[Q] Wifi backup help! (Not rooted) - HTC Sensation

Hello!
As you can tell I´m in a need of a wifi backup that not requests root access.
Would be happy to have a answer as soon as possible
I have a Htc sensation XE if that can help in any way

I am not sure about this (because I always use Titanium Backup), but the information about Wifi does not get automatically syncronized with google servers? (assuming you have selected it on Settings>Backup&reset>Back up my data).
If not, sorry, but I do not know

Hi it's called my backup. It's in the play store. I know it backups for non root users because I used to use it. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Thanks
I will test that, and if it don´t work I will write again

[Q] Advice on migrate from Desire to Desire S

Hi
I am migrating from a Desire to a Desire S and I'd like some advice.
Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to transfer bookmarks from one Android phone to another? I'd rather not install an app if possible so I'm hoping that I can browse to a file storage area.
Also is there an easy way to transfer the list of remembered wifi spots between Android phones? I'm not expecting that the passwords would be transferred just the list.
Lastly, is there a way to transfer my Locale settings?
Thanks in advance
Update 24th April: I've transferred my bookmarks and backed up my sms (at least the ones I wanted to keep) - simple enough but notes, recognised wifi spots, etc are still "trapped" on my original Desire.
Also i'm not interested in rooting my phone - so please don't suggest anything that requires a rooted phone. Cheers
No advice is I guess sometimes the best advice one person can give to another being

Backup your settings with Google and import it on your desire s. You will see what u get back otherwise search in the data partition

Thanks but I'm not sure what you mean by "back up your settings with Google..." I looked through my original Desire and despite that could not find the "backup" feature that is so frequently referenced.
If you can advise on how to access the data partition, I'd appreciate it.

I found a way to make hulu+ work on the sensation. My girlfriend has the mytouch 4g so i downloaded the app and logged into it on her phone. I used titanium backup to backup the app. Move the files over to the sensation memory card and temp root it so you can restore the titanium backup files of hulu +. Now you have hulu plus on your Sensation. it may just be the updated apk that's allowing it to work but hope this works for others!
Can you post the updated apk apps like app manger won't back it up with user data so it's safe please n thank you

sorry it didnt work for anyone. It worked for me but i made a titanium backup of the app on a mytouch 4g with my info already logged in, and then moved the TB file to my sensations sd card to restore it. I dont know why it worked that way but not through the apk

My wife has the myTouch 4G. I'll try it on hers and see if your method will work.
I did try and push the APK over but it wouldn't work, obviously.

Brilliant. That worked.
Took my wife's myTouch 4G; logged in with my account, THEN did the Titanium backup and restored the backup on my Sensation. I now have Hulu Plus on my Sensation.
I need to find someone with a rooted (whatever) so I can get Netflix now.

if you download the official netflix apk it should auto update and work on the sensation
so the only way at this point is
so at this point you need to have a rooted supported device, log in to your acct and back it up with TB and restore it to the sensation.
does anybody know of another way ?
also does the app work after a reboot and loss of Root ?
Would it be possible for someone to post the backup from Titanium and we could possibly restore from that?
Thanks!

you can just temp root it with z4root or any other app that does temp root. Use titanium backup to backup to the sd. After power cycling the mytouch 4g it will unroot

[Q] totaly noob in android

this is my first android phone, but before i had a windows mobile phone for years. I did a rom switch on that phone. But now i want to remove some stock app on the sensation (like facebook, twitter and other stupid stuf) with stock rom, I still didnt do anything with it.
Can anyone help me please, sorry for the hussle
thanks in advance
This thread should help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445169
First of all you need to root your phone even If you don't want to flash any custom rom. The reason is you want to remove some of the system applications. After rooting you can use titanium backup to remove these app. But make sure you have nandroid backup if anything goes wrong.

Good evening, good news i succesfully made my phone s-off and rooted it. (2hours) Now i got a question: i try to remove twitter and facebook. The application installer removed it from the phone because i saw the data going down, but i still have the icons in my programlist. Is there any way to remove them, without booting a hole new rom. As you can read im still a newbee here.
Btw titanium backup says im succesfully rooted. Yay, Hope someone knows a answer.
And Xda Congrats with the 50.000 achievement
Boys keep up the good work !

Congrats and welcome to XDA. I would never go back to anything other than an Android OS. It is so much more customizable than anything else out there. I would say read through the forums and see what you can do and what you can tweak. Also, if you get bored you can try flashing different ROMS and see what you like best.
I was already member of xda years before in the time of qtek 2020i. (guus they called it then xda or mda. But unfortunally i lost my account from then, so had to make a new one. Otherwise i was not a newbee . For now i still like the stock ROM of htc. (stable and all functions work. Unlike the bèta verions of ics)

[Q] Backup without Root

Hello,
I have searched through some of the threads and I wanted to see if I can get a clear answer if you can back up app data on the T-Mobile One S running stock. I have not rooted the device, but recently switched devices.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I've just opened a thread related to what I read about "adb backup" command. I'd be perfect, but I haven't been able to get it working yet.
I had read over that one but I wasn't sure if it would work. I will have to give it a try later and see how it goes.
I use clickfree automatic back-up
Works without root and can restore to any device. Try it.
