Home Screen Folder - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a HTC Evo 4g LTE, love it. I am able to make folders on my home screen containing Apps. I would like to do that with my Note but can't seem to see a way to do that. Anyone know how?

Long touch the screen, select folder, after that you just drag in it apps

Nice...Not as pretty as the HTC, but does what I need.
Thanks for the quick response.

Instead of folders I use circle launcher lite it is a app launcher that works with stock touch wiz that allows quite a bit of customization of it's interface appearence.

create a shorcut of the contacts, messages and phone on one of the screens, then long press and drag and drop on the menu in the order to replace the game icons.

No when you long press the shortcut the "remove" icon appears at the bottom,so it cant be dragged onto the menu, you can only remove the message icon on the desktop.

Change default buttons

I was curious if it was possible to change the default buttons at the bottom? I am talking about the phone, email, web and application buttons. I really just want to change the web one to be the browser I downloaded. I am rooted if that helps

Go into your app drawer, click and hold your browser that you want and drop it onto the spot you wanna put it. That should do it.

Nope that allows me to put it on one of my screens but when I go to move a apparently the 4 bottom buttons disappear and the trash can replaces them.

HELP! Tablet "Launch Bar"?

OK so one of the features Verizon went out of their way to promote with the new ICS update was the "launch bar". Obviously I know where that is on the phone ICS interface, down there at the bottom. Where is it on the tablet? That would be awesome to be able to keep certain apps and shortcuts accessible on every homescreen. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it on the tablet though! Anyone able to help?

Try out nova launcher or any other that offers dock options.

Nah I'd rather stay with the stock launcher. Thanks though!

I think what verizon was talking about is the recent apps list where you can quick change to another app you have recently had opened. Do not confuse that with a launch bar that you may see on a windows PC. However, if that is what you would like to have then check out EOS 2.0 rom. It has this feature of putting apps down at the bottom next to the soft keys. And it uses stock launcher. In fact its what I like to call "enhanced stock experience". Great stable rom, awesome features.
I thought that too except they specifically said drag apps and shortcuts to the launch bar for easy access from any home screen, plus the multitasking button isn't new in ICS. Honeycomb had it too.
Honestly I think it was a marketing faux pas on their side because as far as I can see, the launch bar exists phone only.

Folders and widgets

Hey... this is a pretty basic question... but is there any way to add a widget into a folder?
I want to have my music control widgets in a folder, not directly on the home screen. Don't think it's possible... but figured I'd check. Thanks!

You can use apps to accomplish this, like:
Widget Folder,
SwipePad with the WidgetPad add-on,
or Wave Launcher.
Thank you!

Where is the menu button?

Not much of an officianado when it comes to Android.Never owned a phone or tablet with virtual buttons rather than physical ones.
Have installed Apex launcher on my 10.1
Where do I find the settings?
On my SGS3 I obviously just tap the menu button, which the 10.1 doesnt have
I really need an instruction book for this thing.

There's always the settings app in your app drawer.
Settings can be found in notifications as well. Menu button will be there when you need it... certain apps trigger it
