Hax Launcher is a new take on the conventional Android launcher.
The Android Launcher game is dull, only a few launchers out there really redefine the way the Android launcher works. We are one of those. Our goal is to provide something fresh, but familiar enough to fully utilize from the moment you pick it up. Hax Launcher is still early in development, and features are being added all the time. Let's highlight a few differences between Hax and other launchers out there.
Instead of having lots of information spread out across multiple screens, we try to provide you with a more focused layout, targeting whatever you want to access the moment you want to access it.

Hax Launcher uses a custom system of LivePanels. These are third party applications that provide a simple widget-like behavior in the launcher's Main Menu. This is a totally new open system that any developer can tap into. There are multiple examples on GitHub, and we provide instructions for developing on Hax's LivePanel API on thehax.org.
Instead of your choosing apps to place on the dock, Hax uses a more familiar approach of putting your recent apps along the bottom, similar to a taskbar on a PC. Also like a PC, open up the Main Menu by pressing the circular start button in the dock. And you still get your chosen apps in the Main Menu, now in a scrollable list of app panels. Just drop an app on the dock at the bottom of the homescreen. If you want to remove apps from the main menu, swipe them left or right, off the list.
You can kill any running apps in the dock by swiping the icon upward. (Root may be required for full functionality. See Advanced under Launcher Settings to enable.)
Push notifications are built in to facilitate instant updates (and maybe a chat channel in the future...).
Universal search is built in. Nevermind Google's crippled search (and thanks a heap for that, Apple). Search the web, contacts, and installed applications right from the Main Menu. (This is still a very early feature and will be expanded in the future.)
Check out SimpleWeatherPlugin, one of the currently available LivePanel plugins.

NOTE - The Pro version, ICS+, is now a key! You must install ICS Launcher to continue using it. This new system will prevent many errors from occurring, such as "Duplicate Provider Authority"
FINALLY! Here is the latest and greatest update! Not only is it rebuilt, it is redesigned and based off our not-so-far away launcher called Omega.
The latest build brings tons of new settings and advancements. It also received new scrollers so it should be buttery smooth now and not choppy like it was before. lol
Anyways, APK is available on syndicateapps.com and the Android Market.

Don't worry. honeycomb launcher is still being worked on. we are actually building a tablet version because many tablet manufacturers want it pre installed on there tabs since they can't get real honeycomb due to the devices not being up to standards. lol.

In the running apps: Sms says device not supported, email-gallery-music all force close, and system settings does nothing. When you have the app drawer open and go from portrait to landscape it closes the app drawer and vice versa.
Mytouch4g running latest Miui
It looks really unique!
The only think lacking is the electric blue theme. The icons are a little blurry too.
Force closes on launching from "Running Apps". I dislike the font though.
yes, the running apps panel is not done. it is taken out of HCL because I am not sure what the real running apps looks like for Ice cream sandwich. I know the buttons force close for many of you because the package names for all devices are not in there.
after school today I will make an update of it and repost the apk.
Looks good
The dock background seems kind of unfinished though, as do other things as well such as the multitask button. Just polish it a bit and it'll rock.
Also, change the icon, it looks horrible

You can try the win7 ones. They have circles around icons as well. Might work, although not all may like it.
Take your time It's good as it is.
I have a Samsung Infuse and previously had Froyo installed using DxPro desktop launcher. Back when I had that, I was able to long tap on an item and it would bring up a context menu, and one of those options was "Application Info". It would bring up the screen below: (continue past screenshot for question)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
NOW I installed Serenity 7 onto the phone, and am NOT using any form of desktop launcher, and when I long tap an item, it just goes into the "move/trash" mode and I don't get a context menu to bring up the "Force Stop" or "Uninstall" options. I REALLY liked these options because if I tried an app and I didn't like it, just uninstall it right there from the app rather than opening the market.
NOW... I use "Toggles Lite" and it brings up a menu of currently running processes in it. If I click the process, I THEN get the above screenshot menu, but I liked running it right from the app itself.
Two part Question:
1) Is this lacking functionality now due to no launcher, or the different ROM, or what?
2) Is there a way to get it back(may be answered in the first question), or perhaps install a 3rd party app that performs the same way?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Well first off, thank you, that is another way to get to it which may help.
However, I'm looking more specifically to be able to access it from that icon when I'm on the home screen via a long tap. I can access it through my "Toggles" program, but would ideally like to from the Home Screen immediately after I decide I don't like the app, rather than having to navigate through menus, then select the app from a list.
Pretty sure that's a launcher feature, ADW launcher has it and apparently the launcher you were using on froyo has it too. Just download one of those and set is as your default launcher.

Now forgive the possible newbie question, but can I install a launcher on top of S7?
I thought S7 is basically that.... or is S7 a replacement to Froyo and I can treat it as my "standard OS"?

This also may be something asked before, but is there a list of launchers(as I'm asking this, I'm about to Google it, but thought I'd ask anyway)
Serendipity 7 is the rom ( custom OS) you flashed on your phone, a launcher is an alternate home interface that you can run on top of your rom, that's exactly what you did on froyo. I don't know of a list but there aren't that many, the most popular launchers are ADW and GoLauncher, Zeam Launcher (both in the market), the customization for these is virtually endless lol give one of those a shot.
Hit the thanks button if I helped

So in terms of an equivalent to make sure I understand... (I know what a launcher is, but I guess I'm asking if Froyo is an equivalent to S7 in terms of an "OS" or ROM)
Froyo: Rom
DxPro: Launcher
S7: Rom
GoLauncher: Launcher
I actually downloaded GoLauncher a little while ago before you posted this, and there is so much to do lol

You got it bud! and yes it's extremely versatile.
TasKarou is a multitasking/task switcher with a touch of WebOs.
it overlays your home launcher, and make it easy, and fast to switch between apps through a WebOs like, or a grid based UI.
Launch TasKarou by clicking on the home button.
To access the home launcher, double click the home button from any apps, or single click the home button from TasKarou.
TO REMOVE THE ADDS, TasKarou Launcher Key is also available on the android market.
Features
Particularly useful for tablets, 'Quick controls' feature allows apps switching by swiping from the left or right edge of the screen.
Quick controls feature can be enabled without using TasKarou as a home launcher.

