[REQUEST] GOOD facebook app for 2.1

are there any good facebook apps for 2.1? i have a rooted n1 running the latest cyanogenmod and all of the facebook apps ive used suck. babbler has no notifications. bloo has the same problem plus more and the official android app is even as advanced as babbler or bloo. any suggestions

bloo gives me instant notifications

i get instant notifications but when i click the notification it shows i have no comments or no likes. thats weird. idk why mines is different

I wish Bloo had a widget =[

anyone else running cyanogen 5.0.5.3 and having problems with bloo or babbler? and if so do you know any facebook apps that work well?

I'm with you buddy. The native app sucks, no video uploads, wonky scrolling, no notifications. Bloo sucks too, it doesn't post comments when they've been posted, can't see who "likes" statuses, Babbler's even worse. Pisses me off that FB just wants a good iPhone app and forgets that some folks do not want the bloody fruit phone.

the best is actually... touch.facebook.com

i used to use fBook but it no longer keeps me logged in, so i went through a bunch *bloo, babbler ect.. but found "Facebook Touch" from the market is what i wanted and works.
i usually open it and go to the bottom and click "mobile" then i get an easy to use facebook that gives me notifications on the top.

Touch seems pretty good. Thanks for that. Are there no apps that allow you to tag photos? I'm mean really? LOL!

no it is still working for me ...

+1 for bloo, seems to be the best. I also have Facebook photo sync so it will download photos to my contacts for caller ID which bloo doesn't do.

stop spreading rumors.
works fine. always will. unless country blocks it.
as for tagging photos, again use Facebook Touch from marketplace, then at the bottom click full page and just do it that way.

Bloo 1.5 W/ Facebook Chat

i just want to start off by saying that "Bloo" is one of the best app for facebook out there. the developer had decide to either let bloo die or make it open source.
please respect hes work and show support if you want "bloo" to survive.
visit hes website "fbandroid.wordpress.com" or on the market. and let him know how you feel.
By the way he has release a "Preview" of the new Bloo 1.5 With Facebook Chat. (REMEMBER IS NOT THE OFFICIAL RELEASE) everything seems to be working fine for me. but there should be some bugs.

TO PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE 6 DIGITS...PLEASE FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION:
1. In your browser, enter in http://m.facebook.com (this will bring up the mobile site)log-in to your facebook account.
(MAKE SURE YOUR IN THE MOBILE VERSION NOT THE TOUCH. FACE PAGE)
2. In the “Search” box at the BOTTOM of the page type in “Bloo for Android” and click on “Search”.
3. Click on the application “Bloo for Android” (NOT the group).
4. Then click on the button that says “Allow”. This will link your Facebook account with Bloo.
5. Now, from your phone go to your Bloo application and click on “Get Code” and it should take you to the code page!
6. Enjoy!
*I used the m.facebook.com site directly from my PC, I didn’t try it on my phone… so if it doesn’t work on your phone, try it on your home computer.

Just wanted to say thanks.

ive been using this app for about a month now. and its great. the FB chat feature is cool but it needs to show when people are away. as far as regular fb i still dont see notifications all the time and sometimes when i get a notification it doesnt pop up. other then that great app. anyone know if someones going to make this app better since its open source

I downloaded this app on today, and I absolutely love it!!! I had version 1.4.4 and it didn't do quite what it was suppose to. I must say, I'm a happy camper with 1.5! Thanks for sharing.

Dumb question... maybe. How the heck do you open the Facebook chat?! I can't find it!

Bloo 1.5 mainscreen. Menu / Preferences / check box enable chat.
It should start up when you start the app. Mine stays on until I reboot.

to make the app work you need the permissions from facebook (its not the app)
if its not working directly from your phone.
visit this pages to give access and permission for bloo and chat to work

These links do not work. All they do is give the same error as when trying them directly on the device.

Just can't get pass the getting 6 digits key from facebook. Bump

Same thing here, can't get code for 1.4.4 or 1.5. Hope there's a solution soon. I want Bloo back.

i have recently reinstall and install the bloo 1.5 app just to make sure that if it was working or not. and it works normal as it suppost to...not sure exactly what your doing wrong.
when you first open the application " it will ask you insert digits" and just click "get code", (make sure your sign on, on your facebook page through the web browser) , and it will direct you to a "generator page" and just click on the button and your set.
and there was no problem for me, it was as easy.

