THE GUIDE TO UNDERVOLTING
What you will need:
PREFERABLY the application Tegrak OVERCLOCK PAID! can also use set cpu
TEGRAK
LOAD THE OVERCLOCK MODULE
go into the "TWEAKS" section and be sure to select DEADLINE as your scheduler!!!
you will see the option "OPTIMIZATION" go there
now you will see 5 levels to customize
ONLY LEVEL 0 CAN YOU CUSTOMIZE EVERYTHING
Now if you only want to undervolt with no overclock here is the chart you need to use ON GINGERBREAD:
UNDERVOLT SETTINGS
level0 - 1000 - 1155 - 1065 -------this level can change frequency but volts need to change as well
level1 - 800 - 1040 - 1035
level2 - 400 - 955 - 960
level3 - 200 - 835 - 950
level4 - 100 - 825 - 930
once you enter these in you can go to tegraks main menu and go into "PROFILE" and you can save your current settings or choose previous ones.
Here are some overclock values you can use for level 0
LEVEL 0 1100 1100 1090
LEVEL 0 1200 1195 1095
LEVEL 0 1300 1295 1115
LEVEL 0 1400 1315 1125
LEVEL 0 1500 1375-85 1150
LEVEL 0 1600 1400 1175-1200
***THIS WILL BE UPDATED WITH MORE INFO SOON
In my best Mr. Burns voice: Excellent!
Always wanted a undervolting guide. Nice!
:C my phone reboots with these undervolt values for some reason. I'm running Valhalla 1.1(haven't has the time to update and don't have wifi so...) and adrenaline shot X. I also have stability checker off so I'm sure that's not the issue. Its fine at first but then rebootes once I start mulititasking like listening to music, texting and getting on Facebook at the same time. Seems to work fine for everyone else so I don't get what's going on

Hi guys,
Sorry for the rookey questions, but :
1. Do I need to install TegraK kernel ? If so, before or after installing TegraK overclock ?
2. Will TegraK OC free version do, or i need the paid version ? what's the difference ?
3. ICY56 - I'm having the exact configuration you have (Valhalla 1.1 and Adrenaline ShotX) can you please explain what changes you noticed regarding battery consumption, and doesn't it affect your phone responsiveness, stability and performance ?
Thanks,
Itzik.
Answers
1) Tegrak will work fine with valhalla, most (if not every) custom rom has the needed kernel already.
2) You need the paid version because free version only allows overclock up to 1.3 you cant adjust anything else.
3) I can't answer as I'm not set up the same, but from my understanding you shouldn't see any negative affects, just increased battery life.
Every time I try to undervolt my phone. It reboots constantly. Even with ICBINB KJ1. Scheduler is set to deadline and governor is set to ondemand. What am I doing wrong?

Well I haven't noticed a decrease in performance and stability. The phone actually feels the exact same. As for bettery life, I can't really comment on that yet since I'm in the process of recalibrating my battery and I haven't been on UV long enough to say but so far battery life seems to be a little better

Even if I increase voltage it still freezes and then restarts phone @ 1600mhz
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I've had 1664 mhz before stable. It can ne done, every phone will be different with what voltages work. experiment a little. But I wouldn't go to high, don't want a $500 paperweight.
@ 1.3 GHz, this phone its rock solid, so anything higher is over kill imo.

Ok so i was wondering if overclocking this phone is a good idea? i am probably gonna use about 8-900 mhz anywayz. I know its not the most expensive device out there but still its pretty expensive for me xD. So i was wondering if the overclocking it would effect the phone in some way.
thx

I don't feel it really speeds up the phone too much and if you compared a phone with 900 MHz processor as standard with our phone overclocked to 900 MHz processor, the standard 900 MHz processor would be a lot faster. I hope this makes sense. I didn't explain it very well.
For example, compare a HTC desire to our phone overclocked to 1 GHz. The HTC would still be a million times faster.
Anyway, a non-overclocked phone is still quite smooth and i have no problems with it. If you want to overclock, you will get a nice little boost but not a really big boost.

You should set your main profile to max of 800 as its the safest for your cpu although i overclock to 1366/1400 when im gaming . Its faster than not overclocking(for daily usage for me not sure abt other people)

You can look under the index list for the kernel threads of fugumod ultra(OC to 1366) or the official fugumod thread(can OC to 800Mhz) or the G3mod thread(OC to 1200Mhz)

I overclocked to 1.3 ghz by uc kernel.
I wanna ask that at 1.3 is it safe for daily use becoz its quite high.

No one will recommend to fix max 1.3Ghz. Cause it may over heat your phone due to it is over clock.
Ofcause, this shorten you phone life.

Better be on 1Ghz as default. And when multitasking or playing games, OVERCLOCK!! But 1.2 maxx..
And TI OMAP's are powerfull enough, can resist overclocking.
And moreover 1.2 is standart overclocking for our OMAP.

Be on one ghz...
Seriously didnt fell any diff........
its ma opinion..use custom kernal....
on demand..
nd make a profile....when screen gets off...set cpu max to 800 min to 300..nd same while charging..saves battery
Guys, try below combination
governor : lionheart
I/O scheduler : sio
you will fell it.
Can someone give me a tutorial on how to undervolt/underclock so the phone does not nned so much battery? Does it even bring so much?

Using setcpu is the easiest way. You can also define profiles and change as and when you like
It can do both uc and uv...

i cant say about the voltages, but you can set the frequency to your usage...
i suggest you use 760 as max voltage with the power saving mode...
Be careful while adjusting voltages, i have read some where that if you are giving less voltage values it may brick you phone also.
Regarding Frequency: i am using as below
on Boot Max 1200 and Min 1000.
while Screen off Max 456 Min and 312 priority 75.
While battery greater than 75 % Max 1200 and Min 1200 Priority 50.
I am getting battery around 1.5 to 2 days..
thank you
so uv is not good?

UV will give you lots of unsability, so lots of reboots and hangs. It will NOT save much energy. All the few energy that you can save you will waste it double or more rebooting. Check bedalus report about undervolting in the Nexus S General forum.

You maybe want to try underclocking 200 MHz or so, at stock voltages, this yes could give you some extra battery life.
Go to settings> display and untick auto adjust screen tone.
All the games run perfectly now!
Can I propose you to collaborate with Kyrillos13 in his thread? You could create a table with issues and fixes found for them in leaked JB. Then we would have issues and fixes in one place.
Anyway regarding lag-fix: I confirm, that it works for Modern Combat series.
Oh yeah im gonna flash JB 2morro .. Thanks to u !
