I will though, complain about advocating others to steal applications. You rotten, cheap ass piece of ****. How can you afford to spend hundreds of dollars on your phone, yet can't spare a few bucks for applications and support the developers in the process? Go crawl back into your hole.

While I agree with the whole pirated apps thing, I don't see where he suggested that?? He didn't mention Applanet or anything like that. Maybe the post has been edited before I read it?

No, he didn't suggest stealing in the quote. There is nothing wrong with suggesting free alternatives. Not sure what the issue is.

actually I edited the post. I am a newbie here and I talked about some free stuff. But Bluecross helped me to realize that it's wrong and I modified the post.

I think the issue was not that they were "free", but "pirated". Also, the justification that it's ok for "poor people" isn't really valid -- especially when were talking about a $600 unsubsidized phone. I'm not flaming, but unfortunately piracy is a bit of a problem everywhere, but seemingly especially on Android. It's hard to say if it's the real reason, but it gets thrown around a lot as an excuse that more developers don't bring their apps over from iOS, etc (along with the fragmentation excuse). Plus, a lot of developers are very small, and need the financial support to continue what they do.

game
Well 1st congradulations on becoming a developer. I too in my spare time develop but I develop games. If this is your 1st time developing a complete project I would suggest a simple game. A game like pong, space invaders, or pacman. I dont know your level but those can be made relatively easy and give you time to add something to make an original twist. Since I program in C language I dont know if any of the commands are similar in java maybe I could help. Goodluck on your project and keep us posted.
This is proly a tough one, but one I would (and many others) love to see on our HD2 phones.
Netflix watch instantly app from our queue.
Why they half assed the Netflix app in the first place is beyond me.
thanks for all the suggestions guys! knew some of you here on xda would be happy to gimme some ideas. First i thought nobody was gonna bother replying. lol. thanks again and I will keep you guys informed when i decide what to do and if I need any help. Thanks a lot everyone.
I just noticed your handle; football-fan. I am assuming you mean soccer?
Perhaps combine your love for the game with your project and develop something relating to the upcoming World Cup.
An app that has the game fixture, match time etc. It could also connect and update scores and match stats as they happen. It could keep track of the heats and results. Keep a tree/chart of who wins and loses, who makes it to the finals etc.
I have no doubt there are plenty of people out there who would love an app like that. Especially considering you could produce something that is ad free. I am assuming that any official app that comes from commercial organisations will be plastered with sponsorship logos and the like.

How about a playlist editor for wmp? Something that would allow you to browse folders and select tracks and build a playlist from scratch.
It may seem a pretty plain application, but it would mean coding a decent GUI (that would obvously run purely on user interaction), but it would still have some more "gutsy" stuff, like system access, reading folder and files etc., and you'd also have to make sure you can build a playlist file. (I have no idea what format a playlist is in - it could be a simple list, but is more likely to be xml)

After all the great things I've heard about iPhone's marketplace, I was going to get one until AT&T did their little data plan switch.
Then I got the EVO, hoping because Android was a developing market and there were thousands and thousands of apps, it would compare to iPhone's.
Not even close. I'm scrolling through, trying to find cool apps, and most of them seem to be utility apps or some such stuff. Most of the reviews on these things seem to indicate the apps are buggy or the developer has stopped support.
Where are all the cool apps like iPhone has? Are they in the paid section? Even those seem to be buggy from what I'm reading in the User Comments sections. How come iPhone gets great voice to text support (I know people who use this function a lot) and Android doesn't? Corporations are putting out iPhone apps left and right and Android has practically nothing. And the ones they ARE putting out, again, seem buggy.
Seems like a great waste to me.
Someone please clue me in and show me what I've been missing.
The AppStore has an 18 month head start on the Android Market, not to mention there are like 5 times the number of iPod/iPhones then Android devices right now. So it makes since that developers have up to this point been putting a majority of their time and resources into the AppStore. But, with 160k+ Android activations a day and growing Android WILL take over iPhones at some point in the future and we'll really begin to see a ton of developer support as the platform continues to quickly grow.
Ya what he ^ said. Android will eventually be big enough where developers cannot ignore the potential customers. As long as google doesn't fragment the market too much, you should see the big developers start dual releasing software (similar to xbox and ps3).
great voice to text supprt, you know thats google's software tht does that on the iphone
I got a apple fanboy at work and he is always saying my market sucks and I ask him to show me some of his life changing apps, and he has nothing cool

