I have it working on my Droid x its awesome. But some apps that came with it don't work. Other than that the 3d ui looks great. Runs great. Is anyone else using this app? If so what do you think of it?
This has been labeled as warez in xda since it's a leaked beta. But I suppose people can talk about it as long they don't share the apk file..
I've played with it for a while but because I can't choose the default phone and browser app, I stopped playing with it. Also eats lots of ram.

I didn't know that but I can't post links anyways. I can't wait for it to be out of beta. I might buy it.

Did you get the gallery app, weather page that comes with it to work?
Yeah i like the look of SPB more than Honeycomb. I hope its doesn't get bought by RIM like they did to TAT.
Its faster than ADW EX for me.

I really doubt that's going to happen. SPB is a big company from what I understand (google them).
---
Anyways, I did try it out, but had to remove it since I kept getting unending "Activating..." and reloading.
But my impressions while I did use it were:
3D look very cool. But not especially useful.
Instant tap and click widgets very useful and great idea.
Lack of app drawer is undesirable.
It has some cool stuff, but isn't anything "groundbreaking" imo. SPB charged consumers about $30 for this on WM and Symbian I believe, doing the same on Android would be quite insane (considering it doesn't add any huge benefits like it did for those OS). I'm curious to see what they plan to charge, and it's something I could consider using as my default launcher... but nothing truly fantastic about it imo.
I used SPB at great lengths with my Windows phones. It was a resource hog, but it still ran smooth and looked awesome.
Didn't know they were actually working on Android...cool
Yep says its not compatible with my device.
works with the epic unfortunately.....

It takes forever to load on my Samsung I9000, but works well once it does. Amazingly smooth and the widgets look great. Could take some getting used to though!

PTL, my brother or sister. Maybe someone will take a look at that launcher and report in.
I used it for a little. Its still in its alpha phase, but it is great! Sure, you cannot remove any icons that are added, but the beginning transitions that are there are very cool. I recommend it to anyone that likes the curreny iphone looks.

A friend of mine has an iPhone and I have to admit, it's pretty slick. I think I'll stick with my 8125 for the time being though. Mainly because of price, but also because I like being able to change roms on my phone whenever I want.
Personally, I like the iphone look. Have you tried slide2unlock, icontacts, and the iphone dialer?

Yeah, I used my friends iPhone for about an hour...it was pretty awesome. I like what some chefs have done with touchflo, but it seems a little buggy on my 8125, but have seen it run really well on others.
Yeah, I like touchflo too. I've been using the NBD touch ROMS. They seem to run faster than installing each touch component from cabs

I was using NBD 8.0 but had a problem with some "numbers" so I switched to the official Cingular ROM in preparation for something else. It seems a good time to test this launcher, so I'm downloading now and will test it out tomorrow.
Yeah, I'm on a different ROM now too. Good luck with that launcher and let us know how it is.

I've the iPhone dialer and slide2unlock myself... I like both of them.. they are very nice.
but, now I just use the iphone dialer... slide2unlock use too much RAM.. I mean it releases it but just locking it with device lock works for me.
The iphone dialer is great.. for some reason I feel like my number dialing is faster than anything I've used.
Icontact.. i think I tried it for like a min..but can't remember.. but if you want to try.. try Contact manager.. it's like icontact but it's little diff flavor to it.
I like it but.. I don't use it because it doesn't have search feature.. like the normal contact.. I got over 200 contacts and for me to just starting to type few letter at top really helps me find the contact I need.

First, this would be better in the apps forum. It is a cross device app so it fits better there. Regardless, check out ShapeWriter on the Android Market. It does the same thing and IMO it is amazing! Seriously thinking about buying it (which I never do). Takes some getting used to but they have a 30 day free trial. Definitely recommend.

