CM 10 v6 won't recognize External HDD - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have cm10 v6 on my tf101, and i use a adapter to connect to my external hdd. i can see it shows in the storage that "sd card" have been mounted, but i cant see the content of the hdd. When i try card reader with sd card, it works fine. I am using a ntfs seagate 3.5" hdd with external power source. so power shouldnt be a problem. i wonder if its the Cm10 doesnt support ntfs? will the stock rom support that?
thanks

Same problem
I am trying to get my hard disk recognised. I have tried various JB Roms with no success. The hard drive that I am trying to access is recognised on my Nexus 7 running Panaroid Android. I am sure that my hard drive was recognised in an earlier version of EOS. Hopefully someone has an answer.

I have just installed Paranoid Android 2.5 and it works out of the box.

Micro SDXC 64gb card & CyanogenMod 9.201 Nightly

Hi all, having an issue here. After forking out £37, I put it in my CM9 Stable Sensation XE and it didn't work, so I got told to update to nightly. Now running 9.201xxxx Nightly, and it still doesn't work, it prompts me to format but it just says on the notification bar "Damaged SD" and won't actually format it.
Cheers for any help!
try to format it in windows first. if it still doesnt work maybe 32gb is the only maximum size supported by sensation

Can't mount SD Card! :(

I have a serious problem, I flashed CM9 on accident when I was already on CM10 nightlies which put my phone into a bootloop so I did a factory restore from fastboot. Somehow this made it so that my phone can no longer recognize the SD Card. This makes it impossible to install ROMs or even apps. Basically my phone is useless without a recognizable SD Card. I tried everything from updating drivers to mounting USB and recovery and nothing seems to get the internal SD Card recognized. Any ideas?
Bump!

You could try mounting an ftp source to /mnt/sdcard and then sending a broadcast out to all apps that sd card has mounted(The broadcast that comes from the settings app that notifys other application that the sd card is mounted.)
---------- Post added at 03:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:33 PM ----------
You could also try using an otg cable and a flash drive.
Thanks for help but maybe i can't explain correctly my problem, all that I want is to have a working external micro sd with cyanogenmod
When I insert my micro sd my tablet sed me "sd is corrupt formatting?"Afterdo a format the tablet ask me again the same question:crying:
I'm looking for a solution for to have an external sd working with cyanogenmod 10,I read that I'm not the only with this problem, but any have a solution, please help me:fingers-crossed:
Thanks for your help e for your patience:silly:

OTG? And external storage...

20141017_215927
I currently have this setup.. The problem that I'm running into is connection.
When I connect it to the phone it will recognize the USB Storage device and then disconnect almost immediately.
Could it be that the stock rom does not support it?
I think that's the cable.
Happened to me too at my Note 8.0. I must hold the OTG cable if gonna use that
If the kernel in the rom not support it, it won't read the external storage at all

But the cable is 100% snug fit.

Haven't tried another cable... Maybe time to buy another one? Could it be the usb stick? doubt the usb stick has problem since it's so new
I have the same setup since the Note 2 and tried it on the Note 4 and it works just fine. I would try another cable or try another drive. I just tried with my external hdd and it works fine too.

Which cable are you using? Where did you buy? Seems like there are a lot of OTG cables that look the same.

Bought mine from Dealextreme long ago.
Try formatting the USB either NTFS or FAT32 and check! I remember that stock Rom/Kernel supports one specific format. Post back if you tried the above said

I think it's the FAT32, I can't use my external HDD which has NTFS format. But thats in my galaxy note 8, haven't got my note 4 yet as I'm waiting for the bronze gold one.

Maybe you should try it with other device man, if it doesn't work, then it's time the change the cable. I'm about to reply it earlier, but posting something on xda trough samsung web browser take me to vBulletin page, I don't know why.
It is FAT32 that is needed. I originally had my 126GB PNY drive (just like yours) formatted NTFS and it did not work.
Interestingly, it appears to also work with exFAT.
For larger files than 4 gb you need to format you media in exfat format. Just plug into your pc and format in exfat. Ntfs is possible with root and programs like paragon or nexus .

Android SD Card Issue - Formated as "Internal" On Marshmallow, Dropped Phone

Android SD Card Issue - Formated as "Internal" On Marshmallow, Dropped Phone
Hey all!
1) Upgraded phone to marshmallow (Moto G 3 International)
2) Formated SanDisk 32GB as "Internal" instead of "Portable"
3) Dropped phone ==> SD card became unreadable
I tried:
- Inserting into another Android phone (didn't work, which I expected)
- Inserted into Windows PC using adapter, using diskpart "clean all". Now works in adapter on Windows PC, but is not recognised by multiple Android phones (including the original phone) as being able to be formatted and used.
Any ideas as to what I can do to make this SD card usable in an Android phone as any type of storage again?
Thanks!

If that doesn't work check the partitions on it using Disk Management(Windows) or us GParted and delete all partitions and create a new partition.

Hey!
Thanks for the reply
1) The initial formatting was done by the Android phone. Neither Mac's Disk Utility nor Windows Disk Management / diskpart command line tool can change partitions on the SD card for some reason. Neither can they format it.
2) Gparted - I thought it was only a Linux utility on the command line. Is there a Windows command line equivalent? Would it succeed where Disk Management/Diskpart have failed?
Thanks again!

Hello!
Quick update - have been unable to get a computer that can live-boot Linux AND has the appropriate slot to read my SD card. Are you aware of anything I can do on either Windows 10 or MacOS that can solve this?
