Alright this might sound dumb but i am a new noob at this. Anyway, i flashed AOKP rom build 4 through CWM recovery and was rockin that for a lil. Then decided to run ViperXL which i flashed through TWR because it couldn't flash through CWM? It requried me to install TWR and Aroma. Now when i tried to go reflash AOKP, something went wrong. After i factory reseted, wiped caches and reflashed the ROM, my phone rebooted fine. BUT, the "upgrading" message kept coming on a few more times after that then it would reboot everytime. My phone kep crashing after this. I couldnt do anything with the phone after this. So i rebooted to bootloader and tried to go on recovery through there to try and re-flash AOKP but i couldnt reboot to recovery, it would just stay on the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen and do nothing. So i rebooted again to bootloader and factory reseted and it rebooted to homescreen and ViperXL was still flashed. Im pretty confused on what happened and i need help. My phone is working fine with ViperXL but i lost everything on my SD card, all my backups and roms. Can someone tell me what is going on? The story sounds confusing but if you can understand please help.
You'll need to flash a new recovery image through adb. I would recommend using twrp. I was a big fan of cwm until I got my hox. Twrp is much more stable.

thank you, just did that and now twrp is running well. but yea cwm was good for me, until i started using twrp.
CWM was not properly ported to the OneXL. People kept having their sd cards wiped for no reason. Stick with twrp.. it's awesome. And I'm not sure what you did the factory reset in. If you facto reset in twrp you'll be fine as it doesn't touch the sd card. If you facto reset in bootloader it completely wipes your phone and sd card. Don't do that lol.

Well I haven't found anything that has worked so far. The method Xs uses to fix "corrupted and unmountable" sd cards doesn't work. I try opening the cmd in there and it immediately closes. If anyone has any ideas, please share them.

I wiped the internal and did a factory reset and the phone hangs at the boot startup animation. What do I do to get it to boot up?
running sky ics with twrp. I can get it into twrp no problem but it looks like the backups are gone unless they are on the external sd that i removed which is the only thing I havent looked at yet. I did all this because I sold the phone and needed to wipe everything.
Thanks!
So no help huh?

Did my best and some quality searching but couldn't find any answers.
I have a rooted ATT One X with ClockworkMod Recovery.
On my device ready to flash I have the CM10 Evita 10 stable rom, GAPPS, and some super user app.
Every time I try and flash CM10, it successfully installs but hangs on the initial boot. I've waited more than 40 minutes with no luck, just constant spinning/loading.
Following numerous guides I have wiped data, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, and battery status with no luck. I tried with and without the GAPPS and tried reflashing almost 5 times now with the same result.
What should I try next? Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.
I'm sure everyone's first instinct is to tell you that you just made an expensive paper weight. Even though we all know its a lie. There are several discussions about CWM not supporting the Evita.
So my first question to make sure we don't lead you a stray.
Is your phone a international Onex with The quad core or do you have the one xl or att Onex with the dual core processor?
[Edit] see you stated the att one x.
Next step is to flash a proper recovery twrp is the one you want. And unfortunately cwm has corrupt your SD card so you'll need to format that also

Use that link I sent for twrp recovery.
In fast boot you'll need to erase cache. And push twrp via adb.
Once that is done twrp will NOT mount SD card. However your PC should still find and ask to format. You'll need to format.
Now that way you might loose any backups. So if you want stock on there? I'd ruu back to stock and start from scratch.

CWM should not be used on the AT&T One X, in your case or anyone else's.
CWM was never meant to run on our device, and is just a port. The CWM team doesn't support our device. Due to this, CWM has some known serious issues. TWRP is the only recovery that should be used on the AT&T One X (or other carrier Snapdragon One X/XL variants).

Echo what the others said about TWRP being the only recovery you can use. Once you sort out re-formatting your internal SD, follow the instructions below to flash CM10 once your phone is rooted w/ unlocked bootloader, IF your hboot version is >1.09. If your hboot is 1.09 or lower, you should be able to flash the ROM directly through TWRP without additional steps.
Download and set up adb and fastboot on your PC.
Extract the ROM file, copy the boot.img file and put it in your fastboot folder.
Wipe
In fastboot enter 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
Flash the ROM+GApps
You should be good to go.
There is a one click installer available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1962428
Guide to installing adb/fastboot here: http://dottech.org/21534/how-to-ins...ows-computer-for-use-with-your-android-phone/
Hope this helps. The basic issue with some hboot versions is that it prevents a ROM's kernel from being flashed normally, so you have to manually flash the boot.img from the ROM. Also remember that if you ever switch to a different or stock ROM, you will once again have to flash the boot.img from that particular ROM.
I rooted on HTC ONE SV
Moonshine s-off
k2cl
Boost mobile
everything was fine till i installed a apk to control system settings then it went into boot loop
i've "adb flashed boot.img from a boost rom and sideloaded it threw CMWrecovery.
It's been flashing system for an hour and a half.
is there a boot, recovery and rom that will fix this problem, even if its stock.
all keep seeing is the recovery and boot.img
i want to put everything back the way it was stock or not
WHAT SHOULD I DID I'M AT A LOSS !!!
Please Help, Thanks in advance

Your boot.img is most likely fine, you just need to restore your system partition. Did you make a backup of your device using your custom recovery? If so, then you need to restore using that backup. Otherwise, I can provide a link to either my TWRP backup (not CWM compatible), an RUU, or my deodexed Rom. Your choice. First, if you already have a backup made up, then apply it. Otherwise, let me know.

Its an ruu, an ruu is about as legit as you are going to get when it comes to restoring your phone. So yes, it will work . If your phone bootlooped when you flashed twrp in the past then my guess is that you either used the wrong fastboot commands and wrote it to another partition by accident, or you used a TWRP that was not presumably built for your phone and thus used another TWRP designed for another device.

If you are about to do something to your phone, make sure you know exactly what you are doing, why you are doing it, how it works, why it works, should I make a mistake what are my escape routes, and if all else fails - plan B. If none of these are set to mind then I recommend you do absolutely nothing to your phone until you actually understand its method.

Dude! Thank you so much! It worked!
So it's been a long time since ive had a rooted htc device, where can I start on the basics of what I can and cannot flash/ do to my specifi htc on sv on boost?
So I took one wrong turn and bricked my htc one x.
It was in a restart loop, and I hadn't changed anything before that. I let it restart on charge for a couple of days hopefully it works one time (it did once but happened again the next time I shut it off)
So I had no luck with that, so I backed up all my data with twrp. I went to wipe and I accidentally pressed "system" too.
Now the phone only gives me the bootloader and not even twrp.

Luckily you're not even close to being bricked, all you've done is wipe the system. That's easily fixed by flashing a ROM again, you're s-on so don't forget to flash the boot.img with fastboot afterwards. Check out the Evita FAQ thread and the How-To Guide For Beginners thread in my signature, you'll find them really valuable. I'd also strongly suggest you get s-off, it's very easy and is pretty much a necessity these days.

So I flash twrp again, then install a rom? Does it have to be the original or can I go custom at this point?
Recovery depends on the ROM type. Some Roms require a fstab or selinux, and sometimes a modded recovery . Always read the Roms o.p..

Did you read the How-To Guide For Beginners thread like I suggested? It contains detailed instructions on anything you need to do right now (flashing recovery, ROM, boot.img). You might as well use the latest TWRP recovery (2.7.1.0), as it should flash anything. You'll find it here:

As long as you have TWRP recovery installed, you can flash any ROM you like, as long as it's for this device of course.