maybe is apple drops that part of EULA where an apple developer must be only dedicated to apple development or be dropped from the app store, much like our facebook app is far behind the apple one. the new team has to catch up

What are you looking for in the Market? What do you want an App to do for you? You cannot just get into to the Market to 'look for cool apps'. It will be very helpful if you narrow your search, that way you can get the help you want. The Android Market cannot be blamed for corporations that put out sub-par or buggy apps. Take your issues up with their developers.
If you depend solely on users comments to make your decision about an app, you might end up not trying any. Since Android phones have varied models and specifications there are bound to be different experiences from different users. Even for users with the same device, the App may appear a bit buggy because of the modifications they have made to their phones.
There are different communities of users that review Apps and offer feedback that may be useful. AppBrain is a good one to try. Good luck.
I try not to read too much into user comments because some of the people either dont know how to use the app or are trying to use a brand new app on an outdated android phone/os

Cause there is nothing that cool lol. I've been using AppStore for 2 years going now and still use it with my iPad. To me, the only thing the AppStore does better are the games. That's expected because they have been out longer. I have yet to try any android games so I could be wrong. Most of appstore apps are gimmicks and a waste of space. They do have a good selection of very good programs, as does the android store. Android store also has more free programs that are better I've noticed. Even the great programs that cost money are cheap. The biggest thing is that you can refund within 24 hours on the android store.
This is a personal preference. I like good useful programs where I wont delete it 5 mins later. Now I think about it, most of the apps I used on the iphone and iPad now are from Cydia.
what is a "cool app" for you? once you can define it as a boolean string you'll be all set.
until then its not unlike the iphone store...tens of thousands of apps. of that a huge number are redundant and or outdated. a good chunk are crap or useless. that leaves a bunch of needles in the haystack.
1) try a site like appbrain.com or apps.androidtapp.com (they may provide better search options)
2) do some google searches for "top EVO apps" or "Best Android apps" etc. that helped me quite a bit.
what is cool to one person is irrelevant crap to another.

I never blamed Android for the lack of apps situation. Where did I do that? I said I was disappointed with the Marketplace. At no time did I say, "I'm upset with Android and Google for not having any cool apps."
What do I want in apps? I dunno. I've never owned an iPhone so I'm not sure exactly what's out there....except I've heard that EVERYTHING is out there.
A couple of things missing off the top of my head:
Kevin's Smith app
Redbox
Blockbuster
The rest, I guess, is just cool stuff...whatever that may be. How about some nice apps for alcoholic beverages? The ones I've found (from the user reviews) don't seem that great. Again, I haven't tried them but if most people say an app isn't very good, I tend to believe it.
How about an app for cooking recipes? How about a great music player (which I haven't found yet, but MixZing seems to be pretty decent)? How about an app that compares prices?
Shazam (a music program) is supposed to be on Android. It's not. It looks like they pulled it, even though their web site advertises it.
The thing is, I don't know what app I need until I see it. I've never experienced it, so I don't know what I'm missing. *shrug* I just know I must be missing SOMEthing, based on everything I've ever heard or read about Apple's store.
On the subject of voice to text...what's a good app for that? Why can I not get something up to par with what iPhone has? Or can I?
There is a redbox app. Google shopper would be good for prices i think. Blockbuster is about to go out of business anyway lol. Shazam is definitely there because i just searched and it showed up. vlingo voice is a good voice to text even though android has that pretty much built in already. The music player that comes with the evo is good enough for me so idk about the others. Whats the kevin smith app?
I'd like to know where the free Redbox app came from. It wasn't there on my device a while ago. I just downloaded it.
Shazam is now showing up for me and I've done multiple searches over the past day for this thing. It's downloading as well.
The Kevin Smith app is found here: http://www.denvog.com/iphone/KevinSmith/index.html

