed. This would help if you still face problems copying file to Sdcard. Search it on google. You will find steps for it.
A bit more clear please...

Download Stock Indian ICS
Btw, adb sideload method is as follows.
0. Install adb for windows (assuming you have windows). (There shouldn't be any driver missing)
1. Enter into sideload mode in recovery
2. Open cmd in computer with the directory in which zip file is kept. (shift + right click -> open command prompt here would do)
3. Enter adb sideload xyz.zip
Thats it.
I've tried it with TWRP recovery in my friend's phone. It didnt work. But When I tried with Philz recovery, It worked well.
Anyway, if you are finding it complicated, flash stock ics.
Edit : Did you try "mount usb storage" in recovery? because it is required to do. else computer won't recognize your device.
success!
OK so I successfully flashed via ODIN....Can I directly flash omni now? I am assuming yes...Can I flash it through ODIN?
Also can you recommend any good versions of ICS? It is really quite a bit faster than omni...

Omni is best until now.
you can't flash omni via odin. Flash Philz or TWRP first and then flash omni.
Lv5 ZCLPD is best ICS Rom. But I would choose Omni over Lv5,