I am no authority on what the developers of this app are up to but what I gather from reading their blog is that 1.5 has been sent out to select beta testers, who those beta testers are and how to become one I do not know. 1.5 seems to be the last build that will be released (if ever lol) It sounds like they are concentrating on bloo too (or how ever the spelling of the new open source versions is) They are completely rewriting most of the code from the ground up. I am not sure how feature rich bloo too will be since they are making it open source and it sounds like once the code is released they will be leaving it up to the community to develop what ever people want.
That is just my take on the status of bloo.

In an unrelated note, does anyone know how Facebook contact syncing works. I have a few contacts that I can not get to sync with Facbook :-( One of the contacts I have her full name (first, middle, and last) in my addressbook but on facebook she only uses her first and last and then another contact the last names are the same in the addressbook and facebook but the first name is different (uses nickname for her first name on facebook)
Can anything be done to sync these contacts or contacts like these without having to change their names in my addressbook?

PUSH Notifications for Facebook Fix!

Yes! Finally we have Push notifications for Facebook AND Twitter After the new facebook update, you might have noticed you are forced to have your facebook sync every 5, 10, 30 etc. minutes? I keep getting an error message when trying to register an account. Also, on the site they say they done have twitter support just yet. I like the idea though and I hope everything gets sorted out. I'd pay money for twitter push notifications.

This app SHOULD also give twitter push updates, if not, TweetCaster has PUSH notifications for ALL andorid devices

Instead of using the Gmail app for you phone, use the "Email app". Go to settings -> accounts -> Add Account -> and click on "Email" not "Gmail" After you set up your vaious emails. Go to the "email" app on your homescreen, then click the "menu" key with the four squares to bring up the dropbox, click "email delivery" then check Data Push Let me know if it works

Errors
It looks like many of you are getting registration errors, I apologize for the inconvenience. I will contact the developer this afternoon and hopefully use my dev. knowledge to get it up and running soon! Keep in mind, you will have to uninstall the current version and download the new one once it releases. Thank you for your help.

TweetCaster uses PUSH for notifications? Isn't not stated on their website.

As far as I know. I have been getting Push notifs. with that app. Running Droid Pro 2.2.1. Give it a shot, let me know if it works for you

If I untick "Auto-Refresh", my Notification tab is ungrey. Means it will not even notifiy me at all. But if I tick Auto-Refresh, it ask me for a timing to refresh.
So isn't that still pulling?

Looks like TweetCaster does not support push sorry! Let me take a look at what twitter apps do support Push, if any.

I have two Google+ accounts but after installing the app i can see only one and after selecting it i get a looong "connecting" and then back. Nothing happen....
[A few minutes later] Huddle worked and after that G+ also! Yeeee!

Installed and booted fine, seems to be working all good!
Now to dig through it and see whats working and whats not haha
Not found anything that does not work yet... but then again Im probably not testing things that other people ma use.
MMS is working for me no problems, I have installed many many games/app's and they are all working.
Comes with Nokia Camera Extras/contact share already installed.
I installed Nokia Drive no problems.
If anyone wants me to test something specific, let me know.

Yeah the app works, but I want all my facebook contacts/numbers etc to sync together haha

Has this issue been resolved? I'd love to test this ROM out and Focus 1.4 gets so few ROMs anyway.
Another important feature for me is the option of "Static IP". Can the OP confirm its availability?

The Static IP option in the Wi-Fi section is there matey.
Not sure on the FB issue though, I cant see any later versions of anything :s

Didnt seem to work for me, I get the same oops error.
I take it by this you mean go to people hub, then open bottom menu/Settings then click Add facebook?

I am not sure what it means, since I don't have the ROM installed. I am waiting for this sync issue to be sorted out; it's a deal-breaker for me.
Even I understood it the same as you, perhaps you're in a better position to understand the discussion in that thread (link). Check out the last post in that page.
