I have been testing and Modding Android for some time now. I took a brief hiatus, and Now I'm back. I am curious if Samsung Trac phones, in my case the model is SCH-S720C. My question, to clarify is...Is there a forum for this Phone, Or will I have to download and Install The development Platform and root, and modify it That way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

Please use the "find your device" search box to look for device forums. If you would like to request that a device be added, you may use this thread.

Thats not a direct answer. I didn't find it in the forums, I searched it twice. This isn't my first time here on the site. I've done this quite a few times, Thats why I specifically stated, "I've done this before". All I needed was a logical answer. I'm not going to wait around and hope someone can get to it and keep searching to see if has been added that just adds frustration to my life. I'm looking for a simple answer, and judging by what I'm gathering the issue hasn't either come up yet, or Its not as valid as others. So I'll take it upon myself to Root and Modify this phone. Thank You.

You asked if there was a section for your device. I told you how to find one if there was and how to request one if there wasn't. I simply and directly answered your question. Your arrogant and snarky attitude is not welcome here. I suggest modifying that before continuing to post on XDA.

Please read through the forum before you post. Your question has probably already been answered.
We now have to wade through countless threads regarding SMS phonebook lookup, where can i get radio 4.16, etc.
I appreciate those who already take a little care.

This is the key here. If there was an easier way to do this.
My suggestion is start up a FAQ page|post.
With common and upto date news.
Especially the following I believe:
- Latest updates, and where to find or get them (eg ROM)
- SMS problem + patch.
- Un-locking technique (or is this against the rules?)
- hardware problems screen, serial, etc..
You can't stop people posting silly questions, without having the answers easily available.
I spend a lot of time on the madonion site for 3dmark. Yes overclockers and computer destroyers! Newcomers, beginners need to be led. You cannot tell them NO. Never tell somebody no, tell them other things...

Hi
Just my 2 pennies worth of comment:
I normally would try a Search for some keywords to get all the posts recently on the topic I am interested in. The search engine is very efficient and it shows you all the posts with that keyword. It can be a little tedious some times to read thru the threads for a topic which has been heavily debated. But the search mechanism is a good point to start for someone interested to get an answer quick as one doesn't have to wait for somebody to answer you especially when the info is already available elsewhere. An FAQ would be a fabulous addition though it would be lots of extra work for the site developer.
This forum is the best support for the xda available in the whole world and we should thank all those who made it possible. As the person with probably the most silly questions it is a great site to get help and I would like to give those guys sweating behind the screen a big thank you !!!
Cheers
Vic
Will do
Sounds fair enough. Thanks for the awesome site!
Was it really necessary to revive a thread that is almost eight years old? Most forums have FAQs and other stickies to help new users find what they need.

Wasn´t really necessary that you also replied on an old thread?

Calling all noobs!

Listen Up!! Not to sound rude but to all the noobs out there in the Atrix 2 forum PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the forums before posting!! We have had at least 10 different threads started by noobs to answer the same question. Please before you post use the search function or take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396650
If you still have a relevant question then try to find a thread that relates to you problem and then post it there. Once you have searched and looked at the noob guide, and haven't found ANYTHING that relates, then you may post a new thread.
Thank you for your time!
Also, Please just do a search even before posting in any thread. ONLY POST IF YOU CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING CLOSE ENOUGH TO FIX YOUR ISSUE. Most likely someone has seen your issue in here, we have seen things like the 2.3.6 update for over 2 months in here, from using cheesecake, and trust me, someone has already done it, or borked their phone in a similar way as you have.
I really don't want to see any more demands from people who messed up their phone and are demanding support. Remember YOU are the one that decided to hit that update button, or make that change on your phone, none of us forced you to do so.
I will ONLY tell everyone this, one time, just like lfaber06, I have had people demand things either in posts or PMs. The first time you make a demand from me is the last time I will ever read anything you post ever again, and good luck getting help from me after that.
Remember myself and lfaber06, and others here too, do these things in our free time, and do this at no cost to everyone here, and there are a ton of people in here as well, that most likely do similar things in their job, so, remember this, when you actually ask for help.
Although I agree with all you say, I think is better to spend time into actually developing android rather than persecuting n00bs,
XDA DEvelopers still remains about developers..

Asking for help

I have had a few people get down on me because i feel if someone has a answer, and they put more time and energy into telling you all the reasons why they shouldn't/can't help. It just seems down right mean. I thought these forums were a place of sharing and learning to help one and another. It just seems like it is becoming less of that as time progresses. not everyone here is a "Phone wiz" and that's why they come, seeking knowledge. So what if the question has been answered already? XDA is not a small web site in its infancy anymore. It has a lot of information to surf thru. All I am saying is you know the answer is a simple do this, or see this post would be great, instead of google it, or you need to look harder. Are people that full of themselves that they are to above everyone to help some noob out? Everyone was a noob at some point. My point is lets try to help each other instead of help ourselves only. There is a good saying I once heard, "watch who you step on , on your way to the top, because they won't be there to catch you when you fall". :highfive:
Many people help on this site.... All the time and everywhere. But the ones who find help easy are the ones who also try to to help themselves first. They research, search and do their best to find answers...and then they ask for help when they're stumped.
The ones that have trouble getting help, are the ones who log in...find a thread or make one, reading nothing, searching for nothing and ask for help.
XDA is about learning, and sharing work... It's not a quick stop tech support help desk. If someone can't put in an effort to read, read... And read some more before they decide to start messing with their expensive device... Then this is not the hobby for them.
Most experienced members can spot the difference quickly between the types I've mentioned, and they interact accordingly.
Also, the site has rules... And one particular rule is not followed as often as it should be unfortunately...... That would be rule number 1: Search before posting.
And so... I'm going to close this thread now, because I can guarantee this will not be a constructive discussion. :good:

