Will t-mobile replace my phone with "relocked" status? - HTC One S

Hello All! This is my first post so I hope it is in the right forum. Anyway. I recently got the HOS from t-mobile in the US. I unlocked the boot loader and rooted so I could remove all the tmobile bloat. Well after a few weeks for some reason the camera stopped working. It just shows a black screen. So I tired everything. Got back to stock and it still will not work. Long story short I need to send my phone back to t-mobile. I am back to stock with no root or unlocked bootloader. But it still says "relocked" on the hboot screen. Will this be a problem? Any feedback helps. Thanks!

Simlock issue in bootloader after rooting

Hello all,
I was curious on what it was like to root my inspire 4G and so i went for it and everything went swimmingly, i achieved S-OFF and everything but then i realized i wanted to go back to stock for one reason or another (mainly because im squeamish) and so i flashed the phone with a stock ROM, but i accidently hit the SIMLOCK option in the bootloader and although it said that it was unsuccessful, when i turned on the phone i had no service, i took the SIM out and put it back in, no luck, i tried pressing SIMLOCK again in the bootloader, no luck, I am stuck now. i would also like to know how S-OFF is beneficial, and does it matter if it is off if I have a contract with AT&T. please help me get my sim card working again
Well, I did something similar to a friends phone before, he had a lock on his DON so every time he turned on his phone it would appear. And so after 10 unsuccessful tries at getting in the phone locked/burned put the SIM, he had to goto ATT and get a new one...

[Q] Warranty: How do I relock bootloader?

I have an HTC Sensation (no duh lol). I rooted it and custom rommed it, but I got a few scratches and want to use my warranty/insurance to get a replacement. I unrooted and went back to S-ON. The only problem is that my bootloader is still unlocked. How do I relock my bootloader? Is it necessary to relock it to use my "Premium Mobile Protection" to get a replacement? Thanks in advance.

In short:
How do I
1) Relock the bootloader
and
2) Remove the "RELOCKED" and make it say "LOCKED"
?
By no means am I savvy on this topic, but I'm looking into it myself, because I need to relock my bootloader.
Take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077019
I'm guessing you better have to RUU that came with the phone running BEFORE you try to relock it.
It's pretty unlikely that they'll look at your bootloader. As long as your S-On and have reflashed the original firmware you should be good to go. If you really want a refurbished phone that bad you could just throw yours n the trash and say it was stolen. You're going to have to pay the deductible either way.
I had to return my phone last weekend for a warranty exchange.
I followed this guide http://theunlockr.com/2011/10/03/how-to-unroot-the-htc-sensation-4g/, and it worked perfectly to get my phone back to how it came in the Box (Except the cracked screen)
I will try this on my phone before I want to sell it
Does it work?

Hey,
Can anyone confirm that the method posted by theunlockr actually reverts back the bootloader to ****LOCKED****?
Also, when I purchased the phone, it was running the stock Telstra GB Rom. With firmware version 1.17 I think. And at that point, the bootloader said nothing about it being locked or unlocked.
Thereby, I did the s-off, installed CWM recovery, permanently rooted and did SuperCID.
And then I flashed it with the stock EUR ICS ROM, which upgraded the firmware to 3.3something. and also locked the bootloader.
Is this normal?
I just want a way now through which I can flash ROMs and also lock the bootloader again (if I unlock it) if required for warranty purposes.
Thank you!
If you unlocked through htcdev unlock, you can only relock. You cant turn it to **LOCKED** again

[Q] Need to restore to stock in order to RMA

Hi all, any help would be much appreciated.
I'm from Canada and bought the HTC One S from Expansys a few days ago. It was compatible with my Rogers network, however, I JUST switched over to Bell and unfortunately, this version of the phone, while unlocked, is not compatible with Bell's network. As a result, Expansys has agreed to let me return the phone, however, during the short time that I was using it, I had rooted and installed a custom rom (WITHOUT backing up the stock; boneheaded move, I know). The phone seems to be the European version from France, so I was thinking of restoring to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543588 however, I remember reading an article on Rootzwiki about how our phones are marked once we unlock the bootloader. Is there a way to remedy this? I'm afraid Expansys will reject my return if they notice that I've "tampered" with it and would like to return it fully to stock, unrooted, completely original everything.
Again, if anyone can direct me how to proceed, I would be so grateful. I have two weeks to send my phone back.
Thanks guys!
Thanks
I would love to know the answer to this as well. Kinda in the same boat...My main concern is removing CWM..Anyone have any info on this?

Based on all my readings thus far, it seems removing the "tampered" message is not possible yet.
In order to remove CWM and revert back to stock, I recommend hasoon2000's All-In-One Toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
There is an option to flash the stock recovery.

You can just do the following:
Remove root - can be easily done via superSU app from the settings menu, where is mentiones full unroot
Flash stock recovery
Relock bootloader.
After that if you want, just find the correct RUU file for your phone it it will flash it. The word tempered will go away, but it will just say "relocked"
I don't think that expansys will access the bootloader to check....Most employees are not tech savvy...As long as they power the phone on, without problems....you should be fine.
you will always see the brand relocked. untill we have al full s-off it wil be like this always.
just flash the correct ruu it came with,
if the phone works normal they wont have a reason to look at the bootloader.

