[App] Ice Cream Sandwich 2.4 Launcher - Android Apps and Games

EDITED 12/2/2011
NOTE - The Pro version, ICS+, is now a key! You must install ICS Launcher to continue using it. This new system will prevent many errors from occurring, such as "Duplicate Provider Authority"
FINALLY! Here is the latest and greatest update! Not only is it rebuilt, it is redesigned and based off our not-so-far away launcher called Omega.
The latest build brings tons of new settings and advancements. It also received new scrollers so it should be buttery smooth now and not choppy like it was before. lol
Anyways, APK is available on syndicateapps.com and the Android Market.
ICS Launcher V1.4.0.0 - Most stable and most featured packed version released
Market Link - https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.SyndicateApps.ICSv2&hl=en
I am not allowed to post a link to the paid or pro version because it is against forum rules. So, if you enjoy this launcher please consider donating or purchasing the paid version which includes many new features! :-D

Nice launcher.
When I click the circle app button on the launcher only some of the apps work. Like when I press the music Icon it f.c.'s. Is there a work around this???

Hey man instead of making new launchers you should make honeycomb launcher better!
But anyway nice work!

Don't worry. honeycomb launcher is still being worked on. we are actually building a tablet version because many tablet manufacturers want it pre installed on there tabs since they can't get real honeycomb due to the devices not being up to standards. lol.
update this week hopefully! if school doesn't keep me too busy :-/

1.13ghz.Droid Incredible 1...197mb free ram,270mb free app space

In the running apps: Sms says device not supported, email-gallery-music all force close, and system settings does nothing. When you have the app drawer open and go from portrait to landscape it closes the app drawer and vice versa.
Mytouch4g running latest Miui

It looks really unique!
The only think lacking is the electric blue theme. The icons are a little blurry too.
Force closes on launching from "Running Apps". I dislike the font though.

yes, the running apps panel is not done. it is taken out of HCL because I am not sure what the real running apps looks like for Ice cream sandwich. I know the buttons force close for many of you because the package names for all devices are not in there.
after school today I will make an update of it and repost the apk.

Looks good
The dock background seems kind of unfinished though, as do other things as well such as the multitask button. Just polish it a bit and it'll rock.
Also, change the icon, it looks horrible

I was pretty excited about this, but sadly I get a "launcher+ has stopped working"message on my g2x running AOKP 4.0.3. Any thoughts?
Great work! I haven't seen any launchers like this before, with a pull-up app drawer. My phone is a low-end model with 278 MM memory and ARM V6 processor so I prefer apps which don't require quite so much in system resources. From what I can see, Donut launcher uses about 10 MB less memory than Go Launcher Ex which can make a difference on my phone.
Although I had one FC soon after loading this launcher, I don't know if the issue was because of a widget or not. Since then I haven't had any problems.
I have some questions for the developer:
(1) are you going to keep going with this launcher, or was this a one-off effort?;
(2) if it's called Donut, why does my phone refer to it as "Launcher+"? Is this left over from the original project?;
(3) was the original project released under an open source licence? If so, will you be doing the same?

Donut is an old version of android its what the G1 had and the launcher here is a themed free launcher called launcher + with graphic changes to look like Donut launcher.
Not the developer but a simple question to answer
Sent via the valley of the shadows.....
Thanks to those who replied so quickly. I'm generally quite happy with a low-tech launcher so Donut looked interesting. It runs fine on my phone of course but I don't think it will be my main launcher.
I know you made this real quick but it badly needs updating with HDPI images to make using it worthwhile.

Wow sorry for not replying didn't know people used this.
No more work will be done on this as I'm on jelly bean and it doesn't work and would take a while to get it working.

I had that feature in the prior versions. I decided to take it out because it was a bit inconsistent, since the android API post 2.2 (froyo) doesn't garentee the app you're trying to kill will be immediately terminated at your request.

Thanks for the feedback. My primary focus has been on feature completeness, and usability.
For the future updates, I plan to focus on polishing the app, both at the runtime/memory, and at the UI level.
Windows previews is a big one in my todo list. However it's pretty complex, and I'm still trying to get it to work. It's definitely possible though given the amount of screenshot apps in the android market.
Any hints/help regarding how to implement screenshot like functionality is definitely appreciated.

impressive browser, better than ics stock
A really nice android browser that based on stock ics browser. Especially the sidebar is very impressive.
Is it only the stock browser with a different menu? Does it offer additional features? $2 for a sidebar menu doesn't seem like a good deal unless there's something I'm missing.