shazam has been there since last year or longer because i bought the hero when it came out last october and had shazam. just give it time. the "cool" apps will show up
Not sure what you mean by voice to text app
Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are asking. Voice to text is part of the android 2.1 operating system. When you hit the microphone it will put text into whatever you are using such as an e-mail or a text message. There is no need for an app for it as it is built into the operating system
Voice to text? Already supported out of the box.
However, you can get Vlingo from the marketplace. It costs quite a bit, but if you're a dedicated voice user, it can be good for you.
You have to look around. Google is your friend.
What do you want? Cool games?
Hungry Shark, Raging Thunder II, Exzeus Arcade, Slimeball Speedway, Tiki Towers, Caligo Chaser, and Gameboid are just some I can think of off the top of my head. Gameboid will multiply those games because of ROMS.
A PSx emulator is in the works by the same developer.
Google's apps themselves impressed a lot of people that I showed my phone to.
Google Sky Map, Google Goggles, Google Earth, Google Maps, etc.
Other free apps that are top knotch:
Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, Shazam, Barcode Scanner, LED Light, Handcent SMS, TV.com (awesome cbs shows right there!).
Ringdroid (make ringtones ON YOUR PHONE), QIK video chat, Fring (for skype).
There are also apps where you can download backgrounds and ringtones from a wide variety.
So... just look around. Google helps.
And lastly, a lot of developers are looking into developing for Android. With all the new Android phones and Android users, things are working out well for its marketplace. For example, with the release of the HTC Evo... former palm pre, blackberry, and winmo users came. Hardly any people moved from android to android in that case.
Pretty much all of those apps you listed I have installed on my Evo via the Market.
patelkedar91 started a great list but here's a list of my favorite apps
acv - comic viewing app if you have downloaded comics(reads cbr files!)
doubletwist - media app that plays music and video, also has a matching desktop client for syncing your android phone, much like itunes to the iphone
epicurious - recipe app
fxcamera - camera app that has some awesome built in effects
layar - augmented reality app that shows points of interest through the camera
urbanspoon - can't decide on where to eat? just set preferences and shake to get a restaurant
Photoshop.com Mobile - basic photo editing app
transdroid - app to control torrent clients from your phone, including adding torrents
zombie, run! - one of the funnest apps on my phone, uses gps location to simulate a zombie apocalypse. shows zombies as red dots and you have to avoid them and make it to a location you set, makes biking to school a lot more interesting
there's a lot more, keep looking and lurk these forums like crazy. good "cool" apps are recommended here a lot
I don't even understand the point of this post. You didn't have an iPhone, but just 'hear' that it had it lots of cool apps. Then come to Android just looking for random 'cool' apps but can't articulate what you are looking for. Sure, the iPhone had 65 different fart apps, so it has an advantage there.
I had the iPhone 3G, then 3GS, then went to the Droid and now the EVO. I don't have a ton of apps, but I use quite a few. When I moved to the Droid in November, there were only two apps that I had with the iPhone that weren't available on the Android Market; SlingPlayer and Alarm.com. Both of those have since been released on the Market too.
