Best JB rom & T-Mobile radio combo - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey guys, just wondering what is the best combination of JB Roms and T-Mobile radios? What works and what doesn't? Would love to flash the skyrocket to JB but would like it to work flawlessly with T-Mobile. Is the Blaze modem still the best to use?
Would like to hear what you guys are running.
Thanks.

Never use the term best in this forum u will get flamed for it just a friendly warning

OK.
Well I'm not sure how to ask then. I just wanted to know what some combinations people are running and if they notice any issues.
Not trying to say one ROM is better then the other. My bad.
Can I run the Blaze modem over a JB ROM? Particularly one slim jb?

I'd say use the Faux kernel with Sky Ice Cream
It gives me the best battery life... about 2 days with moderate use.
And NEVER use ROM Manager. It's BAD. VERY BAD!

Modem question

Which modem is best for SGS4G? I'm running VB final with lightening zap+upgrade.

Depends on where you live. For me KB5 kicks it. Easy enough to try them all. Just DL the cwm ones from here and try each one until you find the best for you.

And thank FB for putting all those together.
So any modem well work with this ROM? I don't wanna brick it that's why?

Any one of the modems I linked you to.
So KB5 works best for u?

Yep, but I live in a rural town with an old infrastructure.
So what makes the difference in modems? frequency? or range.. trying to figure out the basics. and dont see a thread for my question.. just roms with "certain modems" included or recommended.

[Q] Favorite rom flavor?

I know there isn't a "best" firmware out there, so I though I'd get everybody's opinion of what YOUR favorite rom is for SKYROCKET.
Careful there going to close your post because it has nothing to do with skyrocket even tho its a great question and a great topic to discuss...with that said I'm using Seans sky is 4.2 by far the best ROM stock or custom flash and enjoy the speed and battery

Look in the dev section. You will see the popular Roms. No need for more useless threads like this.

Cm7, stock,update,etc

Trying not to beat a dead horse here.... currently running a stable cm7 from last year with launcher ex instead of adw.(rooted) What kind of updates are in the newest cm7 release? Is it worth a flash? The new at&t update, how is that compared to say a custom rom? Looking for a stable, snappy, (with some eye candy) phone. And if I wanted the att update what would I do? Go back to stock?

Flash and see for yourself, as for the at&t update use gizmoe's or flapjaxxx's rooted version in the dev section

I tried Android Revolution HD 6.3.3, which is exactly the same as AT&T's update, plus overclocked @ 1.5GHz. Battery life is good, better than unrooted, though. I recommend it

Cool. I may change it up a bit. I hate re-flashing so I haven't tried much. But lately either cm7 or the launcher ex has been dog slow. Been waiting to see if they bring cm9 to the inspire.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
Man, I sure hope they do. I didn't like CM7, though, because stock Gingerbread is too plain. ICS doesn't need another skin over it.

Well, I flashed latest nightly of cm7. Now I really can't wait for a stable 9. I was hoping for a little improvement in update but haven't seen it. Went back to adw cause launcher ex is soooo slow. Cool though. Anyone seen an unofficial cm9 with the bugs worked out?
Sent from my inspire using xda app-developers app
Try installing Jellytime ROM. Its Android 4.1 jellybean. Its actually an unofficial CM10 build.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app
Thought about that. Jb I heard was a little buggy. Same as cm9. That's why I like waiting for an official unless the bugs in the above mentioned are minuscule. Plus do u have to flash anything extra like a kernal? I'm better than noob but far from expert. I like small risks.

Flashing New Radio

I've heard a lot recently about flashing a new radio to help get better reception and it sounds great and all, but if that can be done so easily why haven't all carriers just started with the best there was to offer? Does it adversely affect battery life? If I were to change my radio what would I want to change it to?

Well if you were to flash a new radio, it would be the new jellybean radio leaked from the new vzw jellywiz.
You can find all the radios on one of the stickies under Android development and you'd just install the newest one. but unless you're having signal problems, i wouldn't bother. I do have it installed though.

Has it made a noticeable difference?

For me the only way I have noticed a difference is when I am running the leak. I don't know why but that's the only time I have better reception.

How stable is the leak right now? Since its a major upgrade is there anything special I need to do to flash it?
