[Q] Help with Custom ROM

Hi,
I recently got a new Samsung vibrant T959 I unlocked it with help of XDA. After using, I found that battery life is very poor. So after some browsing, I found that custom ROM can increase battery life. And so i tried installing Azure custom ROM, after installing, my phone got stuck and didnt boot properly. So after so much hardwork I rebooted it back to stock using ODIn and T959 firmware. Let me also tell you I am a naive user. So i request the experienced ppl here to help me out.
My requirements is a good battery life and good graphics.
Please suggest the ROM and the steps that i can try out.
Modelnumber : SGH-T959.
Firmware: 2.1 Update1
Baseband version: T959UVJFD
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: Eclair

Try intall custom rom but b4 reboot do a fully whipe/factory rest. IF u still want your old spås and settings use titanium backupp. That works on x8

I am reading about flashing,rooting, installing cROMS, and so many things in this forum. Frankly speaking i am totally confused!
Currently I am using Stock rom of samsung , I am on 2.3.6 Gingerbread
Code:
PDA:I9003DDKP2
Phone: I9003DDKP4
CSC: I9003ODDKPH
earlier My phone was on Froyo, when I upgraded using KIES to 2.3.6 my phone has became smoother, but I don't know what is issue with battery life.
In 1 hour time span on GPRS+Display ON+surfing it drains like 10% + battery.
I tried battery calibration. I have never factory reset phone yet. I used an app called battery calibrator from market.
I drained my whole battery and recharged it to 100% .. and so on.. but still I am facing same issue.
I have root my galaxy SL i9003 using DoomLord's tool kit.
Actually now I want to try some other cROMs , Firmwares. Wherever I am having a look at any cROM thread I find pre-requisite as some other base ROMs.
Now can anybody tell me how do I install any other cROM compatible with the above build. I am really newbie when it comes to flashing and all. So please can anyone of you help me and let me understand what I should do to install some other ROM, and I am downloading GalaxySL DDKP2 stock rom, so if any problem occurs how do I reflash with original stock rom?

Try crom poseidon and uc kernel. You have to follow this. Xxkpe-xxkpq-uc kernel-poseidon rom. Battery calibration is a myth. Most mods now are based on xxkpq so I advice you to have an xxkpq based crom.
I am having 2+ days of battery life with uc kernel and poseidon.

yup..u can do dat using ODIN again...
10% is normal for an hour 2g data is a battery hogger...
root ur devise and use titanium backup pro to freeze all useless stuff... lyk i hv no bloatware at all not evn google maps as i use sygic.. and google maps hog battery cz they are running in d background..
i am on xxkpq..and i can easily get arnd 26-28hrs with pretty good usage..

I am facing exactly same issue where the phone becomes unresponsive and dead until i pull out the battery and reboot it.
Seems like a sleep of death issue.
Tried fixing permission & clearing caches..but same issue.
ROM was installed by flashing ROMWiper first & then installing this.
Recovery: TWRP
ROM: JellyShot 3.2
Kernel: Marmite 7.2
Model: I9020T (T-Mobile Edition)
Let me know how i can resolve this issue or gather some logs for the ROM developer or move this post to the actual thread

Already tried flashing/wiping couple of times, but after 2-3days...it begans to show SOD!
Stock Jelly Bean was stable and never exhibited this behavior...neither i am overclocking
Any other debugging or logs i can gather to investigate this further?

Finally...nailed the culprit! Autokiller Memory Optimizer was causing those SODs...
Uninstalled & since then the ROM is working like mint...awesome smooth!

Hi,
Guys i need to know if there are any roms available for Take KM-S220, i have rooted it and upgraded to 4.0.4....Main reason to change Rom is that i wanna change its korean language and some other default features... Please help...I have seen many threads about km-s220 but none of them got any response...please do it this time...

I ported CM10 on KM-S220, it was slower than I thought. I recommend u to use stock ICS rom.
Besides, only stock GB and ICS rom support SKT-MMS and KT-MMS, which means u can't use SMS and MMS freely unless u are on stock rom.
If u dun use SMS that much, I can introduce CM10 for KM-S220 I have.
P.S. DO NOT DO A WIPE ON STOCK RECOVERY. IT CAN BRICK UR PHONE. (/userdata and /system partition changes, according to A LOT OF KM-S220 users...)

KM - S220 Manager (installing CWM6) : Go to http://inclu.net:82/TAKE/KM-S220/S220Admin/ and Download TACHY0.2.6-121229.exe (the latest one)
Save CM10 and GAPPS 4.1.2 files in the phone.
Installing CWM6 :
Run TACHY0.2.6-121229.exe.
click these :
'다음 >' then '동의함' then '설치' and wait for it to be installed and click '마침'
On the desktop, You can see a new shortcut called '테이크 타키 관리자' It is Take Tachy Manager so run it.
(Connect your phone to the computer and make sure it is on USB Debugging Mode!)
Type 1 and enter.
When '작업이 완료되었습니다. 폰을 재시작하곘습니까? (Y/N) ' appears,
type y and enter.
When '완료되었습니다.' appears, press any key to go back to home menu.
(CWM6 Installed!!)
When your phone boots, press 5 and enter on Take Tachy Manager.
Press 3 and enter and your phone will boot into recovery mode.
(When the phone reboots into recovery mode, you can now close Take Tachy Manager.)
Wipe data and cache on CWM6. (Use Volume Up/Down to move and Power button to select.)
Install CM10 and then GAPPS.
Reboot your phone.
Done.

i need assistance of a person who will guide me about my phone current postion my phome is being turned off while updating to cm10 and now shows noting and just restarts again and again in fact more ever pressing vol down + power buttons will also do noting i am so worried what i have to do with my phone please some body tell me how i will solve my this problem and start phone again in recovery mode

i got firmware location for KM-S220. It is in bin format, but i dont know how to flash the file to mobile.

i just want to raise my concern, a phone crashed occurs (blue screen) in some other time.
what would be the cause? does anyone know how to fix the problem?
it also creates a crashdump file that occupies around 858 mb.

Everyone experiences them in 5.1.x roms. The problem is in system code. I myself returned to cm12 nightly because of these. Wait for Varun to fix it

This is Rom problem ... try install another Rom search in XDA about final roms .. or from CyanogenMod Daownloads ..
Search about Taoshan rom .. this problem will solve ^_^

Thank you, would it be possible to retain the custom kernel (thunderzap 4.14) everytime auto flash the updates of nightlies?. because the rom updates uses cyanogen recovery which my zip files are not working, so i have to go to bootloader and flash boot cwm recovery. is it a normal routine?
im currently using Philz Touch cwm recovery.

flash boot.img in TZ Kernel Zip file .. by flashtool >> Fastboot
this will installing tz cmw recovery for your mobile to installing zip files .. like roms .. etc

Anyone got it solve "blue screen" in phone?
I updated to many ROMS v 5.x v 6.x v 7.x and the issue continues....

not yet. The problem just happens when i setup the lock screen.
Try to install the new ROM 7.1
Now It's a little better but not stop to reboot every time.