Shazam has been available the whole time except for some reason that it disappeared a week or so ago. Music player? Well, Android has one built in and the EVO has HTC's version. On the Market, there is Mixzing and DoubleTwist. Blockbuster? Who friggin cares. Blockbuster will be out of business before long and Netflix is better anyway. The Netflix app is coming soon to Android.
I will admit that the games were a bit better on the iPhone, but outside of that I don't miss anything about the iPhone or the App Store.
Android Market has been growing with an average app submission of 10,000 per month. Whether this figure is the actual number finally ending up in the Android Market is unknown.
I wanted to create a list of Apps that I just cannot live without. I put my finger on them at least once every hour and sometimes even more.
The silent geniuses of this world, who mostly reside here at XDA Developers and elsewhere have made some wonderful innovations which just hits your technological G spot.
I have compiled a list of just few of the apps, with descriptions adapted/adopted from others who have done the hard work.
1. SWYPE
Swype is a quicker way for you express the love or hatred (or BOTH) for your girlfriend. The format of swyping yours words is second only to the keyboard, as stated by the developers. I use it on a daily basis and it is probably the one of the best app around as it makes an already simple task further simpler.
2. Advanced Task Killer
Lets be serious guys and gyals, we as humans (animals) have the tendency to want more whether we need them or not, so we have lots of apps on our phones. The task killer just clears up the apps that take up our precious memory including itself. Simple, no more explanations.
3. Dataviz Documents To Go
DTG will let you view, edit and create Microsoft Office documents and view PDF files. You also get a full suite of formatting tools and a word counter. Its Microsoft Office on your Mobile Device...Simple. It works just great. It takes a bit getting used to as even though the options are available it will be while before you can use it with the same ease as on your PC/ Laptop.
4. Beeb Player
It is the BBC iPlayer on your Android Machine. There might be other apps which offer the same service but none as easily as the Beeb Player. I spend many nights catching up on my comedies from BBC. Not even BBC could make one as good as the Beeb Player (Hint Hint)
5. ASTRO File Manager
Makes your phone feel like a computer, and makes you feel like you're in charge of it. You can use it to install APK onto your phone as it also acts as an app installer. It opens up your phone to give you more of a view of where things are so you could browse for that file you downloaded but just have forgotten to install it..
6. Extended Controls
This app builds on the existing controls feature. It gives you more options which you would want to have in the home screen. The app/widget can be customised according to your preference. Just pretty!!
7. Beautiful Widgets
Beautiful Widgets is a set of widgets that run on the mobile Android platform. It comes with skin able clocks where developers submit their own themes. Choose modes/ themes according to your mood. Now with Live Animated Weather..nice!!
8. Angry Birds (Game)
"The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds’ eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles."
How can these words not get you into your castle storming mood and just throw chickens at pigs (crazy i know)...the game should be called Crazy Birds, well that's just me...
9. Twitter for Android
There might be a few more Twitter apps but i just prefer the originals. Spend a lot of time running my business through twitter. Among my many famous conquests on Twitter are Lisa Ann (The Pornstar) Tiya Sircar (Vampire Diaries) Conan O'Brien...

