Its been officially announced, but still not released. The SDK is still showing 4.1 as the newest version, when I can download the 4.2 SDK then its been released.

Android 4.2 is still going to be called Jelly Bean. Key Lime Pie looks to be the name for Android 5.x, not any of the 4.x.x variants.

Looks like google wants to change the whole naming thing.....I think it will be better ....that way people won't freak out over having the latest android version...since they normally look at the name...
Sent from my Desire Z using xda premium
Another reason they might not want to change the name of the OS version so frequently is the limited number of alphabetical confection names (especially once they get to Q, X, or Y)

They're not changing anything to do with the name at all. Remember android 3.0? 3.1? 3.2? They were all honeycomb. What about 2.0 and 2.1? Both eclair. It's the same idea.

OK, so I'm starting to get impatient with this whole ics ota update getting suspended and have to wait for longer time thing and I'm thinking about manually updating my i9020a Nexus S phone...
But I got some question that I need answer before doing so:
I heard that there's a serious battery issue with ics, is it a huge problem or something minor and something that I won't notice?
If I don't like ics, can I downgrade to gingerbread without rooting?
Is there any risk of anything from losing data to bricking my phone when I try to update to ics manually?
Can you give me a link to the ics rom for i9020a for me?
Is updating manually just to get it early worth it?
Thanks a lot guys! And I'm kinda new to this XDA thing nor I'm a developers, so can you guys maybe give me a tip on how to use this site?

I don't think the i9020a has official ics yet, think it got halted before the rollout to your device but after the other devices

Im just curious if anyone knows if there will be a new radio update with the new jellybean release in a few weeks?
There already is one you can use in the development section You don't have to flash it to have Jelly Bean.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Judging by the screenshot of the port, it's still KI1. Which is the same as 4.0.4
Ports from the sdk or the gn would have nothing at all to do with a radio for the nexus s.
Radios will come in the form of official ota for the device as well as the factory images released by google.

I know of the new GNex radio but this is the Nexus S forums buddy :~|
Well I know that the devs will use the stock radios we have to port, was just wondering if they were coming out with new update. It would be nice cuz the ones ive tried in my area is little sketchy at times

I really hope so, as I'm avidly google searching every day to see if it has been announced for getting Kit Kat! There are 2 reasons I believe we should get 4.4;
1. Google owns Motorola now
2. The A2 meets the minimum required 512 RAM that is needed to run 4.4
All I can say is keep your fingers crossed and hope we don't get the galaxy nexus treatment.
Sent from the Ace's MB865 using xda-developers app
Highly unlikely. Google is not releasing kitkat for the Galaxy Nexus which is based on TI OMAP architecture, so the odds of the Atrix 2 ever seeing a stable build are very slim.
Plus hashcode is no longer supporting any OMAP based Moto phones https://plus.google.com/111109372727398356624/posts/MywYxxxzJaD
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Yep, that's true and as for the custom ROMs, altered mention he'd try to build SlimKat soon and the Razr guys just got CM 11 alpha.
Either way, we're extremely blessed to have such awesome devs keeping our OMAP devices up to date with the latest Android releases! Thank you all!

I think the first device, wich gets 4.4 is note 3. But maybe they are just rolling out 4.2.2, because UBMI3 is now stable enough for everyone? But if we really get an update, I heard that the kernel maybe will be 3.4 :good:
i hope so too ...
right now with all the 4.3 issues on S3, I think that if we are ever going to get an upgrade, it will be directly 4.4
There will be no such thing. 4.2.2. is the end of the road

i don't think so
the S2 was shipped with 2.3.6 and then they get 4.0.4 and after that jelly bean so why would we only get 1 upgrade
Because. In the past the s 2 was Samsung's flagship device and so they have to keep the customers stay.

Although it is a probability that 4.2.2 maybe the last update for the S2 Plus, its quite unreasonable for them to do that considering the device coming out only in the beginning of this year, Most Android devices would get support for around 18 months after their initial release.. almost 12 months have gone, so it probably will be 6 months or something that they could release an update. But its likely that they might not. Who knows?

samsung has to support every phone for 18 months ... it is true see this

..but maybe we are not geting 4.4 .. but i'm sure will get 4.3 update .. it is samsung guys ... the best in support .. i hope
i think will get 4.3 ..and we wont get 4.4 ... unless jb 5 ..released .. before 18 months expired ..
We will get most of the 4.4 goodies in all the ported roms, thanks to more devs for our phone.
I talked to samsung the said there will be 4.3 nd 4.4 for our lovely device

Maybe the stangest request in xda´s time
As I need an app only compatible with 4.3 and nothing newer to run on my rooted Nexus 5, I desperately need JB for my Nexus. Does this exist or do I need a tech friend (or someone in here to bake a rom for me. Is this even possible?
Kind regards
Some q&a
Q) Is it technically possible?
A) Pretty much anything is technically possible
Q) On a scale of 1-100, how difficult is it?
A) 99.9999
Q) Will anyone ever release JB for N5?
A) Nope
Q) Not even if I ask nicely?
A) Nope
Q) Why not? Why is it so difficult?
A) The N5 was not released with JB. There is no JB Source code compatible with the N5. There are no devices with the same hardware as the N5 on JB. All the drivers and kernel would need to be backported. This is an extremely difficult, if not impossible task. No one will do this.

LG G2 was released with JB (4.2.2), and that basically is the N5. Not saying that makes things a lot easier.

It doesn't because it doesn't have the same hardware. A few similarities, but not really.

The apps name is CSC Scandihealth HH3 version 8.8.11.7 (works only with Jellybean at this moment)
Looks like something to do with health insurance. Can you just use the mobile site? Or does the app do something special?

Sounds like you need to get on the app developers ass to update his useless JB only drivel
Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried sideloading the app? The reason I ask is because while it may not officially support KK, you may still be able to sideload it. T-Mobile VV for example didn't officially support KK until a few weeks ago (and consequently couldn't be installed through GP), but many people, myself included were still able to sideload it and it worked just fine. If you can't sideload it you'd have better luck pressing the app creator to update his app. No developer is ever going to port an outdated version of Android.
