Choose "fix problem" or something like that in Titanium backup. It will install missing busybox.

it doesnt have a "fix problem" it just has "problem"? and it doesnt do anything to help. but i used root checker and it says busybox is installed correctly but when i go to check root access it says "root access is not properly configuered or was not granted. it also says SU binary not found or not operating properly... do you know what i am doing wrong??

Did you allow titanium backup root access when prompted ? You can check in Superuser.

I897UCKB1 root question

Hi everyone. I searched the forums and couldnt find an answer to this question.
My friend brought over his captivate to update on my PC (since his wouldnt recognize his Captivate). He was running rooted stock. I updated and he wanted to root again so we are trying to root using SuperOneClick v1.7. We run SuperOneClick and it says it was successful. Superuser is listed in the apps. Whenever we try to run a app that requires root access (Titanium Backup, Screen Shot IT) it was that they can not acquire root privileges. Can anyone tell me what we might be doing wrong? I appreciate any help.
Did you reboot after rooting?

Your phone is, unfortunately, likely broken with a hardware failure. Nothing to do with being rooted.
i know its not from being rooted, but i need to unroot it before i send it back to att
wireless
maybe connect to a pc via bluetooth or wireless.

Noone checks to see if rooted. Kill the battery and exchange

Have you tried a different USB cable to see if that is the cause?
Get Root explorer from the market or any app that can delete systems app. With root explore go to system/apps/ and delete superuser. Or get SGS tools.

that was the first thing i tried, the superuser icon still appears.
Does it still charge & just doesnt connect to computer or nothing at all?

its doesnt charge or connect
Is ur phone dead by now? You may be able to charge your battery out of the phone? Anyway I'd figure out a way to hide the super user icon, there has to be a way to do that. I doubt anyone would go beyond looking for superuser to determine rooted or not
I have returned at least 3 different rooted Android phones at the AT&T store and no one there cares. Just take it back and tell them it does not charge. The people at the retail store are not power users, they can barely tell you the difference between Android and IOS, do you think they know what Superuser means?

Did you bother to read the thread? He wants to unroot the phone so he can return it because it isn't charging.

i always use this version of superoneclick and successfully root and unroot my device
do it as follows
root-reboot
unroot-reboot
check for successfully unrooting, by entering from a command prompt, adb shell and typing su command
Root checker saying you dont have root access and i think i unroot it properly and now there is no superuser app in my cell.
But root checker saying busybox is installed plz tell me how to remove that.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA Premium App
With a Busybox installer app from the market. But you need root for IT.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App

Rooting Atrix 2 Problems

OK I am at a loss on what is going on with my Atrix 2. It was rooted and worked before i upgraded to OTA ICS AT&T. Now nothing is being granted any kind of permissions thru superuser. Even superuser. So for giggles i rooted again. I used A2root and everything it tried to do was either not found or I got permissions denied. I even downloaded a root checker and it says its not rooted????? How can this be. I am pretty new to this but i am quickly learning. Please help!!!!

[Q] Reroot?

Hey I'm pretty much a noob to Android.
When I first got my phone I rooted and installed cyanogenmod with pretty much no problems. Well that was a while ago and I was getting bored of the rom I had, I decided to change my rom to MIUI. Well the rom works fine superuser was still installed, so I tried running busybox and then got the message that Superuser denied busybox. I usually get the option to choose if I want to allow or deny an app with root access, but not this time. So basically I've been looking through google and some of the replies said I needed to reroot... Which I have no idea how to because I already have it "rooted".
I'm just confused because I got a root check app and it says im not rooted, The I got rootkeeper and the status said I was rooted and superuser is installed.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Miui is an overprotected ROM IMO. You have to go into various security apps to enable root access

Miui is already rooted. Superuser is not needed. LBE replaces it and handles all root access. delete superuser and let LBE do its thing.

Thanks a lot, I opened LBE Guard and allowed myself root access. So simple but lesson learned.
