Am I screwed - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

So I'm on 2.20, and I rooted earlier using the djrbliss method. I flashe TWRP 2.3.1.0 and tried to flash CM10. I saw that I have to flash the boot image first so I went to do that, but I can't mound my SD card anymore. Is there any way to fix that?

this has been asked a few times have a look around sorry not sure myself

Well I haven't found anything that has worked so far. The method Xs uses to fix "corrupted and unmountable" sd cards doesn't work. I try opening the cmd in there and it immediately closes. If anyone has any ideas, please share them.

I had the same issue with mounting SD in twrp when I rooted my first hox. However my PC still found the SD and asked me to format. I did a fat32 and copied my ROM to SD just fine.

I already tried that but I decided to try again and it worked. Thank you very much. One last question. Do I flash the boot.img before or after I flash the rom/gapps? Also, do I flash the boot.img in Fastboot USB or through recovery like the rom/gapps?

[Q] [RESOLVED] Is my phone bricked? Please help

Okay so today I was tinkering with my phone when I accidentally deleted a system file that was crucial. So I went to bootloader and wiped phone (I know that was the wrong thing to do, now). So I have no ROM on my phone. I was able to ADB the ROM I need to my phone on internal storage (not /sdcard) but the problem is whenever I try to flash it, I get the following error over and over in the code area in TWRP "E: failed to mount /sdcard (invalid argument). I've gone to the mount options screen and when I try to select sdcard nothing happens, I can't select it. If it's any help, the ROM I'm trying to flash has the official page here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223 and the ROM I was on before this whole thing is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868236 . Any help is greatly appreciated, I really need this phone fixed!
EDIT: Alright, so I flashed stock recovery, relocked, and then used my friend's PC (thanks man!) and now my phone is in perfect working condition. Just re-rooted and re-unlocked the bootloader in like 10 minutes, which is funny because it took me like an hour and a half the first time. Anyways, thank you to all the users on this forum for helping me. Appreciate it!
NEVER Factory Reset or Clear Storage from bootloader it'll screw up your storage inside of twrp. I tried formatting storage afterwards in twrp and in windows and it still didn't help twrp see it. I ended up running the ruu again.
easiest thing to do is run the ruu again, reunlock bootloader, flash twrp and flash rom. then never factory reset or clear storage in bootloader again.
if you find another method let me.

Okay, sorry what what's the ruu and how do I run it again?
EDIT: So is the ruu the stock ROM? I've done some googling and it appears that it's something to do with exe file. I'm on a Mac, but I can get access to a PC if it's necessary.

And youll have to learn some simple adb commands tto relock your bootloader..or it won't work someone correct me if wrong
Hi guys yep you'll need to do some adb work to relock for ruu. However... if you still have recovery? You could try flashing a clean ROM. Then flash the cm10 over that. Of course youll need to delete cache,s before flashing cm10. I'd give that a shot first.
(Edit) I just noticed you having the mount issue also... ignore that. Just check you PC it should still show up. And it may ask you to format the drive? Your OK to do that fat32.

Easiest way to fix is to connect phone to pc, then select mount, mount usb in twrp and windows will prompt you to format.
Then once that is done you can copy your rom of choice across unmount and flash.

Twrp is known for having mount issue. I'm tell in ya if you USB to PC it will still find the SD as long as you have the HTC drivers installed. Unless your twrp is gone? Then you need to ruu.

Can't reboot to recovery..please help!

Alright this might sound dumb but i am a new noob at this. Anyway, i flashed AOKP rom build 4 through CWM recovery and was rockin that for a lil. Then decided to run ViperXL which i flashed through TWR because it couldn't flash through CWM? It requried me to install TWR and Aroma. Now when i tried to go reflash AOKP, something went wrong. After i factory reseted, wiped caches and reflashed the ROM, my phone rebooted fine. BUT, the "upgrading" message kept coming on a few more times after that then it would reboot everytime. My phone kep crashing after this. I couldnt do anything with the phone after this. So i rebooted to bootloader and tried to go on recovery through there to try and re-flash AOKP but i couldnt reboot to recovery, it would just stay on the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen and do nothing. So i rebooted again to bootloader and factory reseted and it rebooted to homescreen and ViperXL was still flashed. Im pretty confused on what happened and i need help. My phone is working fine with ViperXL but i lost everything on my SD card, all my backups and roms. Can someone tell me what is going on? The story sounds confusing but if you can understand please help.

thank you, just did that and now twrp is running well. but yea cwm was good for me, until i started using twrp.
CWM was not properly ported to the OneXL. People kept having their sd cards wiped for no reason. Stick with twrp.. it's awesome. And I'm not sure what you did the factory reset in. If you facto reset in twrp you'll be fine as it doesn't touch the sd card. If you facto reset in bootloader it completely wipes your phone and sd card. Don't do that lol.

