I have been able to succesfully build my own ROM using the instructions in the Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android Development section, specifically the build instructions posted by iocerra.
Earlier this month Google pushed out a new Jelly Bean version 4.1.2 to aosp, and my build system automatically picked up the v4.1.2 source code. As a consequence I can build the ROM and install it on my tab using CyanogenMod but it no longer loads. I see the Galaxy Tab 7.7 logo and then a blank screen. No Boot logo shows up ..
I have been forced as a result to revert to an older version of the ROM that I created before 4.1.2 was pushed out.
Is any one experiencing the same problem? How can I fix this problem and how can I tweak the build process to stay with the jelly bean 4.1.1 branch if necessary? I am new to the build process and for now just want to familiarise myself with this before venturing out to testing other things.
btw I am using ubuntu 12.10 64 bit as my build machine.
thx

Hi guys,
I've tried and tried, but whatever I do with TWRP/CWM recovery, whether it be full wipes etc, I can't seem to be able to get CM10 to boot.
Was previously running 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, and from what I can gather, CM10 should be compatible according to the latest nightly builds. I'm using the latest TF300T nightly build from get.cm.
Every time I flash CM10, I get stuck at the non-animated Asus screen with it stating "This device is UnLocked", the Asus logo, and also has the Nvidia Tegra stuff on the bottom right.
Can never get past this point with any Cyanogen Mod build. Back to normal and working condition with a wipe and flash of rooted JB 4.1.1.
Please help me, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I'm kind of new to android but should be able to handle some technical jargon
Cheers guys,
Axeon

No where in that thread does it say it's compatible, in fact it says the opposite at least 64 times. Not compatible once you're on the jellybean official

Hello guys
I have an HTC One Mini 601E, and today I've try to install Android Kitkat 4.4.2 via CyanogenMod ( by following the procedure on ibtimes, update-htc-one-mini-android-4-4-2-kitkat-via-cyanogenmod-11-rom-1433685 [sorry it seams I cannot post any link as new member...]) so I rooted the phone, installed SuperSU and installed a recovery mod and everything necessary but after trying to install the zip "Android 4.4.2 KitKat Cyanogenmod 11 ROM" few time and with first ClockworkMod and then also TWRP recovery tools I still get the same error : set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed" (Status 7). (even using recovery base Phil..)
I've try few things to try to solve it lbut still get the same error. So I'm wondering why and how I could resolve this. I'm thinking also that this phone is 601E and not 601S. I mean, this phone come from Taiwan, my girlfriend bought it for me but I'm in Australia actally. I know there is just a little difference about the baseband between these two model (601E and 601S). So I was wondering that maybe I need a different version of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat for my phone that come from Taiwan ? I don't know.. but actually I cannot do anything with my phone, when I turn it on I can see the logo HTC and then it reboot again. I can only access the fastboot menu and the recovery mod.
So my questions are :
- How could I successfully install this Android 4.4.2 KitKat Cyanogenmod 11 ROM on my phone ?
- And if it is just not possible or just not working, how can I come back to the previous Android OS that was installed before (Jelly bean) ?
I think to understand that I need a RUU m4 for my phone, I've found some on the website androidruu.com in the M4 RUU category) but I'm not sure if it is the right RUU file for my phone version.
I hope my phone is not broken and hope also to find some help here also sorry for my english is not perfect I hope it is enough clear
Thank you very much for any help.
Jona
I successfully installed another mod but based on Android 4.3, not 4.4 Kitkat. So it's ok
But if somebody know or have an idea about how I could install Android 4.4, I still interesting
Thank you
Hi,
I recently downloaded CWM 6.0.5.0 for my SM-G3858 running Jelly Bean. The thing is that when I flashed it I got a triangle (so it doesn´t work), then after a couple of seconds android´s stock recovery boots up. So no brick, but I wonder why CWM reco does not boot up for me. It works for another user but this user has an older samsung firmware installed. So I thought that the issue could be that I have a newer Samsung Firmware, as this CWM build was compiled from an older Samsung firmware source. But as far as I know a CWM build should work even tho the firmware has slightly changed (newer fw is still 4.2.2 Jelly Bean tho). So what could be the issue? Any ideas?
Sir,
You have already pointed in the right direction here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/errors-cm11-built-t3057271

hey guys, this is my first post and I’ve got a question.
Just yesterday I found my old tablet from when I was 12 years old, a Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 (the 8GB WiFi version, to be precise). I was kinda excited to find it, but then all that excitement went after I booted the device for the first time in 10 years. (yep, there was a reason I stopped using it). Android 4.2 jellybean was half corrupt on that tab. It boots ok, but system ui crashes and reloads itself when I unlock the device, and opening the gallery app just restarts the device. I want to reflash android 4.2 on the device to fix all the problems (I want the original android 4.2 OEM image, not cyanogenmod or an unofficial image), and also I might want to create a backup rom in case I want some old pictures or apps from the corrupt jellybean) Can someone provide a step by step guide on how to
1. root the device
2. make a backup
3. reflash the image (also send a link to the original android 4.2 WIFI rom
some extra info
Model number: gt-p3113
Build number: P3113UEUCMK3
All help will be appreciated
Update is the way you should take... Use SD card, the easiest way to update your old tab.. Google for the update file put it on SD card and start recovery, than take update option.
