all you needed to do was update super user and it would work...the su binaries are outdated on the rootdebugfs program.

I tryed that it would download them then fail to install it... superuser denied superuser superuser permissions. Either way I like supersu bettwr .

You shouldn't have to install su. If I were you I'd run through the root process again, and I mean redownload the files again and check for proper adb & driver setup.
Edit: Actually first open up super user and see if Rom manager has been allowed. Also, can you boot into recovery?

Superuser is blank nothing is there and I can not reboot in to recovery

Were you using the Three click root method or the manual ADB root method?
Sounds like you didn't fully root. I recommend you root again using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616
But before that to ensure you have adb setup, download and install this:

Download Busybox, install, reboot, then see if all is well.
I agree with getting busybox off the market, but that shouldn't stop you from getting CWR to install, but you may need it for other apps that require it. I had the exact same problems when I rooted and I just restarted my phone 3-4 times and it worked...
I tried busy box I tried everything I could think of

i always use this version of superoneclick and successfully root and unroot my device
do it as follows
root-reboot
unroot-reboot
check for successfully unrooting, by entering from a command prompt, adb shell and typing su command
Root checker saying you dont have root access and i think i unroot it properly and now there is no superuser app in my cell.
But root checker saying busybox is installed plz tell me how to remove that.

Choose "fix problem" or something like that in Titanium backup. It will install missing busybox.

it doesnt have a "fix problem" it just has "problem"? and it doesnt do anything to help. but i used root checker and it says busybox is installed correctly but when i go to check root access it says "root access is not properly configuered or was not granted. it also says SU binary not found or not operating properly... do you know what i am doing wrong??
Did you allow titanium backup root access when prompted ? You can check in Superuser.

No binary

So here is my situation.
I have the s4 with Verizon add my carrier. While it was still running 4.3 i rooted it. Then I obtained the pro version of supersu which comes with a root saver option which I took advantage of. I then updated to 4.4.2 and these are my results.
When opening supersu I get a message saying that they is no binary and when using root checker it says it is not properly rooted.
However there was a new program included with the ota update (lsis mobile wallet) that when opened says "this program does not work with rooted phones". Another odd thing is that I use tasker and one of the features that you are supposedly not able to use without root is turning on GPS. However before I updated I set up a profile that opened up GPS any time I turned on a program that required it. Now after the ota update it is still working.
Any suggestions as to how I can repair my root accesses?

OTA + root = (The survival feature is NOT guaranteed to work especially on stock roms)
I suppose you have no working custom recovery installed?
The thing I don't understand is why I still have root abilities and why the one program is saying it won't work because of root on the phone

You still have root access? Then just re-root using SuperSU...
As you're rooted you can install xposed frame work + the module "root cloak" to hide your root status and run apps blocked by root
Thanks

[Q] Need help with towelroot

I used towelroot on my galaxy s5, but I think I need to have cwm or twrp installed as well and I don't know how, I'm new at this. First time rooting a phone and I really need some help with this. I want to install custom roms. All I've done so far is get root access and downloaded apps like titanium and super user, but I honestly don't know what they are for. Any advice is much appreciated.
Ok first off have you checked to see if you have full root access by using a root checking app? if not try this one to check : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck . If you have full root access and you want to go straight ahead to flashing a recovery then download an app called Rom manager to flash CWM on your device (Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager ) then you choose the flash CWM and choose your phone modle. then it downloads and installs. after it tells you its installed then reboot in recovery either using the "reboot" button in the app or using the default button sequence. this is just to confirm CWM has installed properly. To use CWM you use your power button to confirm action or choose action, and volume keys to move around. once you confirmed CWM has been installed choose the "reboot" option

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have confirmed that it's rooted, and I tried the method you described to install cwm, but when it reboots it says error, invalid signature, or something like that. And then I just have to reboot like normal? Do you know what can be causing this problem?
Did you make sure you confirmed your phone model and let it install? like so?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes, I chose galaxy s5, it downloads, then I hit reboot, and it doesn't work.
First off have you granted superuser permissions to the app? thats probably the issue.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You might be right, how do I do this. Also the super user I downloaded asks me if I want to disable Knox, should I do this?
When you used towelroot wasnt superuser already installed as a part of the root procces?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No it wasn't
Hmm ok then hmm, dont disable knox and continue with the superuser app, try to post screenshots also, they help figure it out
