I hope it does happen, the phones are just too different. If they split up the US AT&T, Sprint, TMobile and the Int I9300 etc... then surely ours defo needs a seperate sub-forum!

Honestly All i basically asked for to the moderators about 1 week ago is a seperate Q&A thread aswell as this thread we already have. Only because when someone asks a question about this device it gets lost almost instantly... Maybe if we atleast start with a Q/A thread that will allow general questions and discussions about this device only. It will work and then when this device starts to become bigger and bigger then maybe we should get the whole new thread with, themes/apps/ Q/A, general, original development etc....
So for now the most important is a Q/a thread and the dev thread... But the Dev thread should be allowed to have apps & themes in it. and the q/a thread should be allowed to have general questions and info on the I9305
+1 for separate thread. It's not too bad sorting out I9305 vs I9305T, but too many differences vs I9300, as we've seen with the lost IMEI posts for example.

Excellent. Yes this would solve the major prob of having questions being on this thread and getting lost in the i9300 thread. Just use the exact same title as this thread showing the main spec differencies as this will stand out gt-i9305 (4g + 2gb ram) but instead of development have Q/A

I don't know who told u that u have to sort out between i9305 and i9305t . They are the same and all mods apps roms work the same way together

Development is never the appropriate place to post these kinds of things, even if that's the only forum there is for a device. I'm a veteran, friend, check the post count and my merciless trolling of Development spammers over in the Epic Touch section.

If it's the only forum for the device, it is. You'll just have to deal with your Development forum getting cluttered, because your posts don't belong in the I777 sections cluttering them.
Same deal as with the Touch Pro 2 Android Development forums being VERY lenient - We didn't want to clutter the base WinMo forums with Android crap.
Don't take it personally, its just that when the Skyrocket does get its own forum, we don't want the mods to have to spend days separating them from the i-777 forums.

I have a new international Samsung GT-N7100, and i wanna root it and put fine Rom in it.
How can i know that is a good Rom for me? What makes a Rom better than the others? Does Rooting legal or illegal?
Note: please send me a message with the comments and answers so that i can see it, because for my 1st time sure i will be lost .

Please use the report button to report your post to a mod .
Please only post ROM Development, Hacks, Mods, Fixes and Tutorials in the development section, all questions go in Q&A. This prevents the development section getting clogged up by irrelevant posts.
I imagine that this thread will become a "Best rom thread" .
I am gonna leave it for now open but if it turns out like this i'm gonna close it.

and this thread will keep people from asking "what rom are you using?" on other threads and i agree this might turn out into a "best rom thread". and that's not cool..
so let me lay some "play rules" and hope you guys follow so this thread doesn't get closed..
1. just post what rom you are using plain and simple
2. dont post what is your previous rom and why you switched to the one your currently using
3. be a responsible xda member (you know the rules so keep some biased thoughts to yourself)
4. enjoy..

A customROM will always be better than pure stock.. Its up to you to decide which one u want to use..

how can i get my boot.img is if my device is secure and locked? I got a system dump through adb but no img yet. Im able to see my dev folder with in it boot files in es explorer but i cant touch them theyre protected (read only) and when i try to point adb to pull from there its read only. Ive used google and about 9 different methods rooting with no success.

I would like to propose that there should be separate forums for the development of the I9500 & I9505, just like with my last phone the I9100 which was separated from the I9100G.
The reason I think this is that the Galaxy S4 is quite new and there are not many threads yet, but as a I9505 owner from Australia I still find it difficult to find threads relating to my specific varient.
What does everyone else think?
