Hi.
As you might know Google has recently updated stock calendar app. My nexus one ( Gingerbread) nexus 7(JB) received the update without an issue but somehow my Infinity still insists not updating the app. Is there anything I could do? I just don't want to install from Google Play separately.

I'm not sure if I got it either. What is the version number for the new Calendar app?
Google 'Google Calendar apk' and install through the Browser instead of the play store app

You can just "disable" the original Calendar app in Settings->Apps. I've done exactly that - now, only the new Google calendar shows up...

Link might not work for your country but hey, I tried.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.googlevoice
Google Voice is blocked by Google from installing/appearing on the market for the Transformer.
You're going to have to install it on your phone, and extract the apk and install it manually.
EDIT: Looks like that won't work, but found this thread:

Dang, thanks guys!

I'm discovering this app and it seems to be a good alternative to folders. Have you tried it and what's your opinion ?

I purchased it a while ago and thought it was alright. Its nice for cleaning up your home screen but it gets annoying sometimes. I kind of like just having a select number of apps ready for me to click on instead of expanding the circle launcher widget then launching my app. I ended up refunding it.

I have yet another silly game as my free app in Amazon today. I do see a free "Lite" version though. Thanks for the tip, gonna try this out.
I use it on my EVO View 4G. Works well and doesn't seem to have a limit (within reason) to the number of apps you can include. I prefer ICS folders, when available, though.

With ICS's ability to make folders anywhere, even in docks, I'm pretty good with stock.
I'd love it if I could find a launcher that has one feature from Blur that I use extensively - a folder in the apps drawer that lists apps in order of usage, called Frequently Used. Then, I'd be perfectly set.
Apparently the beta has been released in google play now. Is it compatible/ optimised for the play?

My mistake, just seen it's only for Tegra 3 devices at the moment. My apologies

Im testing with chainfire3d, maybe they have the xperia play controls in the code... Who knows...
Edit: i cant get it working :s, would be better to wait to official news...

On Google Play obviously.
It says:
'At the moment, the Beta version is available only for those with Tegra 3 devices'
Maybe that means it will come to others later?
Tried it on my n7. Its awesome so far.
Has support for a controller, so does that mean its likely to support Xperia PLAY controls?
Dont think so.

I tried installing the new Google Hangouts and it tells me that it is not available for the Note 8! Any ideas why?

Mine says it is installed on my device from the web play store, but it is the Google Talk app. i can't delete Google Talk to see if re-installing the app would work (non-rooted.) Strange.

Google hasn't released a tablet version of Hangouts yet. It will be coming soon though.

Google Talk turns into hangouts after install. I just downloaded the apk from the Web. But I see a download link on xda as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41473448
Note after I installed the apk, it still had a Google Talk icon. But it turned into a hangouts icon overnight.

I'm using an Archos G9 and all I had to do yesterday was sideload the APK from a mirror (not the Play Store link) and as soon as I finished installing it, it was updated from Talk to Hangouts. So if my crappy G9 can get it, you should be able to get it on that fly-ass N8 of yours! Best of luck!

Just got the update notice and installed.
It seems like Amazon Prime Music does not work with this phone as the app in the Playstore says it is not compatible. Does anyone have this app working on their 1+1? If so, which version and if you can kindly post a link to where one can download it?
Thanks.
You can download it using the Amazon app store

PAPB0007 is correct. I got my GF a OPO also and had to install the amazon app store and then download it from there. I can confirm it opens and loads just fine also.
Since OP changed the One product name (or the other string, I dont remember), you can no longer install it from google.
It used to be possible before.
Same problem than X-Com, but EA mobile fixed XCom in 10 days after my mail while Amazon just sent me "we sent the request to the team"
You could also install the Chrome extension: AKP downloader and follow the instructions. Then you can download any app APK from playstore (assuming you have purchased or it is free).
