Has anyone seen the Grid10 tablet? it looks pretty good. Check it out here
I don't foresee any tablet having a specific advantage over my phone/PC combo any time soon, so I can't say I'm interested in purchasing one, but I really am impressed by the Grid10. I hope it does well, it looks sweet.
Looks sweet
I read about it before, I really would like to get a hands on with it and check out the user interface, it seems like a whole new idea. It is a very intuitive idea, but like a lot of things, we will see if it actually turns out as cool as they intended
The fact that the OS is based on android is pretty cool. I'd like to see what devs could do with it
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
only based on the android kernel though right, I think the UI is all it's own
true but it still looks like devs could do some great stuff
Got the "Fusion Garage" Grid10 10/13/2011
After update it became very fast and responcive, side loaded "google maps, Samurai 2, and Netflix", so far "Netflix (tried 7 diffrent APK's) is the only APK the does not work well, it kinda works but the video does not load, also I could not get the the "Android Market" to work tries 2 different APK's. I am thinking I will have to spoof the device ID, using the Astro. They still have a Gmail bug, should be fixed soon, just a token issue.
So that's my 411
I cant decide between the Xoom or this. Im leaning xoom

I see all issues and little praise. Is there any happy stories to tell?
Edit: It would seem a lot of people with success did a similar set up.
Don't skip the initial set up. ....
Reset the phone at least once after you've completed set up.
Should be butter.
Let me suggest Adw ex. It makes this phone butter smooth and is a way better interface.
So far I love my phone. Glad to have found a vanilla dual core so quickly.
I've thought about the sensation. But I would just run the same thing on that and have to deal with HTC sense.
Once the themes come and we get the notification bar power widget things couldn't get better.
At least thus far.

LOVE ITTTTTT
I just came from a Nexus One and must say this phone ROCKS it.
Reason you are seeing complaints more than praise is because the people that aren't having problems are too busy playing with their phones
Yeah I LOVE this phone. I have had 0 issues with it so far, and it's very fast. I am coming from a nexus s. I think it will especially be awesome once we get a working recovery and some gingerbread cm love on here if I had to complain about something it would be the ideal wish the battery life was a little better but I have only had the phone for a day and i've been using the crappie out of it so I am sure once the battery cycles and few times it will be fine. It's not horrible. I also like the screen better then the samoled screens, maybe I just like it because it's different
Edit I almost forot, I have wifi calling back which I didn't have on the nexus, another plus. Wifi holds great signal also

Love mine too! No issues at all!
Exactly that's why I created this poll
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043500
so we can see how many people are seeing issues and how many people think its perfect.
Nexus One to G2X has been a bit of a change, but so far it's mostly for the better.
I'll be sure to vote in the poll if any issue pop up, but so far it's dy-no-mite!
Samsung Fascinate to G2X. LOVE the G2X. I think the lcd bleed issues are being way overblown.

N1 to G2x Love it
This phone is super nice and works perfect not one problem here
I loved my N1 but this phone is way better .....
I tested it out at the T-Mobile store today. It is awesome! I just got my MT4G few months ago...
Nexus One to G2x. Overall I am satisfied. There are a few quirks but nothing major. Mostly things that can be fixed through software... like my email signature won't save... keeps resorting to the default Tmobile blurb.
Really the worst thing so far is it requires drivers to see the internal and SD storage. Not a bog deal bit can suck if you just need to copy something real quick from a foreign PC.
Getting used to typing on a 4" display throws my typing off. Ill get used to it though. And wiimote doesn't find the Bluetooth stack yet.
Little things but pretty slick overall. Screen is bright and responsive. A good upgrade from my N1. I don't miss the trackball like I thought I would.
G2X is a great phone. Most people that are having issues also have a very small understanding of Android and computers.
I think you can count @cyanogen as one happy G2X owner.

"The G2X is insanely fast. I like it so far. Not much crapware by default either. Nice job @tmobile "
http://twitter.com/#!/cyanogen/status/60764429117165568
"@andrewmartonik it's just a nice clean Google-ish build by default. no fancy skins or crapware."
Got the g2x and its awesome, the problem I noticed right away is that it doesn't turn of the data service when turning on WIFI...

This phone has the best gps that I've ever seen in a phone. I stay in the 4g network more on this phone than any I've ever had. I still prefer HTC phones, but all in all, this phone is solid, and will remain relevant for quite some time.
I see alot of former nexus one users switching over to this phone. I would like to add myself to that list. This g2x is incredible. I love it, love it, love it. Cant wait till cm adds his little touch.