Why not? TWRP can mount sd as mass storage. When you done that put boot.img somewhere easy to get at and use All-In-One Toolkit to flash it but the Toolkit calls it kernel so use that part to do it.

s-off!!! After you ruu before reunlocking or anything are you still bootlooping? I have had that happen before, I fixed it once with a factory reset in bootloader. Make sure you only do factory reset in bootloader completely stock or you will corrupt sdcard. Running "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot after flashing custom recovery or even stock could help, i always run this command anytime i flash something in fastboot. When flashing a custom rom make sure to do full wipes, i always go to advcanced in wipe tab and select everything except sdcard.

You need to slow down and do some research before trying all this stuff which you have no clue about. You're on a fast track to actually bricking your phone. All you need to do is install a ROM in recovery, reboot to bootloader, flash the boot.img from the ROM via fastboot and reboot into the ROM. That's all you needed to do from the very beginning because you're s-on. Unfortunately the people who were trying to help you didn't identify this and kinda sent you on a wild goose chase

You should be able to just Google adb/fastboot. The traditional way is to download the Android SDK and get it from there but that's a huge download. I know there are sources which will supply you with just adb and fastboot but I can't remember where.

Your boot.img is most likely fine, you just need to restore your system partition. Did you make a backup of your device using your custom recovery? If so, then you need to restore using that backup. Otherwise, I can provide a link to either my TWRP backup (not CWM compatible), an RUU, or my deodexed Rom. Your choice. First, if you already have a backup made up, then apply it. Otherwise, let me know.

I got it out of bootloop using CMW and flashing (K2CLCconversionN) rom but now i have nothing but that rom i had a backup but can't find it. I'm going to flash TWRP recovery and try to find a good rom that will work for (BOOST) K2CL, at this point i've had no luck. Thanks for trying to help me. do you know any got roms or links to one that will work.
Thanks

Just a pointer from someone who used to use CWM if you flash twrp recovery its a lot cleaner, with more options than CWM. since your going back stock I would recommend flashing twrp recovery in place of CWM

I had TWRP on before CWM but even when i would load that it would still bootloop thats why i used CWM. Just one question if i want to root it again without a system control app this time will i be able to use this exe file to restore it if it happens again. it took me a year before i tried it because the first time there was no roms and i bootlooped that HTC one SV and had to fork over $300.00 bucks for a new one but i figured that i would root it because of busybox.
Again Thanks...Your a life saver if this works.I'll let you know when i'm done

Its an ruu, an ruu is about as legit as you are going to get when it comes to restoring your phone. So yes, it will work . If your phone bootlooped when you flashed twrp in the past then my guess is that you either used the wrong fastboot commands and wrote it to another partition by accident, or you used a TWRP that was not presumably built for your phone and thus used another TWRP designed for another device.

If you are about to do something to your phone, make sure you know exactly what you are doing, why you are doing it, how it works, why it works, should I make a mistake what are my escape routes, and if all else fails - plan B. If none of these are set to mind then I recommend you do absolutely nothing to your phone until you actually understand its method.

In lamen terms, if you cannot stand in front of a class and teach them the concept behind the madness then you yourself probably shouldn't be dancing on thin ice either because you may sink and drown
Dont hesitate to ask a question on here before proceeding further if there is something you do not fully understand.

Bootloader must be unlocked if you are S-On.

Thank you for everything. This is forth phone I've rooted a phone. First three where easy : evo 4g, galaxy 3s, galaxy prevail. But this was tricky not as many rims out there for it. Again thank you. Now that I fixed it I'm going root it again just no system tweaking apps for me
Hi, So i just bought this device and I've looked all over the internet to root my htc one sv on BOOST mobile. I unlocked the bootloader but then must have been following the wrong guide and flashed a wrong recovery or something. I can boot just not into recovery, it gets stuck "entering recovery". Does anyone know a recent and more updated way to root this device?! Thank you so much in advance!
