Welcome.
Well, I have a question for you.
Recently I use one of the roms and decided to redo it slightly by adding or subtracting the appropriate applications, improving a few mistakes, etc.
Can I publish this ROM for all forum members, and if so, whether the new subject, or as a post? Of course, adding the original authors ROM.
Rather than asking everyone, try asking the one who originally developed the ROM. We don't care what happens, as long as he/she is OK with it

what rom is that?
maybe its ok to publish it, just give proper credits.

Ask evervolv then. Some devs really don't want people to publish modifed work, but most are pretty lenient

[Q] Is there anyone running a "custom built" version of CM7 that they could share?
Hi all...
I would like to try a CM7 ROM on my Infuse but I am in no way too technical to make my own from source so...
I am wondering if there is anyone here who has built a nice CM7 from source that could maybe share so I can give it a go???
I hope this is not too much to ask and I thank you in advance...

Thanks for the response but i don't see a d/l link to a specific ROM.
Perhaps I am blind but that is what I'm looking for... a working version that someone has created from source that I can flash via CWM...

If you look through the cm7 thread a few users have posted it. Just that others hate when they do so they discourage it on that thread because they don't want extra bug reports.

No its not that he does not want it posted on that thread, he does not want it posted at all until it is finished.
If you look at other rom threads there are tons of questions that should not have been there. What he is doing is like a semi private beta, it will help fix problems faster without having to answer simple questions. Things like who do I flash this, will it work with this kernel, and such.
Now I am not saying that its not on the web but you will have to find it and not ask for a link.
I dedicated a virtual machine to building CM7, so I can pull from the source rep and do a snapshot build pretty much anytime.
Problem is that we are not supposed to share it. LinuxBozo posted somewhere why this restriction, but I don't recall the link. Maybe someone could remind what the url to that post is.

People, if you want to share your own builds, I can't stop you. Hell, I don't even really care. I just ask if you do share, don't post them in the original thread, and make sure that whoever you are sharing with understands that this is currently not finished, has issues (especially with BT right now), and that unless they know what 'dmesg' and 'logcat' are, they will get absolutely no support from me and are on their own.

You guys have to understand from his point of view. Do u know how many questions or post saying things need to get fixed would pop up the whole reason around building your own from source is that if you can do that you should be able to put out questions and answer that help instead of simple or complex things that have being covered if you have the basic understanding and you can actually help with issues address them correctly ina Manet that helps fix it than its easier to get things sorted out before a release. So he doesn't want them in the original thread. I would suggest if you can find someone to share it since you have the approval now have them pm you not share it over the thread or any other thread and don't share it your self so it doesn't cause the other thread or any other to get cramped with questions that can or can't be answered. So if you get it keep it to yourself to help with that factor

ok, so given that it is better not to post links to home-brew builds on these forums, I figured to put mine here:
http://tools.1url.ws/cm7infuse.php
for who's craving to run CM7 on their infuse, and doesn't have the time/setup/etc. to build it on his own.
All the warnings, disclaimers, etc. stand of course. No support provided, no guarantee I'll build more in the future. As time allows every few days I plan to grab the latest sources and do a new build to post it there.
At this time I'm using the 10/12/2011 build, and aside from the known issues, works pretty well for me. But then again, you might end up having a totally different experience.

The CM's developers are an unbelievable organisation.CM is used by lots of people..A lot I mean. I'm not much into all that stuff but I think that the 7 version of CM is considered as an original android development.Do you think they would jeopardize that for some random email? I dont think so..Maybe it is a coincidence, maybe it is not.I'm almost sure that it aint a virus..but you could never know.If you have any doubts about them you can change your rom, but there's no way imo that they have stolen your account..Good luck.
Did you download CM7 from the official sites?
Wipe all and make a fresh install of the rom.
And change your gmail account password!
The rom was downloaded from the Bravo dev section and is the only CM7 rom available for the phone. It is not officially supported and therefore not on CM7's site

It won't be the issue. I don't think you should blame CM.

