Cann't send Messages via Facebook - Microsoft Surface

Hallo,
if I start the Messages App I receive all messages. Also if I chat with a friend on my PC, my surface displays all Messages, but I cann't send messages with the surface. I really don't know why, because it works yesterday. Any ideas?
best regards,
neon

Slow internet? I'm able to send other messagea to friends. All I'm trying to figure out is how to install the Facebook chat thing on this darn arm tablet.

facebook chat won't install (if you're talking about the windows client) but you can use the messaging app to send and recieve facebook messages.
it was a little problematic during the RP and DP, but since being on RTM it's been fine

Well this is out of topic but Google just made a YouTube video but I haven't tried this on the surface yet since I'm not home. Go to www.getyourgoogleback.com and you can install chrome. Again I haven't tried this so I'm not sure.

if I send a mail with the iPhone comes a tone. Is that possible with an android?

Hi, if I send a mail with the iPhone comes a tone. Is that possible with an android?
Holy crap that font is GIANT. Was that necessary or just an iphone thing? Anyway, what? If you send an email on your iphone it makes noise? What?
it comes a sound!
When you send an email on the iPhone, and the send is complete/successful, you get a "whoosh" sound.
No it's not possible on the Android.
Why ist that not possible?

I find this kind of silly since I know I am sending an e-mail, why do I need a sound to tell me something I already know

It's not silly. The Mail.app on the Mac does the same thing.
What the sound does is tell you that the email has successfully left your outbox. Kind of handy to have an audible confirmation of that if you've switched out of the mail app and are doing something else.
Many times on my Androids I've had emails stuck in the outbox with no knowledge of it until I wondered why no reply and had to go to the outbox within the app.
I don't miss it on my droids, but I didn't mind it on my iPhones.
Some may not like the feature, some may love it, but I wouldn't call it silly.

yes, but it is not really necessary
if you are using PUSH email as most of us should probably be doing (i know i am) then as soon as you sent the email
you just need to check on your AllMail folder
if it's there, then it sent out properly
if it's not there, then it did not go out
yahoo mail, works very similar too, using the yahoo mail app
even apps like K9 have access to sync via SMTP
the only problematic email are people stuck on Hotmail and Exchange Servers, those are well... kind of on their own, until a better email app comes around to support microsoft stuff

I get the stuck outgoing emails and the ONLY email app I use is the stock version of gmail.apk, which only talks to google.
Background syncing on, data connection always enabled, etc.
I'm not arguing it's necessary, but like everything else, it would be a nice "option" to have.
Sometimes the only way to clear it is to go to settings and clear data.
I've had the same issue of emails getting stuck in both the gmail client and the email client.
It's irrelevant of the type of email account, as the emails appear to get stuck when there is a lapse of connectivity.

I had to uninstall the FaceBook app.

Calls weren't coming through because of it for some reason. Now they do. I only found one other post online about this problem and this was their solution.
Does anyone know why this happens?
It seems that Facebook and Samsung don't play very well together.... this problem AND the contacts not syncing.
Any ideas?
Are you having problems receiving calls while using the facebook app or just having facebook installed on your phone?
Also I'm not seeing the solution, can you re-post the link?
I don't think it's from Facebook
Haven't had a similar issue
Did you check your phone app? Are you auto rejecting calls?
I wasn't using the app when the calls were missed and the solution was uninstalling the Facebook app. I also didn't / don't have my phone set to reject calls.

Hangouts SMS on desktop?

So I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I'm asking anyway.
Now that Hangouts is the default app on our phones for SMS and MMS, I'm wondering about future potential for it. Specifically, I'd love to be able to use the hangouts app/extension on my desktop to send SMS messages from my phone. It's annoying to have to grab my phone to respond when I'm already at a PC. I'm working around that currently by using Mightytext, but it's annoying and buggy. If Hangouts is going to be the solution for messaging, I'd like to see that feature set integrated. Anyone know if this is possible or planned?
Additionally, is it possible (or planned) to have hangouts archive messages the same way it archives chats? This seems like the most useful purpose/benefit when it comes to using hangouts for text messaging.
Any thoughts or feedback?
I was chatting with a guy last night in the chat window in Gmail and it was syncing to hangouts on my phone?

Yes, chats on google sync to your phone perfectly. I was thinking about SMS messages syncing to my computer the other direction. If you've ever used mightytext, you know what I'm talking about. It seems to me like it should be integrated into hangouts on the PC/gmail/google+

kik is like a free version of whatsapp with the added bonus of being anon (depending on your choice of user name)
Doesn't Hangouts work on both WiFi and mobile internet?
Hangouts is similar to I Message... If their name doesn't have a SMS then you are in a hangout. However I do have a question about hangouts. How do you attach videos? When I touch the camera the only options are take photo and attach photo. I have a hang out between my self my sister and my mother and we can't figure out how to share videos. And I'm not talking about video conferencing.
