Microsoft finally released their smartglass app, unfortunately it says it is incompatible with my device. Wonder if being on aosp is throwing it off or if it is really just incompatible. Anyone have ideas?

Installed fine for me, you can figure out why with adb, do you know how to use it?
I'm on NuSense and it works fine for me. It's kinda cool actually. Can't wait for the integration more with games and movies.
I have a PS3 but i gotta admit that app looks nice
I see that MS is saying it's for 4.X and above only.
Works fine on my Thunderbolt running LiquidSmooth ICS.
That was my mistake. Didn't notice it was for android 4.0+ until after I posted. Flashed back to twisteds ics build and all is good. Definitely a very slick app.

Good news: FINALLY!
Bad news: It's for 2.1 and above only
no really bad, we're lucky they didnt decide on 2.2 only, right?
Haha I suppose that's true. Even then it might not have worked, apparently galaxy s owners are having problems.
Also, am intrigued that fring have issued a counter to this with fringout.

Skype has been tested on HTC and Motorola devices with Android OS 2.1 and above. It may work on other Android phones, but we can’t guarantee full functionality or compatibility.
Has anyone tried installing the skype 2.1 apk on 1.6? i would give it a go if I could find it.
I would say Android 2.1 is a major OS platform and any other upgrade like 2.2 will be tapping onto 2.1 platform unless version 3.1 etc.

Here is a link someone else posted for the galaxy s users, not sure if it'll work for any of us though.

Tried it, it Just comes up with the message "Skype could not be installed on this phone"
I guess that will be the case trying to install any 2.1apk on 1.6.

Think it's actually a 2.2 apk, skype seems to work on galaxy s phones with 2.2 but not with 2.1.
I have it working on my Droid x its awesome. But some apps that came with it don't work. Other than that the 3d ui looks great. Runs great. Is anyone else using this app? If so what do you think of it?
This has been labeled as warez in xda since it's a leaked beta. But I suppose people can talk about it as long they don't share the apk file..
I've played with it for a while but because I can't choose the default phone and browser app, I stopped playing with it. Also eats lots of ram.

I didn't know that but I can't post links anyways. I can't wait for it to be out of beta. I might buy it.

Did you get the gallery app, weather page that comes with it to work?
Yeah i like the look of SPB more than Honeycomb. I hope its doesn't get bought by RIM like they did to TAT.
Its faster than ADW EX for me.
Anyone get it to work with the evo?

I really doubt that's going to happen. SPB is a big company from what I understand (google them).
---
Anyways, I did try it out, but had to remove it since I kept getting unending "Activating..." and reloading.
But my impressions while I did use it were:
3D look very cool. But not especially useful.
Instant tap and click widgets very useful and great idea.
Lack of app drawer is undesirable.
It has some cool stuff, but isn't anything "groundbreaking" imo. SPB charged consumers about $30 for this on WM and Symbian I believe, doing the same on Android would be quite insane (considering it doesn't add any huge benefits like it did for those OS). I'm curious to see what they plan to charge, and it's something I could consider using as my default launcher... but nothing truly fantastic about it imo.
I used SPB at great lengths with my Windows phones. It was a resource hog, but it still ran smooth and looked awesome.
Didn't know they were actually working on Android...cool
Yep says its not compatible with my device.
works with the epic unfortunately.....

Does it say spb loading overtop of that?
It takes forever to load on my Samsung I9000, but works well once it does. Amazingly smooth and the widgets look great. Could take some getting used to though!

If you look on the right column it says "REQUIRES ANDROID:
3.0 and up" I too was excited to try this. I believe it's for showing off the new Honeycomb renderscript.
I'm sure some one will eventually make it work on 2.3.3
unless we all get an early release of 3.0
I think this is a bit of a show-off app for tablets really. I'm sure we'll have it when CM8 comes along
It was taken down......what was it?

No, It needs the Honeycomb framework and possible Tegra2.
Though not specifically listed for us, CM7 for harmony was released along with the other builds today. It looks and runs great so far, and the Tablet tweaks work really well, I like having the buttons in the bottom left personally. I haven't had alot of time with it, but I have yet to spot anything out of place and it runs great so far.

There are a few bugs in the keyboard as numbers do not show up properly. Everyone should thank Bekit as he's really pushed CM7 for the G-Tab and spent a ton of time hacking away at code.
::edit::
Nevermind, their Wiki site is just screwed up showing out of date links. http://mirror.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.0-Harmony-signed.zip

Do you know if it supports location-by-WiFi?
I'm getting ready to give it a try.
Thanks.
I was running this since beta and rc and its more bug free than ever. The stock keyboard does suck on a tablet. The best one is SwiftKey for tablets. Go to their website and sign up for vip and you can dl the beta.
Now that we are running cm, can we start using rom manager and whatever version of cwm it installs or is that still a problem for g tabs?
MC
Been running this for about a week now (clearly not the stable as it was JUST released) and have been really happy with it.
Side note I do hate the keyboard as it is just a little small (for me but i have big hands).
I do hope this version fixes the DSP Manager FC issue. I was going to install the nightly yesterday which had the fix but never did get around to it.
I'm assuming this is entirely different from this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002000 ?
It isn't decoding videos well, but other than that, it's running sweet

Well, it's exactly the same thing... the mod murdock was working on has been merged into the mainstream CM... to quote murdock
Code:
Mod has been merged to CM7
The first part of tablet tweaks has been merged.
It will be in each official cm7 nightly build now starting with nightly 37 onwards... even phone users will have parts of the tweaks in their options

I am under the impression that this release is specifically targeted for the G-Tablet. If you notice when the little android screen comes up it says click here to set up your G-Tablet.

Right now, it most probably is. Let Harmony devices get rooted before the Harmony Release gets traction and "neutralization"
Very sweet...
Overall feels very responsive and smooth (though that could be from the data/system/cache wipe before installing).
WiFi location works very well.
Tablet Tweaks is a nice addition as well as the standard CyanogenMod Settings.
Notification swipe for the Power Widget is nice.
Haven't looked at the themes or profiles yet.
how long do ya think it will take to have the nvidia files merged into gingerbread roms? cuz the poor playback is a definate deal breaker for me but i would love to run cm7
Recovery?
Has anyone else had any issues in getting into CWM after installing this?!? I cannot at all get to recovery. It just boots straight into CM7.
Has anyone seen the Grid10 tablet? it looks pretty good. Check it out here
I don't foresee any tablet having a specific advantage over my phone/PC combo any time soon, so I can't say I'm interested in purchasing one, but I really am impressed by the Grid10. I hope it does well, it looks sweet.
Looks sweet
I read about it before, I really would like to get a hands on with it and check out the user interface, it seems like a whole new idea. It is a very intuitive idea, but like a lot of things, we will see if it actually turns out as cool as they intended
The fact that the OS is based on android is pretty cool. I'd like to see what devs could do with it
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
only based on the android kernel though right, I think the UI is all it's own
true but it still looks like devs could do some great stuff
Got the "Fusion Garage" Grid10 10/13/2011
After update it became very fast and responcive, side loaded "google maps, Samurai 2, and Netflix", so far "Netflix (tried 7 diffrent APK's) is the only APK the does not work well, it kinda works but the video does not load, also I could not get the the "Android Market" to work tries 2 different APK's. I am thinking I will have to spoof the device ID, using the Astro. They still have a Gmail bug, should be fixed soon, just a token issue.
So that's my 411
I cant decide between the Xoom or this. Im leaning xoom