So what all would be required to get calls working on this? Is it just a matter of getting a phone app on there or is it a more complex problem? Id love to see this get to be a full fledged, stable rom.
It won't ever have working phone stuff.
This is honeycomb, not meant for phones

You could have a duel boot setup to have both in one device, easier than switching backups. I'm gonna give this a run, any kernels work best for this?
Loaded this up, slow I expected. No on board keyboard that I got to work. The physical keyboard did not have functional numbers that I got to work. I could not get the power button to work either.Nice work though, looks good.
So, sent from my mobile. What's new?
sorry to bother, but i've a question.. i've got a samsung i9003 that has chipset mostly identical to droid, the rest of the hardware is different, i know, phone, gps, wifi, etc. it is possible to recompile kernel from milestone to samsung, knowing the differences, and adding the kernel modules to make it work? gingerbread for this phone is arriving next month, but no rom have been spotted, but i hopo... sorry to invade your section, but i wanted to ask to some developers and i hope a good reply... sorry for my english.
True, the original software isnt meant for phones BUT, he just managed to boot it on a phone, opening up the possibilty phone use. I want to know whats required to get it working.
I loaded up the rom and it works but there are missing elements, without them it is pretty much useless. I had no wifi or data so I could not load anything on it. Neat to play with though, needs a 1000 MHz kernel just to tinker with.
kind make me happy i made the choice of buying this phone in july last summer.
How about root access? Flashed another overclock kernel pushed setcpu but no root access
Very impressive although for phone use doesn't do much there. Plus I can't use the power switch to shut device on and off
did this project die? hopefully not just seems no development has happened in a while
Really, its not going to get any better than this. Only reason I ported it to my phone was because I wanted to see what it would look like. Then people started requesting ports. This was never and will never be anything close to a DD. Its just something fun to flash and play with for a minute, then go back to your ctual rom.

I've been running CM7 for over 2 months now and I have stopped coveting any new roms, or any tweaks at all. I came to Android from iPhone when the Dell Streak came out and I was obsessed with what new things I could do with it. I couldn't wait for DJSteve or someone to tweak it some more. I came to Infuse with that same motivation and flashed and flashed and flashed whatever folks came out with just to try it. Then I got CM7 and only waited a short time for some small kinks to be ironed out and I can't think of anything I want my phone to do (although having less shutter lag on the camera would be great). So, with IOS you have the same OS for a year or so and get some improvements, but with XDA and the awesome DEVS you really get all kinds of options.....So here I am, extremely happy with my phone, rarely checking XDA for anything new and I'm wondering..........what "more" do you want? ..........

+1 on the Bluetooth .. would be SWEET if someone can ever get it working.
On another side, also with CM7 .. for the Infuse, fix the front-facing camera resolution issue .. this camera ain't 640x480 only !!!
I want it ALL THE WORLD.....
The world is not enough...
Bluetooth would be nice. I'd also like to see some real 4G. I know it is in certain places, and it has nothing to do with the developers...
Hoping when gingerbread is finally released officially for our phones, maybe we will see some small improvements... but like you said... there's not much besides the tiny tweaks... and maybe.... getting them to fly .... haha
EDIT: OH YA!! I almost forgot the most important thing... I would like to see reliable working GPS... I have tried all the tricks I could find and it takes soooo long to get a lock and when I finally do.... suddenly I am a mile off course... Samsung GPS.... tisk... tisk

Part of the fun of Android is that you have the choice. You can take something and be perfectly happy with it like cm7 and run with it, or you can push on to the limits and invent new things as you go. That's the beauty though is that it's up to you, not the company releasing it, not the community, not your mom. It's YOUR choice how far you take it.

I'll be happy when I can get a ROM that will connect to a PS3 controller and be able to output HDMI video. After that, I'll probably stop checking XDA altogether except once every few weeks for an ICS ROM.

I have been searching around for something like this but the best I could find is this archaic abandoned app called beatmaker but I can't link to it. I know it exists in the Google Code database. It's not a bad start though I'm looking for an app like that but hopefully with some more advanced features like what's found a device such as the Boss Dr. Sample. (I can't link to show what I'm talking about, just look up the SP-202, I still own one of those.). I'd be very willing to beta test this and I am now producing music on my MotoXoom using Caustic 2 and would like to have something more interactive to use than just the sequencer in Caustic. I would be using my Samsung GTab with ICS on it (AOKP CM9 build7) as my primary test device.

Have you tried "Su-preme MPA"?, it's more like an AKAI sampler but might be what you're looking for. I agree my app is not meant for this kind of live performance.

Yeah, what I'm looking for is something that is directly interactive with the samples. I'm giving SU-preme MPA Lite a try. The price for the full version seems kind of steep but I don't even know if it's worth it for me. Thanks for the app suggestion.
P.S. HEY! I'm a huge fan of Caustic! Been working with with it for over a week now trying to work on new material since I got my MotoXoom. And I'm far from saying your app is not meant for live performance. I truly believe I can use it when I get to the live performance aspect of my music. It'd be a great sequencer for songs. I hope to see you improve upon it, especially with tempo changes.

It's definitely different and original, which I like. Hard to get a real feel for it since it's basically a non-working demo at this point. Lots of swiping all over the place to do everything. But it looks pretty clean and has some cool features like the favorite apps bar and easy app switching/multitasking.
for people asking about the link, it is on rootzwiki forum.

Builds for the GS3 variants is just a developer preview, I'm guessing we won't see a solid functional build for any device until the source code drops which will probably be around the same time the Ubuntu phone is announced/released. Truly unique experience, lots of swiping and great for multi tasking which I do a lot of. Wasn't too thrilled with the dock system but I suppose it's worth getting use to. The ability to dual boot ubuntu touch/android will be the selling point for most ppl.