This is my first thread and I hope to better my skills in future threads.
Peace guys and gyals and keep safe.

This thread is filling with some great app and also a bunch of game recommendations.
When / if / as I have the time to do so i'll start moving things back up to this first posting. I'll maybe get some here and there, or a chunk at one shot, or whatever.
Meantime, or as usual, browse through the thread and find hidden treasure in all the replies
(end added october 7th, 2011)
So what do you all like to run on your phone?
I'll kickstart it off with some things I use, tell me what you like so I can see what i'm missing!
-File Expert - Free - Geek Software Technology Inc.
-Dual File Manager XT - Free - Medieval Software
-Root Explorer - Paid - Speed Software
File expert I keep for the FTP/web server capabilities. I use it or Root explorer back and forth. I like Root explorer better, I couldn't edit the keylayout file with File Expert. Dual file manager makes it so easy to copy things around I keep using it - call me lazy on that one but it works well.
-Android Terminal Emulator - Free - Jack Palevich
-Absolute System (Root Tools) - Paid - canvs2321
Fantastic suite of tools for use after root.
-Android Music - Free - JRTStudio
I love it more then other music players, call me old fashioned but i'm just used to this one. Simple, easy, no extra BS to worry about.
-Mobo Player - Free - Mobo Team
Simple, easy to use, and supports .avi files amongst others. My favorite video player.
-Realcalc -Free/Paid - Quartic Software
Superior calculator. I use the donate version - the doubleshot stock calculator is garbage, I was not very happy with it. I'd already been using this one before getting the doubleshot, so swapped it right in.
-ezPDF Reader - Paid - Unidocs Inc.
-Scan to PDF - Paid - Nym Computing
-Open Signal Maps - Free - Staircase 3, Inc.
This one shows me all the cell towers I connect to, and maps them out for me. Other handy stuff in it, it works well and I use it all the time.
-XDA Premium - you should probably have this by now if you're reading this here.
What are you all playing with?
I'll add to this list:
SweetHome Image Upload - kinda like Google+ Instant Upload for pictures, except it uploads to my local PC instead of into the Google+ cloud, as soon as I connect to my home network.
Tasker - great app to automate almost anything
RemoteLauncher - Allows you to launch programs on your PC remotely from your phone, I use this in combination with Tasker to automate things, ie. when I'm connected to my home network, I trigger the Windows Start Menu, so that my monitor will wake up from sleep mode. This way, I don't have to move the mouse or start typing on my keyboard to get my monitor to wake up (yes, I know, I'm lazy).
XBMC Remote - if you aren't already using XBMC (www.xbmc.org) to play/browse your media, stop reading this, download it now, and thank me later! XBMC is the slickest media centre software I've seen, and the official remote app for Android is pretty nice too.
If you came to this thread from the bloat removal thread, then here are my suggestions: (some from my first post above, again, but with links this time. I'm tired of typing now and don't feel like editing it at the moment.)
1 - Stock Browser = Opera Mobile
2 - Stock Gallery App = Gallery3D - I really like the version of this app found in the Nook Color (encore) version of CM7 (latest stable release)
3 - Stock Notes App = ColorNote
4 - Stock Polaris Office = Documents to Go 3.0 + Paid Unlock ( expensive, I know, but worth it - I do a ton of office stuff for work on this phone, and this app is fantastic. You may want to keep the stock office app. )
5 - Stock Music Player = Android Music
6 - Stock Calculator = Realcalc - not even a question here. Donate is worth it to me, because I do a lot of conversions. Free version is awesome too.
I am pissed about the stock calculator app we get on this device. This is an expensive phone, practically the best piece of hardware money can buy, and our stock calculator doesn't even fit the numbers on the buttons right...really? WTF HTC - bad, bad form. (Alternatively, IF you replace it right, the stock app from the encore version of CM7 is pretty awesome - simple, elegant, fits the screen very nicely.)
Elixer is the only thing you'll need if you're missing any of the widgets you lost in dropping the sense launcher - really. Fantastic app.
and last but not least Digitally Imported is more up my alley as far as radio goes, especially when i'm sitting around on the computer. It's just continuous mellow background noise...but the radio thing is all a matter of personal taste anyways.
So what do the rest of you have to say as far as apps for this thing?
My eyes have been opened to Opera Mobile, now a must have on my phone.
I guess besides that, I don't really have any apps I absolutely need on my phone.
As for the calculator, Algeo is pretty awesome.
New list, see post #33
What about games? I'm on the bus a lot so it would be nice to have something that I can pass the time with.
Homerun Battle...best game ever!
Sweet. Anything else? All I have so far is Robo Defense and Pocket Soccer. I'm not used to having games on my phone hahaha
I just got this game called third blade today.. It's pretty awesome so far.

