I do not miss bloatware What about version of this android ? is it stable ? Any bug list ?
Thanks my friend
Flashed the firmware in the morning. It was fast and snappy. Nothing to say about the battery yet because it was just around 8 hours. However, it seems to last quite long as it just drop to 80% battery since 90% like 6 hours ago.(don't know yet. Need to test till next morning to say more about the battery life.) Well it was bloated with orange stuff. You can choose between orange or twlauncher UI after flashing. Changing of language is also easily done. Did benchmark on linpack and quadrant. Both still around the same score as in JPF. However, the phone does feel a little more snappier than in JPF. That's all i would say for now.
By the way, the above testing was made with rooting and lagfix V2 installed.
Regards.

I agree with you, until someone says otherwise. The positive is that it is branded, as 5801, and IMEI loss is less likely. More information about the performance is needed.

Hi Guys,
I have upgraded to BVJP9 since it was released. Here are my comments:
Pros:
1. BVJP9 feels faster than JPF but when music player is ON, it lags a little which i never felt in JPF
2. Battery is far better than JPF. Its 14 hours now and my phone has 50% battery.
Bluetooth ON since morning, data service running continuously, moderate calls, listened to music for 4-5 hours. I feel satisfied with battery performance
3. Consumes less memory than JPF. With all my applications installed JPF would use around 184MB ram but this seems restricted to 164 (20MB less)
4. no dropping of battery from 50 - 10 in a moment. battery goes down gradually 50-40-30 (saw all these)
Cons:
1. Users with vodafone connection in India with vodafone mobile connect service ON will face more call drops as compared to JPF
2. Lots of orange stuff, which is not required. If someone can help remove them, would be great
3. Orange boot animation which i personally dont like
4. layar removed
5. Installed applications size is not displayed, which makes me feel that this could be a beta version
6. I faced issue while upgrading from JPF. I had to downgrade to DDJG6, wipe data and upgrade. If anyone faces issue like cannot mount file during upgrading process, they can try to downgrade to DDJG6, wipe data, wipe cache and upgrade to this one
Note: I have not applied lagfix only superuser

samsung galaxy 3 problems after upgrading to 2.2

i upgraded my samsung galaxy 3 i5801 firmware to android 2.2 about a month back from samsung kies
here are the problems i encountered
the inbuilt launcher doesnt works-
it simply doesnt after a lot of pain i managed to get the launcher pro working
no matter how much i charge the battery usually after 1-2 hours of usage it shows a low battery warning and automatically shuts down but when i restart it the battery is back to either 100% or 50%
and my galaxy 3 is slower than ever
it takes 5-6 mins to load the gallery
god knows what happened to my cell phone it was working normaly with the stock 2.1 rom that came preloaded with the phone didnt expect it from samsung
is there anyone else over here who has faced similar problems
whats the best possible remedy??
is there a fully functional tried and tested custom 2.2/.3 firmware that is compatible with indian samsung galaxy 3 if so enlighten me
regards
ashish saluja
Flash ddjp6 is indian 2.2 latest upgrade or xxjpu is the europe version.calibrate your battery after flashing new rom with the help of battery calibrator.
Edit: plz.flash the rom with the help of odin multidownloader.if your battery is more than year old then you have to replace it,but before that try to full charge the battery when it is completely drain and then calibrate the battery.

[Q] Totally Newbie Please new some help

Hello guys,
I am reading about flashing, rooting, installing cROMS, and so many things in this forum. Frankly speaking i am totally confused!
Currently I am using Stock rom of samsung , I am on 2.3.6 Gingerbread
Code:
PDA:I9003DDKP2
Phone: I9003DDKP4
CSC: I9003ODDKPH
earlier My phone was on Froyo, when I upgraded using KIES to 2.3.6 my phone has became smoother, but I don't know what is issue with battery life.
In 1 hour time span on GPRS+Display ON+surfing it drains like 10% + battery.
I tried battery calibration. I have never factory reset phone yet. I used an app called battery calibrator from market.
I drained my whole battery and recharged it to 100% .. and so on.. but still I am facing same issue.
I have root my galaxy SL i9003 using DoomLord's tool kit.
Actually now I want to try some other cROMs , Firmwares. Wherever I am having a look at any cROM thread I find pre-requisite as some other base ROMs.
Now can anybody tell me how do I install any other cROM compatible with the above build. I am really newbie when it comes to flashing and all. So please can anyone of you help me and let me understand what I should do to install some other ROM, and I am downloading GalaxySL DDKP2 stock rom, so if any problem occurs how do I reflash with original stock rom?
Some guidance is really appreciated.
I am totally

Try crom poseidon and uc kernel. You have to follow this. Xxkpe-xxkpq-uc kernel-poseidon rom. Battery calibration is a myth. Most mods now are based on xxkpq so I advice you to have an xxkpq based crom.
I am having 2+ days of battery life with uc kernel and poseidon.
Thanks for reply
@earldroid thank you for reply. Another thing i want to ask if I want to go back to original Stock ROM then how do I do it?

Displayturns on by itself... help!

Hi mate,
I've two 9003, with original rom and custom cm rom.
Both, every xx min. turns on by itself the display.
Is there any setting to try to eliminate this annoying problem? Is also a battery drain...
Thanks
Hey ,
Please specify all the details of your phone. Which kernel ? Which custom rom ?
Ideally this problem shouldnt happen if you are on a stock or a custom rom ( other than cyanogen mod or MIUI {some users face this issue on these roms} ). There is a workaround for this in case you are on AOSP or MIUI. There is a App which kills the light at a set interval ( but again it consumes battery . so no point in using it ).
In case you are on stock and facing this issue then i think you should visit your service center .

ROM: DarkGenMod v.3.1.1
Thanks...
Im not sure what might be causing the problem. Just a guesss. Have a look at the darkgen rom thread. See if any other users have faced the issue. The problem may be because of any scripts that you might have installed on top of the rom. Hopefully flashing the firmware again might resolve the problem.

It maybe because of Applications which may want to gain some permissions or anything.
For the sake of trial, Just factory reset your phone once.
And, This will lead to erasing of all apps.
Even if bug prevails after the reset please revert back
Same problem here, screen turns on and do the same sound like when u plug the usb... For me the solution: re-flash and factory reset + wipe cache & dalvik cache, I don't now if its necessary but works to me.