[Q] Seriously need help with unlocked ATT One X

Alright guys, I am posting out of desperation.
I am no pro when it comes to rooting/unlocking/ROMming Android phones but I have read myself to death and I am not getting anywhere. I am almost willing to send this phone to someone who knows what they are doing. I really don't feel like buying another phone. In hindsight, I should've made sure I was getting a true unbranded HOX.
I bought an unlocked, AT&T One X from Amazon while I was in Afghanistan. Received the phone via APO, put in my Roshan SIM card, and was working fine. I traveled extensively in the past few months, all over the Middle East and South Asia, phone was working fine, I just picked up a local sim card and off I went.
Well then I went back to the US for the first time with this phone. Put in my TMobile SIM, and was working fine as well. Well now I left the country again, and now I can't pick up any networks at all. I have changed the radio via the USSD to GSM, WCDMA, everything, but can't pick up any networks. Keep in mind I also still have my SIM card that I bought when I was here. I insert the card, it says preparing sim card, etc, but won't find any networks.
How do I know if the phone is still SIM unlocked? Woulnd't it prompt me for an unlock code when I insterted the foreign SIM again? Do I need to root? Does my bootloader need to be unlocked to use any SIM?
What I was figuring I would try to do was flash a different ROM so I don't have to worry about this being an AT&T phone anymore. When I boot into the bootloader, it says LOCKED at the top with S-ON. There has never been an update done to the phone since I got it.
Things i've tried:
Any root for 1.85 ( I have tried every root for 1.85 you can search for on here)
RUU to update to 2.2 (says main battery power low, but it isn't)
Factory Reset
I really don't care so much to get a new ROM, I just want my phone to work. Here is what I get in the info page on the phone:
The bootloader says HBOOT 1.09 is installed
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-01155-gca24d1e
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Build Number
1.85.502.3_R2 CL63811 release-keys
Sense 4.0
Android 4.0.3
Software Number
1.85.502.3 710RD
If you need any more info let me know but I am dying here
Sim unlock and bootloader unlock are two different things. I don't think either has anything to do with the other.
Assuming you bought this from a legit seller on Amazon, factory unlocked is factory unlocked. I've never heard of a phone getting sim locked from putting in a sim card. If you didn't get a "input unlock code" the first time, your phone isn't sim locked and is not locked down to AT&T.
Before you can root, though, you have to unlock the bootloader. That's why your root attempts keep failing. You want to stay on 1.85, trust me--later firmware is more locked down.
Are you sure there's nothing wrong with the other sim card you got? Have you tried a new one?

Really? The bootloader has to be unlocked before you can root? I definitely thought it was the other way around. I guess that would explain it, then..
What I actually ended up doing was repeatably trying the RUU, and finally got it to take the 2.2FW upgrade. As soon as that happened, I was pulling down 4G like nobodies business. Though, now that i've read your post, I kind of wish I would've stuck with trying to get a new ROM on it, instead of upgrading. I really have no idea why a FW upgrade made the radio start working like magic, or what would casue that at all.

Progress is swift. I rooted using the 2.2 xfactor exploit and then unlocked the bootloader with the spoofed CID, now as soon as I figure it out I will install CleanROM 5.1..Hope I don't brick it!

As long as you stay in this forum, these phones are tough to brick. The only way to do it is to flash roms for the international (Tegra 3) version.
Note that on 2.20., you have to flash the boot.img in fastboot when you flash a rom.
Youll never brick your phone as long as you have access to the bootloader or recovery lol

If he wants cleanrom he won't have to be confused with fastboot. Just download rom and flash that sucker

Do NOT RUU to 2.20! (never mind too late).
Looks like you figured things out.

[Q] How can I remove the locked bootloader on a Verizon GS3?

Recently, I messed up real bad and I accidentally installed the firmware of a Verizon GS3 on a T-Mobile GS3. Now it is a Verizon phone :c I already rooted it so I can replace the firmware with a T-Mobile TouchWiz Stock ROM. All I need is the last step: to unlock the bootloader. Can someone (or anyone) please help me remove it? I am currently mentally constipated by the problem and I just have only a couple steps until I return it back into a T-Mobile Galaxy S3. Now that's the question. Here's the story of how it is what it is right now.
So one day, I was rooting my phone to install CyanogenMod because I wanted something similar to 4.2.1 Jellybean. I did everything except I didn't delete the Dalvhik Cache. So when everything was loaded, I see that my phone cannot open the PlayStore. In my mind, I reflect back a couple minutes in the past just to remember I didn't clear what I needed to. Idiotic me goes off and attempts to erase CyanogenMod 10 and I get stuck in a boot loop. I am in a state in which I call "mental constipation". I then accidentally and foolishly install the Verizon GS3 ROM and BOOM. I am in a worse situation. Fast forward today, I root the phone but as a Verizon Galaxy S3. I am almost done but I need to just unlock the bootloader and I am set to return it back into a T-Mobile GS3. So, can someone please tell me how to unlock the Verizon GS3's bootloader?
tl;dr turned T-Mobile GS3 into a Verizon GS3 and I need to unlock boot loader