+1 for third blade
Third blade is pretty sweet. good call
Wow been missing out on Opera Mobile!
How does Opera Mobile compare to Dolphin HD?
Games?
If you like tower defense...
In the pre-selected path way of playing:
Sentinel 3 just came out on Android. The sentinel 1 & 2 games on my iPod Touch were simply amazing, and were the one thing I missed the most when it broke.
Now that the game dev. ported it to Android, and brought a whole new version, there's really no other tower defense game that can top it. Our device really makes it shine, because of the TV out. If you play this game through your device on a TV, you will be blown away.
I've been playing it for a few days now, and it's freakin' amazing. Everything I missed and so much more.
Also, GRave Defense HD is a great tower defense game. It was the best one of this type on the market until Sentinel was ported. ( In my opinion...)
In the open-field type of play:
Robo Defense as mentioned above is pretty good, and Fieldrunners HD isn't bad either.
Still think Sentinel is the cream of the crop, though.
For games, generally:
Samurai 2 is absolutely fantastic, and has been updated to work with the sensation, which is basically our phone. Great game, plays well on the phone, looks and plays like a console game when hooked up to the TV off the phone.
I've had people call me a liar to my face that the game was playing on the TV through my phone, even though they were watching me do it - it's that good.
Guerrilla Bob is a pretty fun game, and a good one to waste time on. It's well made and good fun, also on a half off sale right now so probably a good time to pick it up.
The two games by Mika Mobile are good too:
Zombieville USA is a side-scroller where you just shoot up a whole bunch of zombies. If you liked Guerrilla Bob, then you'll like this one too.
Battleheart is a pretty nicely done RPG type game, take a look at it if this kind of game is fun for you.
Also, some old favorites:
Jet Car Stunts is an old favorite, i'm sure everyone knows what this is by now...if not click the link and come out of your cave! lol...
Minisquadronand Minisquadron Special Edition are two old favorites of mine as well. Side-scrolling plane combat, with lots of planes to unlock and play with.
That should be a couple to get you started with, there are some others I play that I haven't listed yet - fighting for time on-line right now with all the stuff I have to get done off-line. I'll post up more when I get a chance.
try Pocket Legends, pretty rad

Not sure, honestly never looked. If you can't find it it probably doesn't exist.
Edit: http://www.origin8.com/android/sentinel3/ Here's the developers website about the game, might help you in deciding if you want it or not.
I knew the developers previous games - part 1 and 2 were my hands-down favorite games way back when on my iPod touch. I really, really wanted this game ported to android, and as soon as I saw it I just purchased it. Didn't read any reviews, or anything - just click, buy, play.
Game play is awesome, the difficulty levels are scaled right, and you get to choose from a whole mess of weapons to play with, shipboard weapons that can be used from an orbiting spacecraft (that's the limit of your interaction with it)...and a commander 'mech that you can move to specific points in the battlefield to help your cause.
'Mech can be upgraded between levels as the game progresses, and it has both campaign and 'endless' modes for each map.
Weapons can be upgraded to a few different levels in each combat scenario, and as you unlock things progressing through the campaign mode you really get some firepower to play with.
Very visually appealing game, and i've been playing it in any spare few minutes I can whip out my phone and go at it. Haven't had any force closes, discovered any bugs, or anything. Very well done.
Oh, and if you hit the home key or just exit the game, it saves right where you were when you left the app. Next time you run the game you can pick up right where you left off - perfect. You can just quit the game and do something else with your phone immediately or put it away and not lose any progress.
Remember, though, that this is a pre-path type tower defense game. That means the waves of enemies can only travel over specific areas of the map. Something like Fieldrunners or RoboDefense is a different type of game, where the whole map is a potential path for the enemies.
If you like tower defense games, and thought GRave Defense was a decent game, you'll be blown away by how awesome this one is. Grave Defense is the same type of pre-path tower defense game, so it's a good one to look at to kind of get a feel for what Sentinel is like.
If you were gonna burn $2 in the android market somewhere, and you like tower defense games, this is a good place to do it. You may end up hating the game, and if so i'm sorry. Try the free version of GRave Defense, and if you can get into it, take it to a whole other level with Sentinel.
In case you couldn't tell, this is my favorite android game. Lots of re-play value...especially with the endless modes.
Now if I could only find a port of my second favorite game from apples store, Alive-4-Ever...
+1 on Sentinel3...thanks for the recommendation Blue6IX, I agree with you, this game is by far the best playing and looking tower defense game I've tried..
Robotek is a great game.
Root Explorer is a must have.
Go SMS Pro
Since this is media phone I definitely recommend PicSay. Fun, fun, fun!
Friendcaster is better than the HTC facebook app or the official facebook app. If you spend time on facebook you should look at it.