I dont think so but I'm not sure. My biggest complaint with it is the fact that it has the comma button so close to space and so big. I always hit too many commas. But I would recommend we all support this developer as this app is awesome. I have nothing to gain but I think that's what Android needs. More devs like this making kick ass apps.

agreed, well except for the comma issue, I haven't hit it very many times yet.
but yeah, we need to get this dev to build us more stuff.
I'm running the trial for now, I'll prob purchase it after the holidays.
(not too much money, just extremely busy)
I bought it flat out, and completely happy, no regret. And I will say that when I want to hit period, I hit question mark, when I want to hit question mark, I hit 123 and switch layouts, ugh...otherwise...
Also, if you have problems with a word not picking up, it probably doesn't know it, type it out manually, hit add, then it finds it just fine, was my only major complaint, but SO simple to remedy. Really love this.

I havent really noticed. I have been running it for a few weeks and it seems fine for me. I run my Gutted rom with Apps2SD and I have Advanced Task Manager set to close apps every hour so I keep a good amount of free memory around anyway. As you might have heard, TweetDeck has released its Twitter app for Android after what seems to be ages of development, at least for me, as I’ve been dying for this. Twidroyd has long been, at least in functionality, best Twitter app for Android, but TweetDeck hopes to change that by bringing the best Twitter app for PC to Android. Interestingly, its not a direct port of their iPhone app, rather, its been built from the ground to up to showcase the changes that TweetDeck hopes to roll out across its other platforms. I’ve gotta say, its looking great, but not quite there yet. Check out the video for a demo of the great functionality as well as the missing functionality. All in all, though, great job TweetDeck.

To all of you that complains about Tweetdeck for Android. It's still beta and not the finished application. I can assure you there is frantic activity over at Tweetdeck support, and I don't doubt that this will be a killer app
I think it kinda sucks at least right now, all the other Twitter apps I've tried are better and actually have features. And it won't stop sending Twitter notifications which I don't want as it's constant and annoying. Oh and it's ugly..haha. I'm sure it will get better though. I like Twicca myself.

Thanks to whoever told me how to turn off notifications. I wasn't getting them then randomly this morning they started coming in. I just use Pure Messenger to read FB/tweets in one column and open Twicca/Facebook from Pure Messenger to post something. I like it because it's a widget. Is Tweetdeck going to put out a widget? I didn't notice one looking through my widgets.

Here you go, straight from jaybobs vanilla build.
2D gallery and camera hacked to open 2d gallery instead of 3d.
If you want to use this you'll have to do:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
adb pull /system/app/camera.apk*
adb pull /system/app/gallery3d.apk*
then
adb push camera.apk /system/app/camera.apk*
adb push gallery.apk /system/app/gallery.apk*
then
adb reboot recovery
The * = corresponding file names, I may be slightly incorrect. Im downloading the files now and will upload shortly.
Also to mention, you could simply delete the stock camera and gallery with a file explorer that has root (ala root explorer) but you NEED to push the new files over. Wouldnt hurt to do a fix apk uid mismatches afterwards either, which is why I added the code to reboot to recovery.
Edit: If adb is foreign to you just pm me
Edit Edit: Not that it matters now, but I used the pull command in the code above instead of remove.

to be honest i dont think its because the coding is still new, i think its because the gallery 3d looks like the first thing google didnt simply throw together to make an interface. Since they put time into it, it looks nice and is very usable contrast this with the music player for example and it seems obvious why everyone and their uncle has an alternate one, it simply looks cheap while functional it isnt very classy looking
thats just my .02 cents on it anyway

You can try JustPictures! from the market - free. It's not great, but alright.
I use "Large Image Viewer (AppBrain Link)" sometimes as an alternative.
Otherwise I just stick with 3D Gallery seeing as it doesn't give me too many problems.
Even though I have easily over 30 directories (including sub directories that load on the main screen) each with 10+ images, some with over 100. All different sizes ranging from theme/icons for ninja/metamorph to full blown wallpapers @ 1920x1200pix

Love this POWERFUL app. But love to have the following changes in the upcoming version.
1. Memorize the settings selection in Extra. E.g. "from" and "to" language for Google Translate, Currency converter.
2. Sorted list for Currency. (e.g. ANG > BHD > VEF ...etc). It's quite hard to find the currency I am looking for the current implementation.
Just downloaded it, very nice app, seems to have LOADS of functionality.
