Nexus 4 in, Atrix 2 out? - Motorola Atrix 2

All right, a simple poll.
Are you going to ditch the Atrix 2 for the Nexus 4?
Or perhaps you will have both?
Or you are happy with your Atrix 2 and are not getting the Nexus 4?
Or are you undecided?

Since its been less than a year that i bought this phone and I plan to keep it for another year, year and a half, i will stick with my beloved A2 Why would i get rid of such a nice phone even if m buying a new one !
Though my next phone is definitely gonna be a nexus

Definitely ditching for the nexus. Originally planned on getting the Note 2, but the price and lack of carrier and OEM BS is too good to pass up.

I'll be buying a Nexus 4 when it goes on sale.

Galaxy Note...Are you switching?

Just curious how many of us out there are going to move on to the galaxy note. I'm still in my 30 days with skyrocket and trying to make the decision to return it and go back to my old phone until the note comes out. I love the skyrocket but I switched to it for bigger display and LTE and the note accomplishes that even further. Soooo what do you all think?

Hmm... I'll make the decision once ICS comes out for our phone and compare.

O I C. Well I wont be jumping ship. I love my skyrocket. I think ill wait until close to Christmas. See what phones pop up around then. Looks like a killer cool device anyway.

Depends on Dev Support there!!!! And obviously my Bank account!!!!!!!!!
I'll be jumping ship. I wish i knew how much it'll be off contract. I want to sell my skyrocket and pay the difference out of pocket? What's a good price to sell a skyrocket ? I was thinking 350.... ????

If it has an S3, I'm staying far away from it.
The Adreno 220 is good, but terrible at higher res, look at the Rezound, it lags on anything.
The Note won't be any different...
The note didn't lag on me at all...and battery life was amazing ...I was on it for two hours straight
Its an amazing device....but I am waiting for the galaxy s3

Mr ed,
Were you on LTE when you tested it? How was the reception on LTE? I wonder if it is any thicker than the International version? I may sell my skyrocket and get the ATT version to go with my International GNote if the battery life and reception etc all review out well. I will wait a month or so after the launch to make sure I see all the reviews before moving forward.
Once you get used to the GNote, the skyrocket does not cut it for resolution and features.
Yeah after only two hours with it my skyrocket seems so wimpy

Ill be switching. Ive had something warm for the Note since its release but couldn't justify buying an unlocked unwarrentied phone (I party too much) My skyrocket has performed amazingly and it seems from the numbers the Note will too. I had an ATT sgs2 and then the skyrocket and I couldn't notice any difference in the processors. Ill have the ATT Note on launch day and Im sure Ill love it.
Hmm... according to red in another thread, AT&T is getting the GNexus.
I seriously hope that's true, so I'll wait a month or 2 (also gives the Note time to mature, and get some dev going, I don't like being an early adopter.)
Sorry if that came across that way...they are NOT getting it

Well then.... ****.
I can get the International GNexus, or AT&T GNote... this will be one tough choice.
I'd love to switch, but just got the combo Skyrocket + Galaxy Tab 8.9. I suppose I can't return just the Skyrocket now. The 30 day return window should be up by next week.
My only option should be selling the skyrocket on ebay. How much are they going for anyway?
Aww man the G Note, i am really wanting one but the screen size is giving me second thoughts. Maybe if i see one in person i would probably have a better decision. If not the G Note i may just hold out for the skyrocket HD with 4.65 screen it could be the perfect size for me.
Mmmm Note is very attractive but I'm going to wait the price get lower....can't wait

Any skyrocket devs going to the note? It would be nice to have some guys familiar with the hardware cooking for this monster. Im hoping that there just has to be some recompiling done to the skyrocket roms to accomadate the larger hd screen. I would guess the faux kernel would work since it says it works with pretty much all GB sammys. I almost which sammy sprung the release on us like they did with the skyrocket lol this wait is killing me

Upgrade or wait?

I am due for an upgrade soon from at&t. Is it worth it to get the nexus s or wait to see when the galaxy nexus will come to at&t?

Nexus S is old at this point. If you want then wait for the Galaxy Nexus but if you don't want to wait then get a Galaxy S II.

Also money is the other issue I forgot to mention. So even though it might be old is it worth it for free with the contract upgrade?

At this point, I would be hesitant to lock in to 2 more years with a Nexus S. It's a good phone but even for free, I don't think I would want it after another year or so.

buy a nexus s off contract if you really want one, I picked up mine for $100 off craigslist. Had the gs2 for a few weeks and didnt like it, just too big and the UI isnt bad but just prefer stock android. Still have my iphone 4 unlocked which Ill probably sell and wait for the next new toy.
Nexus s, think this is my third one now. Love the size and feel of the phone! ICS is very solid and a good over haul for android.
Buy a nexus straight out. They are cheap enough now. Keep it for a year then get the nexus 4 when it comes out.