I second PicSay, i've had a lot of fun with that one.
Toonpaint is fun to play with too - but don't expect it to work on every, or even most, pictures. After you play with it for a little while you'll figure out what pictures will probably convert, and how to take pictures that will convert well.
Toonpaint takes a lot of playing with it to get the results to come out good, so don't get it unless you have a high level of patience.
It's fun though, and if you play with PicSay, Toonpaint goes hand-in-hand to turn life into a comic. Toonpaint to generate the comic frame, and PicSay to put the word/thought bubbles into place.
Pho.to Lab is another fun one to play with, i've had a lot of fun with it and it's about the same ease of use as PicSay.
*******EDIT********
not sure if anyone is still following this thread but this app is now on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.mrgreaper2004.rpghelper3
it is still free, and its still with out adverts
I am now going to remove the attachement as ofcourse it is better to use the play store version which is much more uptodate
note to mods: since the app is out on play store if you feel its better to delate this thread (I'm a bit worried its almost like spam to just link to my app like this) then I totally understand.

Ok so this is my first post on this section and my first android app!
So what is "Rpg Helper 3" ?
Well its a character generator im working on for core D&D and similer games (the stats it rolls can be adapted to most rpg games) it contains a suite of generators that i have been working on for about 2 months, and will be expanding. The generators can be accessed seperatly as well.
Rpg helper 3 is your first one...ummm 3?
yep first android app, 1 and 2 were on the windows phone os, they are called "Rpg app (1st edition)" and "Rpg app (2nd edtion)" since im now an android owner i ported my app across, made the interface much sleeker (in my opinion) and progressed to add more content to it...this will be the app that gets future support and updates!
So if you need a quick npc, then this is for you, need to generate a quick tavern name and description, i got you covered, players asking what the bard is singing ...no problem, need a quick town description...yep. Player annoying you and you want a random fear to give him ...bingo
Want to export it as an html file ? yep
share the result via email? no problemo
(the very tired me recorded video of my app lol) - (fun drinking game, take a shot every time i say "umm" )
Known bugs:
The full sheet generator is generating more taverns and gangs then it should
When sharing via facebook it does not enter text in the post field (facebook dont allow it) but its copied to the clipboard for you so you can paste it in
lots of grammatical and spelling errors...i'll get to them
in plain text exporting of the full sheet some html code remains...yep working on it
What i ask of you :
feedback
do not decompile and use my methods!
do not share outside of XDA
When i get enough money to buy google play access (and the app is more mature) i plan on selling the app for about 50p on there (Prevously i tried the donation only approach and not a single user donated lol) but this version (possibly future versions versions too) will always be on here for free
This thread is a work in progress
UPDATE 21/06/2015
fixed surname bug
added dice roller function (its in its own separate page rather then in the generator)
24 downloads no replys,
Is there no market for this kind of app, or no interest in the app on this site?
is 4.4 too high as a start api for my app?
Were you one of the 24 downloaders? did you have issues installing? or running the app?
Works pretty good so far!

Cool
Couple of quick questions,
any of the generators you find yourself using more then the others?
what would you most like to see added?
Maybe a dice roller?

That is something i plan to add, though as a separate screen, the idea being you choose the dice to roll, the number of those dice and then outputted is each roll plus the total (the idea it would be useful for fireballs etc)
so yep that feature is coming, im just waiting for sufficent time to sit down and do some more coding (work is a nightmare at the minute).
With luck some others may also of tried it and dropped some feedback too by then
