New app idea.

I constantly walk and text so hate having to look up to see if anything is coming. Is there an app out there that makes the sms screen transparent with the camera screen as the wallpaper? Or display a small camera image just above everything? Not sure if this is the right section for this so re-direct me if thats the case.Thankyou for your time and i look forward to any replies.

Probably possible, but who would take the time to implement it?

Already exists for the iphone, surprised it doesn't for android yet!

Actually it exists in the samsung own android store, check out the galaxy s section i think you can find the apk somewhere.

I think the app your looking for is called Road SMS can't find any apk though. If anyone has one please pm.

Tried it, not inbuilt into sms so have to type then import into messaging thus losing camera thus having to look up.

I tired couple but some how I can't install it..... I give it more shot when we have nandroid backup..... I don't wanna freeze my phone n reroot

Same, might be because we're 1.6 and not 2.1.

Facebook pics?

Whenever I upload pics from my NS to facebook they come up sideways. Is there a fix for this?

Yea I downloaded photoid, cropped the pic and saved it then uploaded it and was fine. Still would like a fix for this tho.

I too have the same problem.
It's an orientation problem against PC vs Nexus s.
When you take a pic using NS, the landscape/portrait is ok.
But when you view it on the PC(on this case Facebook), its different.
Maybe we should use the dedicated landscape or portrait function rather than on auto.

all SGS phones do it, custom ROM or not

Checkout the market to find a new app by sonyericsson. It allows you to take panorama pictures by sweeping the phone (like Sony camera's).
It is still in beta, but it looks promising.

I'm using SE generic world 2.1 on an AT&T X10A, and Panorama Beta works fine. It's pretty basic and doesn't really have too many settings. One nice thing about it is that you can stop a sweep instead of having to complete a full one. This lets you have a picture that is less wide, but more customized to how you want to frame the panorama. This app will definitely do in a pinch.
Just have good lighting (outdoors is best), don't do your sweeps too quickly, and be as steady as you can. One thing I noticed is that when the sun is above and ahead of you, the panoramas can have shadowed banding...so keep the sun behind you and things are much better. I hope the final version will fix this.
For better quality panoramic pictures, I'll stick with my Sony DSC-TX7 camera. But it's great to see Sony Ericsson still supporting the X10 with cool little apps!

BTW, I've tried this app and I just get green mangled photos with the latest CM10 nightly and DZO camera lib update. It's certainly fast...perhaps as fast as stock, but doesn't seem to work right with the current state of CM camera.

a installed the latest 29 nightly this morning it takes perfect photos on mine mate must be a can fix you have applied a haven't tried out like that but then again builds can end up different

I'm using the nightly from 8/15 and it takes GREAT pictures. I'm trying to decide if its better than the original software that came stock on the phone. I've been really happy with this camera and was hoping that CM wouldn't change it at all.
I have an example picture but I haven't posted enough yet to post up the link

Upload your MotoMaker Custom Wallpapers Here!

So I saw a few others besides myself asking about how to obtain the custom wallpapers featured on the MotoMaker website (or get your own custom one back if you reset the phone). As far as I know, the answer seems to be: you can't. So I thought why not kick things off and upload my MotoMaker wallpaper in case someone else wanted it. If enough other people do the same, we should be able to collect most if not all of them (I think there's only like 20 choices maybe). So to anyone else who has one of the MotoMaker wallpapers, if you could post yours here it would be much appreciated

I think what I ended up doing was just opening the photo with the Gallery app instead of the wallpaper chooser, and then I was able to put it on Dropbox. I'm sure there's probably an easier way