[Completed] (Noob) Note 4 bricked USC (R4) Bricked/stuck ??

I believe a relative attempted to install via oden, A Verizon based module on this phone using odin. I am so unlearned about the android os that I do not know the terminology even to use here. Not complaints but just info, I am now victim to two arsons and thus homeless and rebuilding and so little time this is first chance I have had to post about this in some time.
I am not very adept at finding articles here so would appreciate any help any can provide.
I wish to and will learn all there is to know about Android some time in future and will master most of it except programing.
For now any help with any post or articles or what have you would be appreciated as well as any live help should someone so care to provide
You are welcome to PM or email me as well. [email protected].
If I am allowed to post this, I would consider paid help as well. If not allowed to post any part of this or if in wrong area, please help me correct my actions.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi,
Here is a thread on returning your device to stock with Odin, http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
And as far as wanting to learn about Android and the things found on XDA, my only advice is to read read read. There is a lot of info out there, just search on terms or procedures you are curious about and read through the search results.
For your device, you can start with this thread to learn more about it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-to-note-4-wip-t2939288
You can ask questions there as well!
Good luck!
Ty, Darth. Sorry for my noobness. I cannot seem to locate in the reccomended thereds, any thing about USCelluar phones or any link to any Rom, Kernal or what ever it is called. I do now know odin was improperly used and possibly a verizon upload was made to the phone and then on panic odin was ran and all possible options tried like flash tlock partition and any other options except pit.
I have not a clue where to start to fix it. I have been reading but if I seen any possible solutions, I missed them. Can someone please point me to some factory iriginal files for the USC NOTE 4 and some knowledge of how to use them? If some other files would work, where verizon or what have you, glad to try that to. The phone in question has never been on line or assigned any phone number since new. Not sure that matters. I do not mind messing it up further or experimenting to learn or help devs if any needed.
Thanks
Gh
I suggest then asking about your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/noob-friendly-question-t2866810
But I will tell you... Reading and research is a part of this hobby. Without doing a lot of that, people end up with big problems usually.
Here is the main note 4 section, I recommend reading through some of the sticky threads in the general and Q&A sections. Those are the threads at the top with a thumb tack symbol beside them. :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4
After you've read up and know a little more, then I'd worry about roms and whatnot. And any further questions can be asked in the first thread I linked in this post.
Good luck again!
I am confident in only big solutions. I thank you for your kindness and patience. I am only sorry that I do not know a rom from a kernal or a brick for now. I regret, I am not smart enough as well to follow the links so well or derive from then when I can. I do have unbreakable tenacity however and never lose a war due to it. The outcome for me is obvious but the time frame not so nice to me as I will not have time to read much for some months and now seek a quuick fix for a quick fix of feeling human again, for now. Any advise for a direct link to some adb and fast boot drivers? Seems this may be the sutipn and not odin for now. Seems I need to get what ever the file is called into the phone or files to recover to as mine goes to recovery every time but then losds the bum files it has stired. Would be nice to know how to idenify the files but all in good time.
You will need to ask in the threads provided. Xda Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.
If you have no time to read, and want things done quick, then I suggest to you that your heading down a risky path... And your device could suffer.
Also, XDA is a place to learn and share... Without doing your part here, meaning reading, you will have trouble getting people to help.
Thanks, and thread closed.

What am I missing?

So, lately I've been trying to find a use for this Verizon tablet. I currently just use it as a reader but I'd really like to just mess around with it a bit and learn how to Linux on tablet.
I can't seem to find any information on this particular device. I've tried a number of different ways and I always end up hitting a wall in the process. ...anyone got any info on how to root this Galaxy Tab E "sm-t378v".
Hint: Replace this thread's abolute meaningless title by "How to root SM-T378V" thus owners of such a tablet mainly get addressed.
...is that how helpful you need to be to become a senior member? If so I doubt I'll find what I need here.

You wouldn't get anything if you're here just for "What am I missing". If you know how to make a thread, you should know what you should write the title too right? He wasn't wrong.
As per check, there is no availability rooting that model, yet.
Great, thanks for the info. ...and now for my final question? Where is the delete account button on this website? I no longer want to be a member with such elitist people, it's pretty gross.

Well, you can find out yourself. Google is there to help you. Sadly, anyways. Good luck
