ICS screencapture

I think no one has asked this. Does the ICS leak should have come with a screencapture.apk that will work like the gb roms where we just press power+home key?

Home+Power still works.
ICS default is Volume Down+Power.

Its not an apk. If you flashed ICS its default volume down + power. If it doesn't work I'd suggest factory reset of reflash.

Press power and hold it, then press volume down. Hold both for about a second

Tried that a few times... vol - and home... phone just goes to task manager or shuts off
Home and power work for me but you have to have it timed just right. Press one before the other and it won't be a screen capture. And make sure you hold it for a second or two (after you get the timing just right). It should copy the screen to the clipboard.
I've never had issues with screenshot you have to press them at exactly the same time

Vol down and pwr worked great on UCLD2 as well as home and pwr. In UCLE2, only home and pwr works. No biggie but timing is crutial. Vol down and pwr was more forgiving... to me at least.
Both methods are not working for me
4.0.4 UCLE2
Ever since I got ICS its been PWR + Vol Down for a couple seconds

Power + volume down works for me on any ICS ROM. The trick is to press the buttons at exactly the same time not one then the other, and hold them for a few seconds.

that I was having the same issue but it finally just worked for me as I was reading this thread.
Oddly, it seems once I got it the first time, it now works every time no problem.
Good luck!
Wow! Thanks!

I have an AT&T stock SGH-i727 Skyrocket, I just updated it to the official ICS 4.0.4 via KIES. I have tried every combination in this discussion to no avail... I have used Power+Home dozens of times previously on 2.3.6.
Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

[Q] Dedicated Camera Button

Hello i wanted to ask if i can force the power button to take pictures when i push it once instead of clicking on the screen.
i don't want to the power button to lose it's original behavior, i mean when i hold it for long enough it will still show the Shut down and REBOOT etc.. options.
i tried the one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916154, but i all i can find is MENU & BACK.
is there a way?
thank you.
Try using Razodroid rom.. It has got the feature u opt to have..

There is already a hack available for stock roms by wilfredcool007 in the dev section...
And most of the stock based custom roms already use his mod...
And all cm7 also have this option...
And it behaves as shutter key only in the camera app...nowhere else...

[Q] Cant remap keys on Jelly Bean 4.1.1

hello O1 people XD. i need help with something that i need to do with my phone 'cause power button is almost broken.
in every rom that i installed in my O1, i remapp the search key as power button. even in ICS i made this change without any problem but i don't know if JB is diferent.
when i try to remap the search key by editing qwerty.kl and/or thunder_keypad.kl, then it looks like it comes unaccesible. so when a restart the phone, all buttons losses their keymaps. i can not do almost anything. I try button remapper apk but it just recognizes power key and headsethook key only.
i made a logcat and there's a message that always repeat: "W/SocketClient( 98): write error (Broken pipe)"
so my question is: do anyone try successfully to remap keys on jellybean? what should i do?
thanks guys...
Check my sig, it works in every roms

Do you mean that your power button is actually working for powering on but doesn't work when phone is ON/Doesn't bring power Manu on holding?
Is this the problem with this specific ROM?
Did you clean install?
Wipe every thing and flash again.

[Q] Broken power button

My power button just stopped working for no reason. one day it started to act weird and work very weak and another day it stopped working totally. I seen a video of screen replacement where the person opened the phone and you could see motherboard. I was thinking maybe somehow the wiring got loose but when I looked at the video there was no wire going to power button, What could make it not work? how can I fix it? Thank you
Is there way to bootup phone without power button?
Yes, with latest wkpark bootloaders and with custom kernel. Remove battery and put it back. The phone will start automatically.
Then you can flash kernel from v28b leaked rom. You turn on the screen by pressing volume down button.

I could flash it also through recovery lol. But I really would like to keep it. For now Im booting up phone with os hacking tool through USB what means I can only do so only at home. For now I try battery to not die . Also cm10 has a volume rocker wake option which unfornately stops working when cpu goes to deepsleep so I always must plug headphones in and out so headphone jack is probably next thing Im going to break. Thanks for the tip I will try iodaks kernel .