Even better haggle the price / contract term down or get the galaxy s3. At least you can mock the s2 guys with it

Worth buying a nexus s on sprint?

hey guys my brother is looking to upgrade from an HTC hero on sprint. He's looking at the epic 4g and the nexus s. The nexus s is only $50 on amazonwireless, is it worth it over the $150 epic 4g? All the reviews I've read say its a good phone but has signal and reception issues, have those been fixed? This phone would not be rooted so it needs to work out of the box. Thanks in advance for any input.

only for 50$..Okay..take it..!
Or you could wait until the Galaxy Nexus comes to Sprint. I'm not a big fan of committing to a 2 year contract on a year old phone.
NS4G should be free w 2 yr contract on most sites. I would, however, wait until Galaxy Nexus comes out if I'm getting a 2 yr contract. Spoke to a Sprint rep few days ago and he stated that Galaxy Nexus should be out in June.

There's no way my bro would wait till June haha. His Hero is on its last legs and he's trying to spend as little as he can on a new phone. He would be getting an upgrade as an existing customer, I don't see anywhere that is free with 2 yr unless you're a new sprint customer.
Thanks for the input so far.
I've been fairly pleased with the NS4G, having come from the heroc. It will definitely feel like an upgrade. I would definitely recommend checking other sites though just to see if you can find it cheaper. I do think that the $50 is a fair price though.

I got my Nexus S4G for free at best buy that was in late September & just recent sprint was doing them free on 2 year look around make a few calls

I've had the Hero, Evo 4G and now this and I cannot recommend the nexus s 4g. The signal and reception issue are bad. I can hold my phones side by side and tell the difference.
Pick up one used on Craigslist if you can; I paid $120 for mine. Lots of ICS love for this phone. I also have an Evo and the screen on the NS4G is smaller but beautiful.
well my brother got the galaxy s II epic 4g at a good price locally, thanks for all the input guys
If he's not going to root and he wants his phone to eventually be updated to Android 4.0 then I'd say Nexus S. I highly doubt the Epic 4G is going to be updated. The NS4G hasn't been yet but it will be.

The nexus s is a really nice phone. I've had it for a few months and I will never move away from the nexus experience from now on.
But I would not get it on a 2 year contract as its already 14 months old. I would wait and get a galaxy nexus if you can afford it.
But if your low on funds and $50 is all you can spare I very much doubt you would be disappointed with it

Sold mine on Swappa. Got less than what I wanted, but it's all good. I definitely got my money's worth out of my Note 3. There just wasn't anything too remarkably different from the Note 2 and Note 3. I like trying different phones. I swap between this and my Moto X. I should be good now until I get the new X coming out later in the year, now. I am taking a break from Samsung products

I got the M8 off contract for $600 and sold my Note 3 for about $150 less than that. So for the 6 months I used the Note 3, i definitely got my money's worth (I bought the Note 3 on contract pricing).
Same here, I went gs3 to note 2 to sg4 to note 3 now to m8...couldn't be happier. I wanted to use the s pen more, just didn't find it was all that functional. Really love the idea of it, but I rarely took notes with it and other than that, really just kept it in the phone.
I'm thinking of making a mass thread called "what phone did you come from and how does it compare?". I just love conversations like this on xda XD

Yeah I came from the note 3 and I still have it until I decide which I like better. Part of me misses the size as it's hard to get used to smaller size. I'm having issues typing but I'm sure that will get easier. I will say this phone feels so much nicer in the hand. Anybody tried that light bright case yet?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I have the "light brite" case. It's actually really nice.I'm used to using the sview case but I like this case much better just for the different look it has. The flap is a little annoying but I figure it will get worn in and be a little better awhile

Still worth it?

Hi folks I am considering buying a nexus 5. Currently have a moto X and I'm happy with it. However I missed the stock Android and Nexus experience. They're all kinds of pros and cons with this phone as you all know. I guess after all this time, do you think the phone is still worth purchasing? Main reason being is the next Nexus is a matter of months away. What would you owners say? Thanks.

As Midnight_Rider Put It... In A Matter Of 6 Months... I Just Used My Jump Upgrade and Went From A HTC One M7 > Note 3 > iPhone 5s Gold (Worst Decision I Ever Made In The Handset Division... The IPad Is Cool But Not The Phone) and Now I Have The Nexus 5...
As Stated Before... Best Decision I Ever Made In The Mobile World In A While. I've Had the Nexus One & the Galaxy Nexus... Minus the Nexus S As I Wasn't On Sucky Sprint But Now That I Have the Nexus 5... I Can Clearly Admit That I'm Thrilled To Be Back To Pure Google, Unlocked, Unrestricted and On the Un-Carrier and the Nexus World.