I had that feature in the prior versions. I decided to take it out because it was a bit inconsistent, since the android API post 2.2 (froyo) doesn't garentee the app you're trying to kill will be immediately terminated at your request.

Thanks for the feedback. My primary focus has been on feature completeness, and usability.
For the future updates, I plan to focus on polishing the app, both at the runtime/memory, and at the UI level.
Windows previews is a big one in my todo list. However it's pretty complex, and I'm still trying to get it to work. It's definitely possible though given the amount of screenshot apps in the android market.
Any hints/help regarding how to implement screenshot like functionality is definitely appreciated.

Introducing Devbro Appdrawer by me(Devbro)
What is it?
This is a appdrawer replacement. In the normal appdrawers that exists right now, you can only organize your apps in generic ways(alphabetically, more recently used,...) or in folders that make accessing your apps one step further to reach. No more worries. Devbro Appdrawer now fixes this problem. You can organize your apps in folders and swipe to access them. It can be easily replaced with all general appdrawers, just replace the shortcut in go launcher, ADW launcher and etc. Or you can create a shortcut to it for daily use.
What else can it do?
You can organize your folders in whatever customized order you like. It is also possible to uninstall or view each app's info just by long clicking on the icon.
What is the cost?
It is free. No catches of any kind.
What are the permissions for?
I am looking to see how my app will be used by other people. So There is a small code that send me a list of your folders and how you organized them. There is also a list of how you ran your programs.
All data that are being sent are generated from within the app. nothing else is sent. If you do not like the idea you can simply disable it from the settings menu. If you like to do this manually, there is also an option for it in the settings.
sdcard access is needed for backup and restore
Do you like my app?
If the answer is yes, then just use it and tell your friends about it. You can also give it 5stars in the market.
Do you have a suggestion/Did you find a bug?
Just post it here and I will look into it. Thanks in advance.
Do you want to help?
As per suggested, I need a new icon. If you have seen one that I can use post a link here please.
Which feature that you like to see next?
1. dark theme, theming options - done
2. customizable icons

Good idea! It works fine in my Galaxy s3 with mihome launcher. My feedback is this:
1) app icon should be more like a generic launcher icon. Current icon isn't representative of what most people are used to looking for an app drawer.
2) hide the title bar so it feels more like a native app drawer. Maybe even give the option of a transparent background.
3) default black theme looked ugly because the folder label had a white background. How about making the folder label background transparent and underlining the name instead?

Extended version of Trebuchet from CyanogenMod, one of the most popular home application on the Android market. Bazooka supports personalization by setting different themes to your launcher and also replaces your lock screen similar to MiHome launcher. Bazooka uses the features and stability of Trebuchet coupled with a bunch of interface tweaks to make it fast, easy to use and lightweight. You can download many themes to personalize your home screen look and feel.
Bazooka also modifies the look and feel of your lockScreen. You can also perform swipes on the lockscreen to directly jump to Contacts, Messaging, Camera etc.,
Features:
Uses Stock android look and feel coupled with themes.
Easy to use drag and drop shortcuts from your all apps into your workspace.
Replaces the default android Lock screen with different types of lockscreens depending on the theme applied.
Control Music player from the lock screen itself.
Large number of beautiful MIUI themes converted to support the new launcher resources.

Looks good
Looks good, supports all versions from 4.0 and upwards. Having more themes would make this even more awesome.
We will constantly add themes to the theme store. Our target is 3 themes per week.
Also depending on the occasion there will be themes like christmas theme which we are releasing today.

There's one in the first post :silly:
A good idea would be to maybe give us an option to not use the built in lock screen, and maybe some more customization options, otherwise, it looks great, and runs quite smooth
Sent from my SPH-D710
You can do it from menu->Bazooka settings.

Interesting but by me the launcher crash too often otherwise there is no enough options to change the settings ex: to remove Google search bar...
I'm under ics Rom...
You can turn off the google search bar from menu-> Bazooka settings -> Homescreen -> Turn Off search bar

Which device are you running on? Can you please share the scenario in which you encounter the crashes and if possible also help get some logs for the same?
Thanks!!
The picture in the first post shows modified dialer, status bar, messaging etc.
I suppose those are from miui? because yours is just a launcher + a lockscreen so it can't change other application colours, can it?
I want to preview the Theme before I installed the Theme on my phone
No Nexus 7 compatibility then?
No support for One X?
Nice.... Thanks for this!.. :highfive:
Unable to Launch app on Samsung S2 I9100G
I am unable to launch application as its not seen in menu options. I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100g.
Later I rebooted but it keeps on crashing when I select my launcher. I have sent crash report via application.
No nexus 7 support o.o why only support a few devices on the market when it works on way more...
going to try this out.
Great, I'll try this ASAP. A nice feature (if you have the time for it) would be to import settings/layout from stock/nova, etc.
