Flashed TWRP to make a backup of my stock rom, but now I can't get rid of it to get back into a stock recovery to apply a ota.zip - is there any way to remove the twrp recovery?
you need to flash the correct recovery.img with fastboot. One can be found in the Droid RAZR HD utility HERE. However, I don't know what version device you got or if there are any differences between recoveries from one version to another. so, be careful.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Go download the stock images and pull the recovery.img from them.

You can get stock recovery off the Motodev page.
http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
You need to sign up though, which doesn't take long at all.
Surely the image on Motodev is for v3 of android so it won't be the stock recovery from 4.0.4
I don't want to re-flash my entire Xoom again as recovering apps etc is a pain...

Hi, I have been having some trouble with my recovery not sticking, ay least this is what I believe is happening. I have tried this with TWRP and the unofficial clockworkmod. Every time I want to flash something or boot into recovery, I need to refresh it using ADB. It doesn't really pose a problem but more of an annoyance. Has anyone Elsie had this issue? And does anyone know how to fix it?

Try fastboot erase cache, then flash the recovery twice in fastboot then fastboot reboot recovery
Also, u could just download goomanager, it will install twrp 2.2.2 for you. Let us know if u got it figured out

Can I request also, with someone who has root on their Rogers/Fido JB image, to take a full XML backup using this tool?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tranquilice.toolbox&hl=en
I can mirror the XML, we have a few users who are looking for this... I would help but I'm not rooted (don't want to void my warranty yet! :-o )

I'm guessing there's no way without root?
Sent from my XT925
There is a way... If you can access /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem you can grab a copy by doing a "cat /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem > /modem.bak" or something. I'm no expert but that's how I did something like this before. Not sure if root is needed.

I can do the xml backup later from my room-mate's phone.
@shredrex
I am using the Aussie one on mine with the modem & FSG files from the Rogers/Fido ICS release with no issues, so you can do that in the meantime to get LTE at least
How do i do that, is there another thread to reference?

Ok awesome thanks.....so download and use fastboot to flash?
Sent from my XT925 using xda app-developers app
Yes, just make sure you have both the modem and the fsg file and you're set. The .bat file automates the fastboot commands, so whatever you are comfy with!

Since there is an international and US version out you guys/gals will be getting OTAs long before us ATT users. If you ever get a notification that you have an update available please let us know here and we will help you pull the OTA. Many reasons we need it. Mainly so when an RUU drops we can decompile it.
OTA is being pushed out to international users. Please let me know when you get the notification

If you are interested in flashing it you must be almost fully stock. As in not flashed the stock rooted odex. If you haven't flashed any roms or kernel then you can just open this zip then open firmware.zip and extract the recovery.img from the zip and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. then you will be able to run the ota

Does twrp ver 2.7.0.0 work on a 4.4.3 rom ?
Has anyone tried it?
is there any problem؟
plz
It doesn't work on any Rom. It's completely independent.
Please read sticky threads to get background information on Android, recovery, bootloaders etc. The one at the top of this forum

I flash via fastboot as well. I was trying to say that if he is concerned about compatibility is because he maybe uses goo im instead of fastboot method.
So, if he used fastboot instead of apps, he wouldn't have that confusion.
