^Nope, it'll just clear up the sd-ext data. The partitioning won't be affected.
So I guess...when changing ROMs it's safe to format the sd ext?

Good afternoon all...
Everytime I do a wipe delvik, I get an error saying
That there is no ext4 partition on my sd card....
Should I wipe it and creat an ext4 partition?

No, it's saying there's no Ext4 to Wipe. That's why you get that error. Honestly I didn't know the newer Clockworks could do Ext4.
Thank you for the quick response!
I can't remember the exact terminology but I am using revolutionary 4.0.0.9 and when I hit the wipe delvik option, while navigating to the directory, I see an error at the bottom that says something along the lines of "error locating....[ext4]"...
Or something along those lines...
But it does wipe delvik.

format your sdcard, internal and external from within windows or from recovery, but back it up first from within windows
Format /sdcard wipes your external sdcard.
Format /emmc for your internal sd card.
This is for Sky ICS Build F.
Found this out the hard way when I aoft bricked my phone after format /sdcard and when I went to flash a new rom my external was wiped clean.

so if i do /emmc in recovery after i do a factory reset will it still boot into my CM10 rom? Or will i need to odin stock and go through the process to get it again?

The rom (any rom) lives in /system partition ...
/data partition holds your apps
/cache holds your apps data and files (cache files)
/sd card (internal or external) is the place for your personal files
So when doing Factory reset , the recovery will wipe /data + /cache , but your rom would stay untouched like just flashed , the same is applied to the /sd card..
Like Vincom said : connect your phone to PC , from my computer , right click the storage of your phone (after you tap on your phone screen connection) and choose format sure after you backup your important files , then it will be formated or just select everything then delete ... After that boot into recovery then do factory reset ... Your current rom will stay as is ..but everything else is gone ...
Hope this helps.
how does the internal card like being formatted? FAT? FAT32?

Just FYI- In JB(CM10) the new naming convention is /storage/sdcard0 for internal and sdcard1 for external..

I can't move my apps to my sdext partition, I tried Link2sd and it can't detect my partition (I already tried deleting the partition and creating a new one) I google searched and didn't find anything useful.
So, Is there a way to move all my apps to sdext in CM10?
have you mounted the second partition ?
in recovery mode mount the sd-ext partition . then in link2sd , create mount script and reboot.

Hi all, I'm having a serious problem in my TF101 C10...
I cannot boot any OS (it get stuck into Android screen), but only into Recovery. When I try to wipe Factory Reset I get the following message:
Formatting /data...
Skipping erase of data/media.
Error removing /data/data/com.android.gallery3d/cache/156C764383426C78.bin!
Also I cannot Unmount the /data partition!!!
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance!
Can you update your recovery before trying to wipe ?
Unsure if that is possible, but if you can find a new recovery .zip, maybe you can flash it and then see if the wipe works

Yup, I tried to wipe using TWRP but I always get the error message of that file that cannot be deleted. I also tried the wiping option into coldboot but it doesn't helped either because the /data dir is not wiped...
I had the same problem what I did to resolve it was i formatted my internal storage via TWRP and tried to load the ROM and it booted fine.

Hello,
I'm having troubles with sd-ext partition, infact, everytime i change rom, the rom is unable to mount it with apps like link2sd, s2e, mount2sd etc.. also installing the same rom, the problem returns. The only way i found is to delete all the partition and create new ones, i'm currently using twrp recovery. Everytime i change a rom i do a factory reset, and wipe system. My sd is 32gb, class 10; 890mb ext3 partion. Am i doing something wrong in the installation?
ROM currently installed: CM10 beta6 that I would like to install a memory script.
I hope that someone can help; sorry 4 bad english!
Happy easter

there isn't a mount and storage button, but there is a mount button that allow to connect usb mass drive to computer

i try your procedure using cwm 6.0, doesn't work
Flash kernel 2.6 and try ..mounting and installing mount2SD from play
And when you create partition from recovery, create it from yannou90 cwm recovery... it should work well, rather than twrp/cwm6 created partitions.

Try using minitool partition wizard and convert ext 3 filesystem to ext2. Mounting problem solved for ROMS using kernel 3.
partition
use twrp recovery, try to create partition in recovery mode for
GB-ext3
ICS-ext4.
if u flash new rom , use superwipe script its clear all data...