A question, how to use quick control, since the right side is used to show menu?
This is a good browser with great potentials. I personally love the sidebar function similar to firefox but this browser presently lacks customisation options like custom UA etc. The developer can take a look at Quick ICS browser and ICS+ browser for more inspiration

This is the old launcher that Sony Japan released for 1.6 and 2.1 long time ago. Now, i've modified it so that it works on both GB and ICS. I've also attached the live wallpaper that comes with the launcher and it works great as well.

Honestly, I didn't know it had to be moded to work on GB/ICS. I've searched the web a while ago and found version 1.0.0 (provided by you) and also 1.1.0, which has one or two extra options at 'Home Settings' (Image quality and Tails - for the animation.)
Here's a direct link, from some chinese site: http://count.liqucn.com/d.php?id=19...2/daolpu/moc.ncuqil.elif//:ptth&from_type=web
I was unable to attach the .apk, xda seems to be grumpy right now...

Anyway, speaking about porting: it would be awesome if someone could port that beautiful and unique lockscreen... :cyclops:

As for the widgets, i'm not sure if it is possible to use any widget from GB+.
weekender90, there are different versions of this launcher, as you said some of them don't need any mods in order to work, however some need to go through some changes . As for the lockscreen, yes, it would be awesome to have, but i belive that there would be too much file-rewriting and even then it may not work properly.
dontbelive, there aren't any widgets unfortunately, Sony Japan released the launcher only

Nice port and i like the lwp. But it seems that the lockscreen couldn't take over the slider default of stock roms and it always appears before the ambient lockscreen. So you get 2 lockscreens.
Another thing i noticed is that rebooting the phone will disable access to the drawer. Only happened though when i used the launcher as a default replacement.
But still it's visually good.
Ei dev, any chance that this couls become a home.apk replacement? And i can suggest, i think this will go perfectly if themed with your 4 corner mod. Just a suggestion. Grear work bro.
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
The lockscreen bug appears because the new lockscreen is a separate app that is been set to appear first when phone reboots or is being unlocked, so removing UXPlockscreen.apk from system apps may solve this problem.
For the second question i have no solutios as settings this launcher to default is something that i don't reccomend as it doesn't always loads its resources properly.
And finally, if you'rea talking about merging the two launchers it would be impossible as they have different API levels, it's a good idea though.
P.S. i'm still working on a 1.6 launcher if anyone interested

SF Launcher Is a Google Now Inspired Launcher For Your Android Device..
As you can see from the images, the higher section of the launcher presents your usual, quick-reference information such as time and date, as well as a graphic of a the San Francisco / London / generic Google Now skyline which changes depending on the time of day.
Underneath that, you get the widgets section, and adding / removing widget cards is a piece of cake. You simply tap on the "Add…" button, and by swiping across, you can also conveniently switch widget cards. A long press of a widget brings about the option for you to remove it, and while one cannot yet rearrange them, said functionality is, according to the developer, forthcoming.
The developer seems pretty keen to move onwards and upwards, but of course needs the help of users, so by downloading and submitting bug reports you can help turn SF launcher into one of the very best available on Android.

i like it a lot it looks great
Re: SF Launcher Alpha
So I tend to just bounce around xda alot. And I stumbled upon your app. Really awesome concept, just not quite ready for me to replace apex just yet. What are your future plans as far as features go, or is this pretty much what you plan on leaving it as? I really do Love the concept.
Few ideas I feel might help it kick off as a new launcher
Ability to set custom images as header, more header hotkey options(ie: long press to date to set new calendar event, long press clock to set new alarm) hide apps
Looking forward to seeing what you have in store. Nice work

mad slick looking launcher... only need a few options like: ability to hide icons from app drawer, themes support, and folder support... than I would definitely use this app!... Maybe as eye candy the ability to auto change the background picture depending on the weather and time
Very nice looking launcher. I'll give it a try.
nice launcher,, but I still don't understand why it shows dialog to restart the launcer when I pressed back button on my navigation menus...

He's not the developer, he is only making the community aware of the app's existence.