As said earlier, the official CMteam don't, and wouldn't backdoor their ROM. Other parties (those who make unofficial variants/other ROMs) don't have the reputation to protect. This is why, when I install a ROM from a not so renown team, I make a phony gmail account during the signup.
You could try an install the gapps bundle from CyanogenMod wiki (I can't post links as I'm new, but google "cyanogenmod gapps" and it's the first result)
I'm not blaming CM. I was just asking what might have caused this. I just found it strange that it happened within hours of installing the ROM. I have never had my email hacked.

So we all know that now we have jelly bean roms now, and that they will start exploding as the ICS roms did. With that said. I would formally invite anyone creating a JB rom or any other rom to send me a PM. Because I am interested in testing any and every rom being produced. Thanks!

Of course there is. Every Dev who has created a ICS will make a JB. Not sure this is worthy of a thread start. Next week things will start rolling in Kernels and Rom's. Just enjoy JB.
Nothing is coming until we have source. This thread only asks a question that even a little bit of logic would make unnecessary. I don't get why anyone would feel the need to ask it, I mean what's their reasoning? Is every kernel dev is sitting on their hands until someone asks if anyone's working on something?

The PVR userspace libs and kernel driver is mismatched.
So, I've requested the correct source on the Android Building groups, and will release a test version whenever they decide to push that...

Hi guys,
First I must begin by saying that I am not a developer. However, using this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008) thread, I have managed to "port" Android L to the One, though I have no clue if it even boots. There are a few problems that need to be discussed:
1) AOSP ROMs are around 400 mb? This one is 900+ mb.
2) When I was zipping the ROM, I saw Prism.apk was also in it, and a heck lot of other HTC related things.
3) Will the current kernel for KitKat work smoothly on L?
Anyway, this is my first step to being a potential developer and hope you all get excited for this. I do have one request though, if I can get a few devs to work with me on this, we can get to new heights on our One.
You can download the zip I created here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4JA1Kc3xlxiZUw2XzNzM1NKMVU/edit?usp=sharing

Did you miss the [Dev-Only] in the title? Every flash on your device could brick it if you aren't careful, nothing unique with this build. If you don't want to risk it, don't flash. Simple as that.

But as far as I remember, I did not do anything to it. The base ROM that I used was a stock deodexed Sense 6 ROM and the port ROM I used was the system dump from Android L, if that helps.

Im not a dev just a general user but I don't think we should be creating these types of threads if you don't know what you're doing. Let the real devs do their work if it was as easy as following a copy/pasting port guide every device would already have a l build. Just be patient and eventually a nice dev will maybe make some magic happen for us.

This ROM will not work, period. The reason is because you did not follow step 1 of the guide which states quite clearly:
"Take any clean CM9, AOSP, CM7, CM10, CM11 ROM which is running on your device as Base ROM."
Now, don't know about you but I do not think a stock deodexed Sense 6 ROM counts as any of those mentioned in step 1... that is why you are seeing HTC things in the ROM.

no man, you can not do this because we have not a base for L! so it should be ported compiling source and fixing bug and issues...is not a thing that you find in a guide

I think your best bet would be to download the Nexus 5 sources and then do some "patchwork" with HTC One libs and whatnot, when needed. The good thing is that they are both at the same resolution and have similar specs.
And after you're done with that, you should be able to build with a couple of adjustments to various build-related things.
EDIT: Also, there will probably be issues with kernels? so you'll have to work through that also.

You can't be patching and copy/pasting libs. No zip modding when it comes to porting big base changes
You'll need to decompile and redo your ramdisk etc. And like jonny said you can't be using sense and gpe parts

Android L Keyboard in Play Store
I just wanted to note that there's a third-party application "Android L Keyboard" by Shen Le in the Play Store which I've been using on the latest CM11 nightlies that works great.
I understand that's not the point of this project but I just wanted to make sure other users are aware. Also, it's kind of scary to have to trust that a keyboard from the Play Store isn't logging and reporting your keystrokes but that's another issue entirely... anyways I added a screenshot, good luck with the project!
