Facebook notifications

ok coming from a blackberry to Android I have to say the Facebook app sucks when ever I get a notification ,yes it appear but it doesn't notify me on a comment and when I do open it it opens in the web browser. what's up with this its just stupid, the blackberry app was much better than this it would open the Facebook app when you opened the notification. is there any plan In the pipe line to improve this or even any mods I can use to improve this? sorry for any grammar typed on my phone in under 2 mins LOL.

There are some 3rd party facebook apps. Babbler (paid and Lite) and Bloo. I haven't really tried them so I don't know how good they are.

that's the perfect app takes a little setting up but if your having problems just ask me and ill be more than happy to give you a hand

Which app did you try? I downloaded Babbler Lite after replying and I like it much better than the official app. I haven't decided if it's worth getting the paid version yet though.

yeah im using babble lite its much better than normal Facebook I think I might buy full version just to support the devs who have made such a great app

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll end up buying this app. It's definitely the best FB app I have used.

ok well I did it thru the browser I had to go to the application thru Facebook on the browser (just search babbler on Facebook) and accept it and all then go to the application on your device and accept some more and then it all worked hope this help. they really need to sort this out this is the only big downfall with this app. anyway any problems anyone just pm me

Actually, I didn't have to go through the browser at all. I think the issue is that you have to scroll all the way to the bottom on the screen that seems to be just sitting there. At the bottom you will see the allow button.

yeah you just need to wait till people begin to use android and it will begin to get the updates, i mean look at iphone apps there amazing cause that is THE thing atm, and blackberries also have a good following so the apps for that are normally ok, but as android is getting bigger and better ( imho its alredy the best) the apps will come rolling in like they did for the iphone/ipad

Agreed, I wish there was some way to just port the Iphone FB app over to Android lol

[REQUEST] GOOD facebook app for 2.1

are there any good facebook apps for 2.1? i have a rooted n1 running the latest cyanogenmod and all of the facebook apps ive used suck. babbler has no notifications. bloo has the same problem plus more and the official android app is even as advanced as babbler or bloo. any suggestions

bloo works fine afaik. the best alternative available.

bloo gives me instant notifications

i get instant notifications but when i click the notification it shows i have no comments or no likes. thats weird. idk why mines is different

I wish Bloo had a widget =[

anyone else running cyanogen 5.0.5.3 and having problems with bloo or babbler? and if so do you know any facebook apps that work well?

I'm with you buddy. The native app sucks, no video uploads, wonky scrolling, no notifications. Bloo sucks too, it doesn't post comments when they've been posted, can't see who "likes" statuses, Babbler's even worse. Pisses me off that FB just wants a good iPhone app and forgets that some folks do not want the bloody fruit phone.

i used to use fBook but it no longer keeps me logged in, so i went through a bunch *bloo, babbler ect.. but found "Facebook Touch" from the market is what i wanted and works.
i usually open it and go to the bottom and click "mobile" then i get an easy to use facebook that gives me notifications on the top.

Touch seems pretty good. Thanks for that. Are there no apps that allow you to tag photos? I'm mean really? LOL!

no it is still working for me ...

+1 for bloo, seems to be the best. I also have Facebook photo sync so it will download photos to my contacts for caller ID which bloo doesn't do.

stop spreading rumors.
works fine. always will. unless country blocks it.
as for tagging photos, again use Facebook Touch from marketplace, then at the bottom click full page and just do it that way.

[APP REQUEST] Social Centric Phonebook

Hello all,
I hope I'm not infringing on some forum rules by asking/posting in this format.
I am looking for a Social centric phonebook much alike the one found with HTC sense or other customized interfaces.
To be clear I'd like to find all information attached to a particular contact in 1 place. So if I get to Mr X, i'll see all text messages ever exchanged with him, his facebook, twitter, what have you page and call logs.
I've seen Phonebook 2.0 www [.] voxmobili [.] com / phonebook / which looks just about right except it appears it hasn't been launched yet.
So is there anything right now that could do the trick.
Note: My nexus is 1 week old if even and I'd rather not root for now but I'd be glad to hear about apps that'd require rooting, for future reference.

Are you sure? This appears to be the same version I used to use... You have to install the 'mix-ins' seperately comprende? Or did you do that and it still didn't work? If you want, you can ***** at the dev here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623851

Actually I read on the changelog that FB was disabled and on market people were complaining about FC's. But I installed it and it works

I have Google+ invites for people who put there gmail in this form after you join it I will send a second email about the viewsonic circle

I am also getting Force Close crashes when using the Google+ app, when selecting any of the Share buttons (my gTablet has Flashback Alpha 5.4 ROM). I can read the Stream, but not add to it.
The web version of Google+ works fine so far on my gTablet.

You need to use something like my fake location to fake a GPS - Google+ (and some other apps, it seems) chokes and dies even if you have wifi location enabled.
My Fake Location is free in the marketplace.

I did installed ROM for my phone... very cool!!! I love it :highfive: but one problem is the weird browser, you cannot see anything on it... it's "black screen on websites" you cannot sign in google without bypass the account asking you to sign in but impossible for me to see, I did installed the firefox and it work fine but the default browser not work at all and I can't get in my account without it for Gmail, play store, etc... you know I mean?
I hope anyone can fix it for that: bugs found in

I totally forgot to tell ya, I already did reformat and reinstalled the ROM and still same problem... any idea how to fix that stupid "weird browser" that I cannot see anything on that webpage... also I already try others websites and same as google.com so... what I do?

UPDATE: "Band-aid" ---> I did tested, very weird but work for now but you have to turn off the "2-step verification" to make it work without get into that stupid black webpage and you can get in your own account. <--- "Band-aid" for now... But we know we do not like to turn off the "2-step verification"... so somehow I need to know how to replace that browser with push in the ADB???

I think it's failing to having full work... Almost it is 5% but that browser need to be fix ASAP...

Almost all 4.4 Custom roms of older devices has Black boxes problems, this bug is a breakage in the new chromium based webkit and is in any app that makes use of it. The chrome browser works fine as a replacement. You need to modify the rom to fix this but i don't recommend this, you should wait till the developer fix it.

UPDATE:
I already replaced the default browser with newly updated browser, manually install by push ADB... but same as before Also I find out that other more than just one bug but weird when I turn on the Tethering & portable hotspot, I did tested by my laptop and tablet, it's said connected but no internet... I already checked on my phone said it's on internet and supposed to be work... "E" or "3G" or "H" on my phone but mostly time on "H" at full bars still no internet on Tethering & portable hotspot but itself phone can access internet with firefox... it's work fine... but still having bugs...
